Last year I got an iPhone 14 Pro from EE on contract and after a few months sent it off to Music Magpie as I bought a Max outright.

Little did I know you couldn’t sell EE phones if within 6 months of getting them. MM could see EE owned it and ultimately had to send it back to me.

Has anyone been able to get any shipping updates yet? I've got a UPS My Choice account, which I've used in the past to track shipping before my official Apple order status has been updated, but I'm either not using the correct tracking code (my Apple order ID) or there's nothing been updated yet. I'm sure in the past we've been able to track shipments via Syncreon or something, but I can never remember the correct sites to check updates as they're coming into the UK/moving through the postal network.

Will be DHL or DPD for release day phones. You’ll get a notification on Thursday. First you’ll hear is the DPD app (if your phone is coming with them) or later via the apple tracking which goes to syncreon and then links off to DHL. You should get a text confirmation at some point too.

No UPS for these phone. Syncreon are the logistics partner apple use in the UK at least. All phones will depart from Hinckley.

For folks using Music Magpie to sell phones - do you need to pay off the remainder of your device contract before sending it to MM?
Hey,

It's hit and miss, most the time they've not picked up anything, however, twice they did know it was still under contract and sent it back to me. They told me they use CheckMend to check devices and that flagged it being under contract. It doesn't always show up on there though, it may depend on the model and carrier. You can run the test for £1.50 before you send it to MM, sometimes it does it for free for you. My 14PM was under contract but it didn't show on CM, and MM never stopped me and paid it out as normal.

Checkmend - https://www.checkmend.com/uk/

My “perks at work” doesn’t have the option to buy apple vouchers.. or any tbh. They have some odd cash back scheme where you get “wow points” which convert into money
That is a shame. I used my "perks at work" to get 5% off eGift cards to fund the Apple Watch Ultra 2 from Apple UK.

Used Amazon UK for the iPhone 15 PM as I had loads of Amazon credit to burn! Both due on Saturday! :)

It’s what Apple wants. They want you to buy the most expensive feature. If you own a 13Pro or 14Pro, the standard 15 is a small upgrade that’s not worth while.

100% agree.
That's why I went from a 13PM 512GB to a 15PM 512GB, even though I didn't need any of the extra features, or didn't need more then 256GB either. Heck I probably won't even 'feel' much of an upgrade beyond the setup phase.
Last year I was strong. I resisted. This year I broke. Like a fool.
But that's it. No more. Now I will be strong. I will be the winner!! No more new phones for the next 3-4 years at least!!!........unless it's something big.....or a nice color.......or I need more storage.......hmmmm......

I made the biggest mistake, I decided to upgrade with Tesco mobile as I got a discount on the device by upgrading early. Only to find out that Tesco Mobile don't complete your pre-order until they have an iPhone allocated to your account, so while I have an email saying 22nd September, I have to await an email to sign my contract and pay the early upgrade fee.

They were great with stock post-launch of the 14 PM so thought they'd be a good one to go with, now I'm worried I won't get it before my holiday in just under 2 weeks. Has anyone here Pre-ordered with Tesco mobile in the past? I should have stuck with Apple.

Mine is due a week after release - not too fussed TBH. But I do hope it is DPD, with an hour time slot. I work round the corner to home - 5min walk - so I can pop homefor an early/late lunch break during the time slot. If not I may have to use one of my sick days......

I’ve found that wears off after some use but yes it’s grippy. annoying when in pocket but good when in hand
Anyone tempted to go caseless this year. I‘m tempted. I usually get applecare+ but never went caseless because the the polished stainless would scratch up and scuff too easily. I’m not expecting this to be the case with Titanium. Hope someone with an apple watch Ultra can confirm their experience.

Well technically titanium is softer and therefore more prone to scratches than stainless steel. The coloured ones will have the PVD coating, I do not know if the natural colour is treated with some hardness enhancing material.

I've had an Ultra since just after launch and it's still immaculate despite being hit against the door frame quite a few times, it's the reason i got it as i certainly don't do any ultra sports but the durability is great especially compared to the aluminium one i had to it previously.

I'll be doing what I usually do, it'll go in a case and screen protector for he first 6 months then i'll get annoyed and go caseless from there on in. Never had Applecare and the 14PM i have now is the first one i've managed to crack the screen which was my own fault cleaning too hard not due to dropping or hitting it accidentley.

Right, final decision; Going with my Barclay's finance order. Spend ALL morning trying to cancel the Carphone Warehouse. Never again. Phoned them this morning and was told I need to call their sales team. Was given the wrong number "the number you have dialled has not been recognised" so phoned them back again. Was given a different number ('no, I cannot transfer you to the sales team"). Again number not recognised so a third call to them. This time they gave me another number. After trying 3 times I got through. Was on hold for 30 minutes before speaking to someone. Order cancelled in 2 mins. Not a very customer friendly company Carphone Warehouse.

CPW are piping hot garbage.

At least you finally managed to cancel your order with them.

Anyone posted their devices to MM recently and got full pay out?

I still got one device to recycle.

Locked with MM £725 and UR £749.

UR 14 days expire on Wednesday after launch day.
How long did UR take from the phone being delivered by Royal Mail to payout? My 14 PM was delivered this afternoon

Thanks - I’m going to get a screen protector too as well as an ESR clear case just in case.

How did you manage to crack it while cleaning?

I don't work on Fridays so can be at home when delivery happens.
I'm hoping mine is DPD and the 1 hour timeslot is in the morning lol.
I remember my 12 PM was delivered around 3pm which felt like I was waiting ages!

Pretty sure you’ll get a timed slot and snake with DHL too.

After years of only getting DHL (and uk mail before them) I got DPD last year. Will see what happens Thursday

I've never actually had them not payout in full at MM, I use them once or twice a year but my devices are always pristine. If yours is in good Nic, you should be fine. Maybe pay for special delivery so it gets to them the next day by 1 pm. You might then get it back in time to send it off to UR, should it fall through.

First world problems but I’m using an iPhone 6 as a burner while I wait for the 15 PM which isn‘t due until the 27th at the earliest.

Battery isn’t the issue, it‘s that I couldn’t restore from iCloud given the tiny storage in the 6, as well as most of the apps not being compatible with such an old iOS. I need the next week and a half to fly by

Meh, I wouldn’t stress too much. I’ve had to go through Argos as I completely forgot about the 1pm preorder time and was driving didn’t pull over until 2, so I missed all the main players that opened up preorders on the 15th.

The fact that the occasional phone comes back into stock for preorder at Argos would suggest that they’re working with some kind of stock level numbers. Fingers crossed.

hello all got a quick question, I've got a price locked in with UR for £799 and GoodByeTech aka Twig for £831 and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with Twig? Ive not heard much about them so not sure whether to risk it or just send it to UR 🤔

How is everyone who ordered on EE getting on?

I am in Spain until Sunday so hopefully get back to a new phone - won’t hold my breath though

First time I've purchased an iPhone and didnt get Applecare+
Hope I don't live to regret it!

Slowly moving away from all warranty purchasing - my car warranty expires tomorrow as well! Always end up paying for them but never end up using them!
I have never purchased apple care and never needed it on my iphones 5-14
