EE are more expensive but their speeds are great which is why i guess.

I fear they will charge at least £80 a month for the 256GB model. Although the data they are giving you 100GB a month i believe.
It's scary times we live in
In a couple of years deals will start to reach £100 a month and I'm not even joking!! A couple of years ago you could get a high end phone for like £38 a month lol!!!!

I agree with you.....EE are probs the best network in the U.K in terms of data speeds etc...
I heard Virgin use EE's network but the negative is that their speeds are capped to 40mbps.

Thinking back on some of my old tariffs I think I paid around £32 a month for my iPhone 3G. And then it slowly crept up.
I bought the iPhone 4 outright and just kept the same rolling data plan. iPhone 5 was around the £40 mark when I recontracted.

I’m with vodafone but probably switching to EE sim only.

I don’t like the way EE price their tariffs so if I pay more I can get faster 4G speeds.

If I buy X GB of data I don’t want to be artificially slowed because I only need X GB and not twice as much data.

I want the fastest the network will support at that location, and I don’t mind if that’s super fast or just fast 4G - but don’t artificially tinker with my speed.

Ah one of my favourites. Had this on the 6 and 6s.

After reading these comments about AppleCare+ I think I will stump up the extra cash for it and cancel my gadget insurance, (I am incredibly careful with my phones) this will take the sting out of paying more each month.

Except that AppleCare doesn't cover loss or theft just damage and faults. But maybe that is covered under you home insurance. Our mobile insurance is included in our current account benefits which we have no intention of cancelling as it also include travel insurance, breakdown cover, home emergency and other stuff. We have used all this cover!

I wonder when they will be shipped in the UK... I guess they're in the country already?

I don't think so. Judging by posts from our US friends on other threads they are en route from China to Germany. Will probably get to UK around Wednesday evening/very early Thursday morning.

I assume that they're doing what they did last time: DHL them out on a pallet.. that said, my 7 shipped by this time last year.

Yeah I hate all this capped rubbish tbh
Virgin use EE's network but their speeds are capped and I think they're cheaper than EE.
The iPhone 8plus 256gb is just too expensive tbh. I can't see any reasonable deal so might just get the note 8.

I've always found O2 to be quite reasonable.
They've not offered any deals - the tariffs are not available yet only indicative pricing which is basically £72 & £77 a month. If I upgrade with O2 I'll lay some more money upfront to bring that down. As a current O2 customer I'll also get an extra 10GB of data a month which essentially allows me to pick a cheaper tariff and not be worse off.

I think Virgin do 36 month contracts and thats why they can be cheaper.
Wow 3 year contracts are long...too long.
But for new customers 02 is very expensive tbh
Note 8 for £58 is just expensive

For those looking for good sim only deals it's always worth keeping your eye on the hotukdeals site. I've picked up 3 decent deals from there, my current iPhone sim only o2, my mifi on EE and my daughters first contract on plus net (probably the best of the lot at £5pm for 1GB, which she only needs on the bus, rest of the time she's using my mifi/home wifi..)

How do you find the 02 network? Is their data speeds slow?

Sorry, OT but what bank are you with? Wouldnt mind having all that included.

I have similar with NatWest. http://personal.natwest.com/persona...current-accounts/reward-platinum-account.html

The insurance is pretty good as the repairs are all done with genuine manufacturers parts.

I’m still weighing up the Apple care this time around. Never had it on a phone before. Good that you get a refund for the percentage of the remaining coverage if you do have it and sell the phone in a years time.

A lot of iPhone 8s are shipping from Pennsylvania to people in the US.

Sorry yes I am following S3 watch tracking threads!!

TSB but we do pay £25 per month for the 'privilege'. We have a Premier account which is now closed to new customers but I think they still offer most of these benefits with theirplatinum account at £17pm.

Should add the excess can be expense. NatWest is £100 but if you lost your phone, it’s a price with paying

Still OT but Nationwide offer same without home emergency cover for £13. Just gone up from £10.

Does that refund of AppleCare apply to IUP - I assume not as it’s presumed you’ll upgrade after a year.

For the first time since 2010's iPhone 4, I'm not buying outright.

I've got a really good Vodafone SIM Only deal (40Gb/unltd/unltd) for £16 per month, but Ive decided to get in on the iUP action, as I can get £477 for my 7+, so will use that to reduce/eliminate my monthly payments until upgrade time next year! :D

That’s a heck of a deal. Need to start looking as my sim only runs out in October. Paying £17 with VF for 8GB. Want to stay with them for the wifi calling - all networks are crappy in my house so need that

Certainly better coverage than they used to be, to be honest I have the best of both worlds now as the mifi is with me, so if it's looking like a ropey o2 signal I can use the EE mifi. EEs speeds are without a shadow of a doubt much faster.
Here at home, upstairs I can get home broadband type speeds, 40-60mb down IIRC for example. We appear to be in a location with their fastest 4G, I could probably get more if I went outside...

Doubt it would as you pay monthly where the cost is made up of 1/20 of the phone and Apple care
