I’m pretty sure 5G will be somehow supported by EE, especially with their partnership. Seems silly one of the headline features is not available.

It’s purely a headline. I do believe the 700MHz band they’re on about isn’t in service yet, nor will it be for at least a year as they Ofcom haven’t even done the auction yet.

Three I believe acquired the most spectrum in the initial auction for 5G so in theory they will have the best coverage for that but the other networks still have plenty and I believe that will work with the iPhone 12.

Thats my understanding anyway.

Borrowing my mates old iPhone 8 whilst my S20U is in for repair, forgot how nice it is to have a smaller phone which I think pretty much seals the deal for me getting the iPhone 12 6.1 Max if I can live with 60hz.

I think the whole 700mhz 5G thing is over blown as well, the rollout is going to take years so by that time it's pretty much guarantee that the iPhone then will support it.

Yepp, I believe the 700 MHz spectrum was the old terrestrial channel that they shut down a couple of years ago? (I could be wrong) but I thought I had heard they shut down that spectrum to prep for the next generation of mobile connectivity.

I really don't know what to get. My original SE died in June and I'm struggle by with my less than reliable 5S was all set to get the Iphone 12 5.4 but after reading all the leaks I'm leaning towards the 12 pro. I know whatever I buy will be a huge upgrade just wish they were being released at the same time so I could physically compare both models. Guess we'll all know more tomorrow.

I don’t get the love for the Apple upgrade programme.
Firstly you are obliged to take Apple care , I could buy from John Lewis and get a 2 year Warrenty for free.
Secondly it’s a full blown personal loan application / credit check with Barclays EVERY YEAR. It’s not a case of qualify once and you qualify in perpetuity.
When you add the repayment costs of the AUP to a decent 5G SIM only plan (which is around £25), you’re paying contract prices anyway.

Main reason I go direct to Apple my phones get past down to my kids. At least once warranty and AC+ expired, it’s a lot more convenient and easier to get a out of warranty repair if needed by consumer rights than it is through a carrier

I wouldn’t expect it, unless apple has hidden this really well i would say it will be next year when they have LTPO panels.

i do hope your wrong mate lol

i've said my piece about lack of innovation when it comes recent iphone launches new design 5g and better cameras just don't cut it for me i know for others it does though.

so if no 120hz i'll be ready to upgrade next year.

Hello everyone, haven’t been on this the pre order threads since the iPhone 8 Plus was released. Can’t believe we’re already on 29 pages.

Since getting my iPhone 8+ I decided for the first time in my life go for an Android phone and bit the bullet on a Samsung S10+. Great phone and I enjoyed the freedom of android and the 1/2 the price cost (2 year contract cost me around £800). Sadly I broke the screen and it’s a £280 repair :( so reverted back to my iPhone 8+.

I’m really undecided what to go for if anything this year. My grandad needs a new phone so was going to give him my current one, but I like getting the biggest screen and forking out £1149 for an 12 pro max is very steep. Hoping Apple lower the price for us this year and bring it below the £1=$1 conversion after they started charging above that last year.

...I doubt that will happen!

Two years ago, my iPhone XS cost a whopping £1129, and that wasn't even for a 'Max' version so if this year's 12 Pro Max is gonna cost £1149 - I think you're getting a bargain!!!

The iPhone 11 Pro Max starts from £1149. I really can’t see them increasing the price. They should lower it to £1099 which means the £1=$1 conversion. Obviously I get that sales tax is added on after in America so the conversion is £1.20=$1 but the current exchange is £1.30=$1 so they are still making a bigger margin from the UK than US.

So when is everyone packing their phone off to music magpie and other trade in sites?

As soon as I do this im on my old 7+ until I manage to get my new one, and then if all goes wrong and I don't manage a launch day shipment this could end up being weeks..

im planning on Wednesday but am in 2 minds as to maybe doing it tomorrow in the hope I hear back from them this way before Friday... The phone is genuinely in perfect condition but im really paranoid they'll somehow knock the price down from the £570 offered :(

I am aware that Apple trade-in knock down about 30 quids before iPhone 12 news come out on all the range of phones.

And valuation by apple is lesser by about 50 quids compared to magpie. I will still go ahead with Apple trade-in kit to avoid any frustration or hassle selling on magpie or fb marketplace.
I am always unlucky when following cheaper options (in this case higher valuation).
