Is anyone on Three? How is their network in terms of speeds? I’m considering a switch as a lot of the good deals on EE are for 24 month contracts and I want to stick with 12.
I left Three after about 3 years in April for o2 as I needed data in a country that Three didn't offer, so instead of buying a 30 day sim for around £30 with o2 for this one trip that included that country I just took a 12 month £20 100gb sim out with them (haggled to get 2 months free so only paying for 10)...

Best thing is Covid happened so the trip didn't even happen!

However I already can't wait for it to end and ill be going back to Three. Annoyingly won't be able to get the 30gb £15 a month sim I was on with them previously :(

Always had perfect customer service with three though and very good coverage, o2 coverage seems to be nowhere near as good for me. They even credited my account £60 after a quick 5 minute live chat as I got stranded in a country which wasn't part of their roaming, purely so I could connect to 4G and purchase a data add-on (as it would cost me to do this)

How are peeps getting through to live chat
selecting Customer Services and upgrades I just get the following message

Sorry, we aren’t able to assist with your query on chat.
If you are looking to Upgrade, please text "Up" to 150
Give EE a call

With the XS Max 2 years ago, I researched contracts etc, ordered a couple of hours after pre-order began and still got a launch day model. You might be lucky.
I suppose it’s not as manic as it used to be as less people are upgrading then were 5 years ago. I’m checking mobiles.co.uk, USwitch and CPW for deals as they usually offer better deals than the carriers directly.

Anybody got any tips for comparison sites for contract deals please?

I doubt i’ll be getting my iPhone 12 on launch day as I don’t like making snap decisions on plans without researching the best deals. If the preorder launches at 1pm, it’ll take me an hour or two to browse the contract deals and the phone stock may or may not be depleted by then. It’s annoying the sites can’t release deal previews to at least give people time to see in advance what is appealing. They obviously know the costs at this point and the retail price of the handset is known.
Wish these carriers had plans up when the phone is announced..

EE are being a pain with me. Been with them 4 years, 3 lines, my line has been out of contract for 3 years. Not budging on the upgrade price (well £1 discount from the website!) and the 12 month SIM only is stupidly expensive compared to the o2 or 3.

I may as well stay as I am on 4g 30GB (plus 5GB extra from my backup broadband), with US roaming for £18 as no 5g in my area yet anyway. Even when you factor in the BT sport add in I am only paying £28 and not tied for 2 years to them.

Today's my off day (I usually am an Apple Card SRE), I took today off specifically for the pre-orders

I have been with Three for years, they are rubbish, their website is lacklustre, their whole customer service team seems to be based somewhere in middle east, not to mention my signal drops to 3G more often than not. I would stay clear from Three.

I've booked out the morning of the 13th so that if necessary I can go and get the phone from the Apple store. I've already got a 1200 meeting on the 6th that I'm hoping won't go on longer than 45 mins so I've time to pre-order. Fingers crossed 🤞

...I’m gonna be boring and order the iPhone 12 in blue, with blue case and blue MagSafe! 😮

Anyone remember (as the store is down obviously) if the MagSafe charger is usb or usb - c ?

It is USB-C. Can see a picture on the cached version from Google.

Fingers crossed for the meeting to be as short as possible!

Got my S20U back and the screen looks way better now than before, going to get this all prepped next week to sell if I manage to bag the iPhone 12 Pro in Blue at 1.00pm

Looked at the Voda tariffs for the 11Pro as a guide, and I think its time to go SIM free - even with existing customer discount, they are ludicrous.

SIM only is the way forward. I'm paying £9/month for 30GB data and unlimited everything else on SMARTY (who use Three's network) on a 1 month contract.
