It is! I went 0% credit card last time (X) but that was a mistake as didn't pay it all off and sent more on the card!

Variable...... I got an account credit when the ballsed up a few years back but to be fair that was when Apple were low on stock with a particular model/colour way due to manufacturing problems..Can t remembers the release now.

EE quoted me on 20th or up to 14 days.

How retro!! Decent deal and I think £2 cheaper that I got on online chat - what data have you got?

Bromley Store now showing no stock for the Pro 64Gb in Midnight Green, or the Space Grey.

tl:dr iPhone vs Canon dedicated cameras - iPhone wins on ease of use and dynamic range ; Canon wins on image quality but worse dynamic range.

I used to own a Nikon D610 and a Sony A6000....

Sold them both around the time I got my iPhone X...

Got my 11 Pro 64GB Midnight Green ordered around 1:05pm.

Just waiting on that confirmation email still though.

That's odd, I got mine instantly!

I feel like a fool, but have put in my preorder.

I would have saved money if I'd gone Sim Only with EE and then pay monthly through Apple. But it turns out you can't pre-order and pay monthly with Apple, and my contract with EE was more complicated than I thought, so I just upgraded with them, which will cost me a couple of hundred quid more across the two years, just to get the phone sooner...

But I also get a 2 year warranty and free Prime Video, which I was already paying for.

Regardless, they "guarantee" I'll get the phone Friday.

55 mins in and 256gb silver pro is still available for launch delivery (store pickup no longer available). Got all worked up refreshing multiple devices for nothing
Now nearly 2.5hrs in its still available and store pickup is back. Trying to tell myself I’ll have a more exclusive rather than less desirable colour, lol.

Can I just ask how the dual sim works? Cos I’m currently with three but I have a virgin unlimited sim which I’ve never used, so could I put this in as well now then? If so how does it differ between the 2?

Anyone had luck with 3?

Three were a nightmare. Their website had a countdown timer, and as of 3pm the preorders still weren't live. I called up minutes after preorder went live and by the time the operator said the phones name 10 times the shipping dates were October, so I ordered a 256gb Pro Green sim free from Apple... then left Three for EE because my Three speeds suck.

Edit: preorders now online on website and showing 20th delivery, despite being told October minutes after launch.. Not sure how that works, but info for everyone else.

You can if you reserve to pick up in an Apple Store just not online.

Is 24 months 0% with £20 deposit new for UK?

https://www.apple.com/uk/shop/iphone/payments/overlay

Just done this for an 11 - £30pm with £20 down. Instead of £35pm and £69 down for iPhone payments normally.

And they still have availability for pickup on Friday

Where do you get the £20 down? I think these are the prices if you are trading in a phone.

For dual SIM to work on a UK iPhone, one of the networks you have access to needs to be via a physical SIM card and the other a virtual eSIM.

You're able to have both SIMs in standby at the same time for voice calls and text messages, but only one of the SIMs can be used for data, iMessage, FaceTime, Whatsapp etc. You can only take one voice call at a time; if you receive a call on one SIM, the other SIM will basically be engaged or go to voicemail.

You get a decent level of granularity with Apple's implementation. You can specify per contact to only ever use one SIM or the other, "Work" vs "Personal" for example.

One major caveat of eSIM is it's tied to the device as a security precaution. If you wish to move to a new/replacement handset, you need the network to issue you with a new eSIM to associate with the phone, or for them to migrate your number back to a physical SIM card. I learned this the hard way when an EE store migrated the wrong number to a physical SIM card for me.

Setting it up is a faff but once it's working, it's really handy as it saves me carrying two phones around.

The 2nd sim isn’t a physical one, it’s an e (electronic) sim, like in the 4g watches.

Did you get a guarantee of launch day? I had mine ordered via online chat around same time. They say I'll prob get but next Friday but might be up to 14 days later. Clearly leaving from previous launches where they didn't have the stock to satisfy for weeks. Am not too concerned at the EE upgrade is a back up option for me. I think I'll either buy outright or go with IUP.

