A few of us sold our phones to Music Magpie early last year to capitalise on the early values vs selling after new hardware had been released. To tide us over, we bought new low end iPhones from Apple and took advantage of their 14 day return window. When picking up my 11 Pro Max last year, I returned the iPhone XR - the sales guy was confused and I don't think he ever figured out what I was doing.
Sure, I had a little guilt, but I wasn't depriving anybody of a year old iPhone XR. As long as you're careful and don't damage the temporary burner device, you should be fine. I'm unsure whether I'm in the market to upgrade this year year, but I will be pushing for my wife to get a burner XR whilst she sends her phone off to Music Magpie (we have a spare XR case, which will help protect the phone whilst it's in the 14 day period).
I personally think it’s a bit scummy to take advantage of the 14 days no questions asked returns like that, doesn’t matter how rich the company is.Apple offers 14 day returns in good faith. Don't think I would want to game them like that, but I'm an old-fashioned boy and probably a mug.
2 trillion dollar company. Apple can afford it. Even when you do a return they will still end up making the $$$I personally think it’s a bit scummy to take advantage of the 14 days no questions asked returns like that, doesn’t matter how rich the company is.
That's not the point. 🤦♂️2 trillion dollar company. Apple can afford it. Even when you do a return they will still end up making the $$$
I think Apple must give very concrete example / functions about LiDAR on this event since the LiDAR on iPad is used by few users and developers.Locked in my Pixel 4XL with Music Magpie as I've always had good dealings. May resell on a popular auction site this weekend if I can get 1% selling fee and a reasonable sale price!
So I've gone and pre-ordered the Google Pixel 5 - an anti-Apple thing to do but the deal was mega. I have really enjoyed my experience with the 4XL this year, especially the camera.
My direct comparison of the Pixel 5 will be with the iPhone 12 Pro & Pro Max. Looks like 5G and the new Air Tags will be their primary sales push. If Apple step up and include 120hz refresh rate, even as an option, then I am sold. Interested in seeing the camera/video upgrades on the 12 Pro's too. Plus what they can do with the LiDAR scanner - will it be actually useful or an AR gimmick.
Looking forward to the 'Hi, Speed' event!
It's gonna get busy in here!
Still amazing how good resale value is for iPhones. When i sold my 11 pro max 256GB think it went for £620
True. I have a good deal for a pretty old device. I have found someone ok to pay €250 for my iPhone 7 128GB right after the 12 is out. 😊Still amazing how good resale value is for iPhones. When i sold my 11 pro max 256GB think it went for £620
How much was it 12 months ago?
You still lose about £500 from brand new but after what 13-14 months is pretty good really.
Whats everones music magpie experience been like in the past?
I was, now I will just buy my phones and use sim onlyAren't you an EE 'upgrader'?

Got my fold 2 on annual upgrade though
Guess I wont be seeing you over on the EE Community this year then
EE are brilliant. I have used them for three years and not a glitch. I buy my phones and watches outright but for sim services on my watch and phone, they have been brilliantI’ll be heading to EE after 8+ years with O2, not annual upgrade though as I don’t need that. Looking forward to finally having decent network coverage after being lazy and sticking with O2 with their dismal service in my part of Wales for so long!
I really wish I could afford the phone outright, but gone are the days of the latest iPhone costing £600, I just simply cannot afford £1000+ outright.
Yeah EE and Vodafone are apparently the best for coverage in the Welsh Valleys and EE have a huge headquarters in Merthyr so you’d expect them to be good. I could afford to buy outright but to be honest I like to pay £400 upfront and then go on a 2 year contract with as close to a £30p/m tariff as possible. If the total cost is £900-950 over 2 years I’m happy. I’m tempted to use the extra cash this year to get an iPad Air. Then again I’ve just built a home office so I might need to get a PS5 lolEE are brilliant. I have used them for three years and not a glitch.
