Certainly better coverage than they used to be, to be honest I have the best of both worlds now as the mifi is with me, so if it's looking like a ropey o2 signal I can use the EE mifi. EEs speeds are without a shadow of a doubt much faster.
Here at home, upstairs I can get home broadband type speeds, 40-60mb down IIRC for example. We appear to be in a location with their fastest 4G, I could probably get more if I went outside...
Yeah EE seem to be the best network these days

That’s a heck of a deal. Need to start looking as my sim only runs out in October. Paying £17 with VF for 8GB. Want to stay with them for the wifi calling - all networks are crappy in my house so need that

Apple's wireless carrier support pages at the link below suggest that all four of the big UK networks support WiFi calling on iPhone. I know EE definitely do, and I think Three introduced it earlier this year. EE and O2 both support visual voicemail too.

o2 are also slowly rolling out VoLTE too; I know Three & EE already have it and Vodafone are working towards it.

I'm on o2 and have to say whilst I've not encountered LTE-A or CA yet data speeds are much better than they were this time last year.

As for Wi-Fi Calling only EE & Three allow for voice & SMS over it; o2 is for calls only.

Yeah that's why I'm avoiding 02
Heard their data speed in London are horrific
Apparently EE is the best

Are you sure?

Apple don't supply parts to anyone else AFAIK, so this may invalidate any warranty you have?

Only based on what they say in their policy book

They come from Carphone Warehouse via Aviva

Which I think means they lock to the network of the first SIM you use, even if the original handset was unlocked. Had a it of back and forth with the insurance, Vodafone and Apple for my 5 when it had water damaged. VF did unlock it eventually.

For me personally, 3rd party iPhone repair insurance is a no go.

I much prefer to go to an Apple Store, knowing I'll get it repaired/replaced quickly.

CPW are an AASP (Project Apple)
Not quite, certain CPW stores (London?) are Apple approved repairers.

I believe that they have a custom agreement with Apple, the technicians who work in their stores are certified, whereby the store is authorised to carry out service with CPW holding a multi tenet AASP license.

The stores may be indidually AASP, but they are under a single umbrella.

Yes agree that’s why I’m contemplating Apple care this time around. Any know if the screen repairs on Apple care would cover cosmetic damage/ scratches etc and not just a broken screen?

Thinking if I go case-less and no screen protector again this year, if say in a year I wanted to repair some of the scratches etc before selling

It's not all CPW stores though, just specific ones.

...well, using the IP you're not going to really see or feel that £200 difference. The IP page doesn't say if the upfront cost of the X will be more than £69 (that I can see, anyway). So I either go for the 8 Plus, 64gb, and pay £36.50 a month or the X 64gb, and pay £46.50 a month. For a measly extra tenna, I may as well opt for the X....!

I'm so indecisive!!
:rolleyes::p
I am in the same boat as you, so undecided between 8+ and X.

Well yes... there is a cost of training and certification of the stores (that have MEL requirements)
Yes, but that's why my preference is still AppleCare.

Nation/worldwide stores, all offering same day repairs/replacements, that keep your warranty intact (in fact, you get a minimum of a 3 month warranty on any replacement units).

I've finally read the entire thread before making my first post since the launch i think i'll be going for the iphone x i'm sure there will be things that i don't like about it but i'll probably end up buying the 256gb model although i've hardly used 50gb on my 256gb 7plus so if it came to it i could downgraded to the 64gb model.

I've searched amazon and other website for wireless chargers that can charge several at the same time but i'm finding very few that do that so the apple power looks interesting.

I've always gone with o2 but i'm finding the EE max tariff with 100GB really appealing does anyone know if there is a limit on the 100gb that can be used for tethering ? Currently i'm on 20gb with o2 so 100gb is very appealing.

I wonder if I will notice the extra wait going from 6S+ to the 8+, I know it's only a small amount of difference but sometimes these small amounts can make all the difference if a phone is already on the margin of ease of use?

I am getting twitchy about my iPhone 8+ order now & keep wondering if I should wait for the X instead even with my reservations what with it being a first generation device & that darn notch on it.
