Which 15 Pro are you getting?

I managed to get an order in for a 15 PM on box.co.uk. Says the delivery date is the 22nd still which is great.

Has anyone bought from them before?

Is it just me, or is everybody getting the Pro Max lol? Pro Max is far more popular than the Pro these days..
It’s what Apple wants. They want you to buy the most expensive feature. If you own a 13Pro or 14Pro, the standard 15 is a small upgrade that’s not worth while.

That leaves you with the 15 Pro. If you want max telephoto you must buy the 15PM. If you up 15Pro storage to 256GB it makes financial sense to buy the 15PM.

Some people don’t have an iPad or don’t want to juggle an iPad and iPhone. As a result, they default to the PM.

It does. Unless you want the smaller size and the 5x / telephoto upgrades don't matter that much for you.

Bought my monitor from them last year. Arrived all ok but had to return and it wasn’t the greatest customer service experience. Did get there in end

I’d never get AppleCare. My phone is covered via domestic and general including water damage and theft and loss via home insurance. The damage cover is £4 a month cheaper through domestic and general.

For those that have ordered with Argos, I've just had this response back from them on live chat regarding deliveries on launch date:

Jack, as I checked, this is the pre-order. As I checked, we did not get the stock allocated from the manufacturer, but the best part is that our team is working on it with them. Soon, you will get a notification for the delivery date, and if the store confirms that date, you can wait.
Meh, I wouldn’t stress too much. I’ve had to go through Argos as I completely forgot about the 1pm preorder time and was driving didn’t pull over until 2, so I missed all the main players that opened up preorders on the 15th.

As for live chat I would take anything they tell you with a pinch of salt. A few years ago the O2 live chat folks told me there weren’t sure on stock levels or delivery times, my X arrived on release day. Same goes for EE, I’ve just ordered a sim through them and they couldn’t even track my delivery for me when an error came up on the tracking page.

Feel like live chat is a really good feature for a lot of retailers but it’s there to answer the bare minimum of questions and, actually, the guys running it don’t have access to a lot of the businesses systems so can’t access things like stock levels etc.

That being said I don’t think I’ve ever preordered anything through Argos so I don’t know what they’re like for fulfilling delivery on release day, the Pro Max models didn’t come online for hours after the 15, Plus & Pro and seemed to sell out quite quickly so it seems as though they were aware of their stock allocation before taking orders, but time will tell I guess.

Coming from a 13PM to 15PM I’m wondering if people use the always on display or not?
I got a 14P last year and wasn’t sure whether the always on would be useful or not.

But now I’ve had it for a year, I think it’d be a real negative experience if I went to a phone without it. It’s just so useful to be able to glance at the phone to see the status/updates without having to also trigger the display on. I look at my missis’ phone for ages before remembering I need to push the button.

One of those things I think you don’t actually need, as such, but once you have it, you then can’t imagine life without it

For those that are down for delivery direct from Apple I assume it is the usual lottery of couriers and the whole 'Oh god I hope it's not DHL, etc'. Who do we want? I'm assuming DPD are the best as you can track preciously where they are.

EDIT: Last year I had DHL and they delivered at 8pm, I stayed in all day and vowed never to do delivery again, but here I am

I do but with the background switched off. When they first released the 14PM the AOD had the dimmed wallpaper behind it. Personally did not like this and I also noticed increased battery drain. Since then they updated it to allow the background to be switched off which to me is so much better and I’ve been using it ever since

From my experience i'd rather have DHL or UPS both are consistently earlier for me than DPD who seem to be victims of their own success and are so busy i'm lucky to get delivery's before 5pm with them

Thanks, I try and use all the features I can to get the most out of the phone so will definitely give it a good try

Probably how I will use it aswell, don’t need to see the wallpaper all the time

My phone was delivered to UR on Thursday and I’ve just had the email confirmed they’ve ‘received it’ this morning. Spoke to them and it should be getting assessed today and if it’s done before 4pm I’ll get paid today otherwise it will be tomorrow.
Im in exactly the same boat - and also got an email from them this morning - So far, so good.............

As anyone that uses Work discounts (smart Shopping, perks at work, reward gateway etc) tried to buy Apple vouchers this week? Last week they were on offer at 5% discount, today they have reverted to 4% discount but are showing as 'out of stock'. Weird for an eGift card. Maybe they have used all their allocation.

I wonder if you would get the same customer service experience from D&G as you would from Apple via AC+ ? Judging on how D&G have been when I've claimed for a washing machine and an oven over the years, I'd pay the extra and have more confidence with Apple.

My “perks at work” doesn’t have the option to buy apple vouchers.. or any tbh. They have some odd cash back scheme where you get “wow points” which convert into money
