Which 15 Pro are you getting?

PSA: If you are in the UK, and are hoping to transfer your eSim from one phone, to another, note, that this cannot be done with O2 or EE. You physically have to visit a store, or had a new eSim sent out to you.
As the two leading providers in the UK, this is appalling. No wonder Apple haven't go eSim only here. Shame, as all the major telcos in Australia and New Zealand do this! Shall we blame Brexit?
Just another one confirming that I transferred my EE eSIM from 13 to 14 Pro fine last week and from 14 Pro to 15 Pro during setup. You can even get a new eSIM sent from the app without going in store.

Can I get some sense checking please? Just received my 15 Pro, immediately noticed that there’s dust or some sort of debris in/under the back glass…

Would you return for this? I imagine there will be a mix of “that’s minuscule, get a grip” and “just return it”. I’d like to swap it out but where there is no stock I’m a bit stuck. Suppose I could carry on and return it within 30 days, once I’m able to order a replacement?

Frustratingly my new watch also arrived with some small scratches on the side, and my silicone case has some weird triangular indent / mark on the top left, so to me it seems Apples quality control has gone down the toilet. Don’t mind too greatly with these but the mark on the phone is frustrating.

This also happened to me on EE unfortunately.
Tried to set up my phone last night and was unable to transfer esim over.
So was without a phone until I could visit my local EE store this morning to pick up a new physical sim.
Very frustrsting indeed.

My EE eSIM transfer (iPhone 13 PM > 15 PM) worked seamlessly for me yesterday during the setup process. Swap took less than a minute.

I would imagine each store has several of each model kept aside for this very reason and AppleCare replacements, you should be able to walk in and exchange I’d expect

I went into the O2 store today to swap my esim - he swapped it for a physical sim instead as “esims are too much trouble”….! He’d already done it by the time I queried it so maybe I’ll get it swapped to an esim at some point. It’s a pretty poor show though that the process isn’t smoother!

I was just at the Regent Street shop, there’s some regular 15’s but no 15 Pros. They, however, have a dude at the entrance that was quite rude. I understand is a very overwhelming weekend, but if other staff can still be super nice, dude, maybe you are not the best one to receive new customers at the door!

You could have insisted that you want an eSIM because you already have a SIM from another provider that you cannot swap to eSIM. Could also say it is your work SIM and want to make use of the dual SIM functionality😉

It’s 14 days isn’t it?

Bought from Amazon, so got until the 23rd Oct to return
In that case you could either ask Amazon to replace. They will likely just ask you to return and give a refund if they don’t have stock.

Or you could take it to Apple and ask them to replace the back plate under warranty.
If you go the Apple route, by getting AppleCare+ they will give you a replacement while they are repairing it. However since this is an issue from the factory I don’t know how they would handle it. Book an appointment with the Genius Bar.

regarding O2. Wasn't the iPhone an O2 exclusive when it first launched in the UK? at least the original and the 3G.
So it's odd that they haven't worked with Apple to make the transition to eSim as smooth as it is with EE

I also found out that you can convert from a physical sim to esim (EE) using iOS itself without the need of the MyEE app or contacting EE.
I did just this, it gives you the option to transfer when setting up the phone to phone transfer which I initially skipped so I could think it over.
The sim was still in my 12pro max, but just went to the mobile service settings on the 15, selected the Sim setting which prompted me to transfer my number over to eSIM.
After a short amount of time it was done and the sim in the 12 was deactivated automatically.

Is this official policy, or a decision that drivers chose to do? I personally think, that whilst it's tough and a real hassle, it's part of 'delivering' to a customer, so to inconvenience the customer is rude.

Yeah it's poor service. If it was somewhere hard to get then it shouldn't be marked as a DPD Pickup Shop but it's easily accessible via two entrances and there's parking bays next to them for delivery drivers. Shouldn't be a case of whether the driver can be arsed or not. It was pretty clear the guy in live chat was lying to me and his attitude was stinking.

My 15 Pro NT arrived just after my hourly slot opened. Unfortunately, it's my turn at work on weekend call-out...and yep, I get called out. My other half was at home luckily, so I whizzed off to work. My phone got delivered about 10 minutes after I left.
Haven't long come home, opened up my parcel and...another call-out. Brilliant lol.
Never mind, at least I know it's here safe. Haven't taken it out of the box yet. Want to take my time setting it up.

Hope everyone's had a good day, and to those waiting. It'll be worth it, but fingers crossed you don't have to wait much longer.

I better go to my next call lol

I don't think i'd return to Amazon for that... They're not likely to have kept any stock around, so your only option would be a refund or a long wait.

You could try an Apple Store to see if they'd do an advanced replacement but they also might just point you back to Amazon as the seller, given it's a fault on delivery.

I transferred my EE eSIM from my 14 Pro to the new 15 Pro during the setup process, so whilst it might be true for O2, eSIM transfer works on EE.

I would return it. Bear in mind you have 14 days to return it, no 30 as you mentioned.
But if you go to a store they sometimes have units in stock for these situations (this was told me by someone working at an Apple Store)

I returned a iPhone 14 Pro Max last year back to Apple given 6 weeks waiting time once they received the returned iPhone replacement was sent out in two days.

Yeah I may go back and ask them to convert it to an esim - I suspect he was just lazy or didn’t know how to do an esim! I didn’t care enough to insist as I just wanted my 15 PM up and running.

As an aside, he commented that mine was the first 15PM he’d seen in the flesh and their store was only allocated one 15 Pro pre-order(!) as stock is so constrained so I feel extremely fortunate to have picked one up at launch!