Yes, confirmed launch day delivery. The guy I dealt with said they had loads of stock available.

Apple seem to be getting better at having enough stock available for carriers if the last couple of launches are anything to go by.

Just ordered a Pro Max Space Grey 256GB. Gone for the clear case. Bit of risk as I don't really know what those clear cases are like, and they're not cheap - but when you're spending a small fortune on the phone the case isn't something I'll be thinking about too much.

I was really torn between saving £400-ish and going for a iPhone 11. I'd have been perfectly happy with that, I'm sure, especially as my current phone is an iPhone 6s Plus. However, I don't buy a new phone that often so I thought, what the hell!

I'll save a bit of money as this is a business purchase so I can reclaim the VAT. Still an expensive purchase at just over a grand, though!

When an iPhone with a smaller notch and 5G comes out next year I may regret this purchase, but where I live we'll be lucky to get 5G for several years, and the really noticeable 5G improvements won't come until the second phase rollout anyway so 4G should see me comfortably through the lifetime of this device (3 years or so, I imagine).

I was busy checking my business insurance so didn't manage to order at 1pm so my estimated delivery is 30 Sept - 7 October. I've had my 6s Plus for 4 years so another 2 or 3 weeks I'll hardly notice.

I hope everyone is getting what they want. I'm sure despite the obvious short comings of this device, people like me who are upgrading from ancient hardware will be really, really happy!

That's what I currently have - a sim only deal with EE and paying monthly for my XS on the IUP.....

But it turns out you can't pre-order and pay monthly with Apple
'

...what do you mean exactly? Yes you can - you can pre-order now and when you pick up your handset, you can choose either to join the IUP (which is monthly payments) or choose the iPhone Payments option (which again, is monthly payments) unless I have misunderstood you?

Three pre-order day upgrade - 1st October delivery

OK, Three are indeed a nightmare, and the other networks aren’t much better.

I upgraded to an iPhone 11 Pro 256GB Gold over livechat and was told at the eleventh hour delivery would be 1st October. My advisor even informed me that I was the first customer to upgrade today, so it seems ludicrous that their first upgrade wouldn’t get launch day delivery. They wouldn’t relent on this, though, despite my putting that to them. They said they had a 256GB Gold 11 Pro Max available 20th September but wouldn’t do me it at the same price, so I agreed to keep the original order.

I checked their site when normal orders finally went live, which wasn’t long ago. Lo and behold delivery of my chosen model is available 20th September.

I called them up and they insist there’s no stock for 20th September, but who knows what to believe. I have considered placing a separate order as a new customer to try my luck, as I wouldn’t put it past Three to prioritise new customers over existing upgrades, but I feel this is excessive and it’s most probable that their website is incorrect, rather than the jokers I’ve spoken with. They are outrageously terrible in all respects.

I have attempted backup options to get the phone sooner. I only wanted to remain with Three for legitimate fears of not passing a credit check with another network. I’ve placed a tentative order with EE but that doesn’t even give any delivery date at all. I know they don’t credit check immediately so it’s still processing, despite receiving an email saying the order was “successful” (they’ve done this to me before where it appeared the order had gone through only to receive an email an hour later saying I’d failed the credit check - do the credit check before saying the order is successful, surely). I tried Vodafone but their site kept failing. I got to the last hurdle with O2 only to find that they had my old address saved on my account with no means of changing it, so they would credit check me at that address which would immediately fail.

To be honest the behaviour of Three to upgrade me on pre order day whilst not guaranteeing delivery until 11 days after launch is grotesquely unfair. Also, that all major UK carriers did not release pricing in advance of pre orders is cynical in the extreme and utterly contemptible.

If anyone has updates on Three delivery dates or EE delivery dates after the order is processed, I would sincerely appreciate a message.

Try a physical store. I walked into my local curry's at 1430 and ordered an 11 Pro Max. I was the first person and got a better deal than offered online.

Physical stores have dedicated allocation so pop in to one after work.
