Coming from an iPhone 7, is there any benefits of using an esim? I’m not planning to use my phone with dual sim(maybe I would, not sure what the benefits are).

What’s the benefit of using the MagSafe charger? This will be my first phone which has wireless charging but I hate the idea that phones charge slow with them. I currently have a 12W Apple plug and wire. Is it worth getting the MagSafe?

Magsafe charges at 15W I believe.

eSim not much benefit unless you want to use a 2nd sim. Mainly useful either if you have a business phone plan or travel abroad and want to use a local sim with your existing one.

Apparently Vodafone is the best in my neck of the woods closely followed by EE. I ended up finding a better deal on Vodafone so after 8+ years with O2 I have finally jumped ship. It’s weird because within 20 mins of requesting my PAC code I had a call begging me to stay with O2. They wouldn’t match my deal in any way, shape or form but really wanted me to stay because they felt I should be loyal to them after so long.

If you have a 7.5w QI charger right now it will charge faster as MagSafe is rated at 15w. This is still slower than the 20w plug you can purchase now with lightning or the old 18w plug you could purchase optionally last year.

For me, bedside night time charging is issue. Always been an issue to find a lightning port in the dark with the charging cable.
And likewise when placed on wireless charger with eyes closed in dark, it kind of hit and miss and sometimes it annoys me when found out it is not charged in the morning.

With MagSafe, it will cover those issues I believe.

For last few days, I just hugely made a huge joke out of Apple left out charging adapter and claiming to be environmental hero and finally I am getting MagSafe charger and 20W USB C adapter. What a hypocrisy I am running on about !

Congrats to you guys who have got your pre-orders already!

I have a quick question about the 'prep' window that Apple offered over the last few days. Did that include the 12 Pro Max or was it just for the 12 and 12 Pro pre-orders that started yesterday?

I assumed it wouldn't, and none of the emails I had mentioned the Max, so I'm hoping they might do something similar again for it.

I never used Vodafone before three just called me up and tried to sell me 20 pounds for 100gb deal told them to get lost been with them for over 10 years (Speeds are getting worst and worst) this month they decided to up my monthly charge to 22 pounds.
Was paying 12 pounds unlimited everything sim they did this with my one plan back in 2015 always something fishy goes on a three this month they even removed go binge not susprised they start introducing cpi they promised everyone sim users will not face RPI charges back in 2018 what happened they introduced these charges..... Very shady company.

This was just for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro. [6.1"]
Pro Max and Mini are going pre-orders on the 6th November.

Just the 12s available yesterday. Assume there will be the same in 3 weeks time.

Late to replying to the thread but have been following since the announcement! This year I'll be using my iUP upgrade to go to the 12 Pro 256GB in Pacific Blue. Really looking forward to seeing what the colour looks like in the wild, it's a shame that due to COVID we've not been able to get the usual post-event hands-on.

Have bought a MagSafe charger too, annoyingly though to work at full charging capacity you need a 20W USB-C charger (and the ones from my 11 Pro and iPad Pro are only 18W!). Was hoping the Duo Charger would be out at launch, but will just have to pick that up later when it's released (providing it isn't another AirPower "available later" disaster...)

😂😂😂
To be fair I’d never go back to EE as I’ve had loads of issues with them in the past and Ive already got one mobile and home broadband with three hence why it made more sense to check out their deals..

EE have always been overpriced for what they are though.
Lol, you ever contacted three customer service and used your mobile in London before you will know the difference between EE and three been to London last year Googlemaps didn't even load up had to switch off 4G and use their 3G network..
I think EE getting very competitive these days three are overpriced.
What ever happened to three 5G network they keep on talking about we invested 2 billions pounds heard nothing yet....

I beg to disagree from personal experience and that was a good couple of years ago. Can’t comment on reliability on EE in London unfortunately. Have had to only contact three customer services once before which was yesterday when I was upgrading and they were super helpful. So yeah EE in my opinion is very overpriced considering you pay almost double for the iPhone 12 if you choose to go with them. 🙂

I mainly use it as a spare line and number I can put on websites for online orders and such like. Only my contacts have my main number.
I tried having an EE e-sim and EE physical sim and I got errors all of the time. When I threw a Three physical sim in, it worked fine.

Where did you see you needed a 20W charger surely a 15W charger will work with an 18W adapter?
The Apple store page says it recommends a 20W charger. I would imagine this is due to loss of power from cabled to wireless as this is always an issue when using wireless chargers.
It will probably work with the 18W but just not to the full charging speeds.

I have loads of MacBook chargers, which is a shame.

USB-C ones? I’m going to use a 28W charger I’ve got - presume the MagSafe charger will just draw what it wants so should only draw 20W and work just fine with that.
Yeah USB-C ones. I've had multiple MBPs from work and I've got a few of them. I'll Riley just buy a small brick to plug it in though, not the £20 brick from Apple.

I though this was just because they no longer sell the 18W adapter only the 20W adapter.
That’s a good point, hadn’t thought about that. In classic Apple fashion they don’t make it clear on the website.
Either way it’ll be quicker than the wireless charging pad I have from Mophie, which I think it’s 7.5W.

I believe all Qi chargers are charing at 7.5W for iPhone

I still have a three sim in my old iPhone 11 Pro three network is pants in reliability in terms of speeds and signal strength.
Calls always divert to voicemall even have people telling me your line sounds so bad.

Terms of speeds getting only 12 meg with three EE getting well over 130 meg once three decide to upgrade to 5G your probably only recieving 4G speeds at the max.
