For those of you who got the 15 Pro, are you happy with the battery life/feel like returning it for the 15 Pro Max?
Fantastic for me so far.

PSA: If you are in the UK, and are hoping to transfer your eSim from one phone, to another, note, that this cannot be done with O2 or EE. You physically have to visit a store, or had a new eSim sent out to you.
As the two leading providers in the UK, this is appalling. No wonder Apple haven't go eSim only here. Shame, as all the major telcos in Australia and New Zealand do this! Shall we blame Brexit?
Confused about the O2 comment.. I am with O2, I just went into the App, -> Support -> Swap your Sim and I could just request a new eSIM. Had it all transferred within 2-3 minutes.

Ask nicely and Amazon will refund you a good 20% to keep it as is and if you’re putting a case on it then win win. They’ll offer 10% but insist on 20-25%.

Unlikely. There was a time I could see it as possible but the last year or so they've really tightened up on this sort of thing unfortunately. Worth trying as I would be interested to hear the outcome.

Hey all - I must have missed the chat about which screen protectors to get this year. As I always do, I bought the (regular) ESR protectors, except this year they came with a black border, which I thought was normally an indicator of the Armorite model?

Anyway has anyone else noticed that they are way thicker than last year, and also that they obscure a part of the screen? Only about 5px in my testing, but still. Detracts somewhat from the thinner bezels!

Also I know I am late but for old time's sake: Got my 15 PM in Blue Titanium yesterday at the Stratford Apple Store :)

Does this apply to the Amorite ones as well?

I’m well versed in the Amazon partial refund game but this seems pretty optimistic 😂 You want me to flat out ask for some compo? For curiosity sake I will but end of the day I could really do with finding an replacement phone 😕

If anyone is choosing to use musicMagpie's 'smartdrop kiosk' - I'd heavily recommend being prepared for a complete farce. If you're from West Yorkshire - avoid the Morley ASDA store.

Took my 14 Pro to trade in about 1PM today, all checked fine and got to the 'accept' final screen. As soon as I clicked the big green button, it threw an 'out of service, please call this number if your phone is stuck' screen. 40 minute wait to get through, but when I did they ran some checks and confirmed the device was in the machine and would manually pay me. The machine promises same day payment, but I now have a 2 working day hold. Annoying, £560 in limbo.

I've returned to ASDA tonight assuming the above would be a one off to trade in my mum's 12 Mini, they're offering £185. First has an issue reading the IMEI so I clean the screen and wahey, we're off, all the checks are working and completed. Click accept again and it throws an error "Error accepting device" to which the machine starts to whirr away at me and again, refuse to spit my phone out. As I'd spoken on the phone earlier I knew ASDA could open the machine, so along comes the store manager who was fine, but confirmed he now can't give me my phone back as they'll be investigated for a missing phone by MM. So not only am I now without a 14 Pro and 12 Mini, I'm without the £560 + £185 they were valued at too.

I got email confirmation of the manual payment on my 14 Pro so I've followed up with my 2nd problem of the day. From the sounds of it, it's not too rare of an issue at that store. Clearly the machine is broken - so definitely avoid the Morley ASDA if you are looking at a 'SMARTdrop kiosk,' oh and the Dewsbury store also doesn't work, so don't try that one either.
Given that they now charge a deductible for using the SMARTDrop Kiosks it maybe somewhat foolish of me to think they might start maintaining these machines properly?

I appreciate there’ll be people who use them with zero issues but it doesn’t leave the greatest of impressions.

How are you getting such good battery life? Have you turned some things off?
I upgrade annually and never restore as I like to set up from new. I did the same this year and so far the battery is great. Nothing turned off and I’ve been using it a lot as you can see from the screen on time.

How is the best way to snag an iPhone 15 pro max? How is the best way to track availability in my local Apple stores? Is there a set time of day they become available?
Have a look at the last 5-6 pages of the thread, this has been answered multiple times already.

Sorry to hear about your issues. Mileage must vary depending on how old the machine is or lens clean. I literally walked into Asda today at Retford and was walking back out after 5 mins after accepting my quote. That also includes taking my old phone out of its case and taking the screen protector off which has been on since day 1. Very very good experience for me.

Ok, well after a bit of forward and back they’ve given £200 back as a gift card. Now I just need to decide how bothered I am about the mark, which sadly for me being an OCD maniac will bug me.

Bloody hell that's a result. Apple will probably replace it for free as well under their standard warranty.

Just live chat them through your order history. I’ve never directly asked for it, usually just provide some reasoning for why you don’t necessarily want a refund and they’ll come back to you with an offer. No reason why you can’t just flat out ask though. Just depends how bold you are feeling.

It’s £169 repair from Apple I think, which is what I showed Amazon (they started at £54). I might give Apple a ring tomorrow and scout out if they can help, have had mixed dealings with Apple in the past so not overly confident with them.

Good result. Now claim an Apple Care express replacement and pay the £30 charge. At this stage, there’ll be brand new units.

Confused about the O2 comment.. I am with O2, I just went into the App, -> Support -> Swap your Sim and I could just request a new eSIM. Had it all transferred within 2-3 minutes.
Did you do that on your new or old phone? O2 transferred my eSIM on my old phone to a physical SIM which they told me to put in my new phone. Are you saying I could use this process to switch my physical SIM to an eSIM on the same (new) phone?

That would be handy…

I’m not sure if their live chat is 24/7 or if they have a closing time, but if they do have a closing time then flat out ask for it 5 minutes before, the agent you speak to will want to go home and probably just agree to it :apple:

Great result though, keep the phone and you’ll have a case on it anyway probably!
