With regards to music magpie etc what are they like with light marks to screens etc? Mine has small marks visible from having no screen protector.

only visible if screen is off and tilted in the light
I have sent phones to them in that condition and never had a problem. I.e I don't keep a protector on any of my phones and they have never discounted me for scratches to the display. Their condition spec can be found here but is quite ambiguous. https://www.musicmagpie.co.uk/condition-specifications/mobile-phones/

Are you sure, the phone has gone up £50 so you’ll be paying ~£2 more per month. That’s if you’re comparing like for like XS to a 11 pro in the same capacity

I was referring to the prices you posted that don't include AppleCare:

Both the Pro and Pro Max are cheaper per month than what I currently pay per month for my XS with Applecare (£56).

I'm not sure AppleCare is even worth the extra dosh for me - I have never dropped ANY of my iPhones I have ever owned, and/or damaged the screen - all the way since the iPhone 3G!

Semi starting to think the same way about AppleCare. I’ve always had it on every iPhone just not sure if I even need to fork it out anymore. Never made claims on them ever

when should we expect the networks will announce their contract pricing? Will it be friday like the initial pre-orders or some other time?

I'd love to know this. And how we can manipulate them into giving us better deals than advertised.

I've got the current pricing for the XR in a screenshot. If they try to charge more than that considering the phone is now cheaper they will be told where to go.

I was the same until recently, when I dropped my XS Max and shattered the back.

currently on EE i can get a 128gb XR for 64 per month with £60 up front for 100gb of data. I get 20% off the monthly cost through student discount so that makes it only £51.20 per month. Considerably less than I am already paying for 25GB. If they can do that I'll snap their hand off.

I suspect the 'Deep Fusion' photography will make use of all 3 lenses and will be Pro only, but other than that, largely the same

Deep Fusion is also available on the iPhone 11. It’s mentioned on the Apple Newsroom in the iPhone 11 section (link below)

https://www.apple.com/uk/newsroom/2019/09/apple-introduces-dual-camera-iphone-11/

“Deep Fusion, coming later this fall, is a new image processing system enabled by the Neural Engine of A13 Bionic. Deep Fusion uses advanced machine learning to do pixel-by-pixel processing of photos, optimizing for texture, details and noise in every part of the photo.”

Did many people have much luck reserving for in store pickup last year? I’m only after the non-max pro this time so hoping stock levels are okay.

Think I may be settled on a black 11, just don’t see £320 worth of extras in the 11 Pro... that’s if I went for the smaller size!

Does anyone know if we can select a different shipping address from the billing address for delivery?

Usually it’s not a problem for me but this year I’ll need to arrange delivery to another place.

Only real interesting part of the keynote for me was the "Deep Fusion" AI photography on the Pro models. I'd like to see how actual photos look in the real world. Apple and "Night Mode" seems to be responding directly to Google's "Night Sight"

yes, I though Apple would have spent a lot more time on this... totally agree the whole thing felt rushed even though they kept the whole thing about 20 mins shorter than usual.

yes would be as you're not paying £200 for the apple care.

for me the phone's too expensive, and our of support repairs are pricey. I had a screen protector on my XS which was a good thing as my daughter dropped my phone a few months ago and i thought the screen shattered but luckily it was only the screen protector.

not had a contract phone since the 4 but the carriers will usually start releasing the info friday morning

did just that... was no problem when pre-orders went live and reserved a Xs and watch for pick up last year. given the 11 is out at the same time this year (Xr launched after the XS last year) there might be more traffic hitting apple, but it feels like the midnight green is the popular choice.

will stick up a poll

Bought a clear Max case in the Apple Store App today as a standalone order. Everything shipshape on my Apple Pay settings, so looking forward to a smooth Friday lunchtime experience ...

It offered me a Siri Shortcut to "where's my Apple order?" - I guess it beats pressing refresh, though I'm not anticipating the same fever around tracking planes etc this year.
