There's a big difference between selling an "unlocked" phone and one that will lock to 1st SIM (which is what CPW's iPhones do).

Just do a bit of Googling if you don't believe me.

They sell properly unlocked if bought simfree now, go in and ask if you want more proof than their website. It changed about midway through selling the iPhone 6s.

And lol, did you click thorough on your “Also...” link to the sim free page?

This is the page your link goes to, notice the phones shown?

You're not paying attention...

You can buy one of those "unlocked" and SIM Free" iPhones from CPW, but... it will lock to the first SIM you put in it.

Just Google to see how many people have been had by this shady practice.

You’ve been told it’s been changed and shown proof, either produce proof (further than saying “google for stories”) as most stories are based on ignorant or outdated opinions like yours or stop spreading misinformation.

Nothing personal, but it’s wrong to keep spouting wrong or outdated info. You made about 10 posts in 2 pages last week repeating it over and over.

Here you go: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=c...+sim&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-gb&client=safari

No, it won’t, they don’t do that with sim free stock anymore...

(Do I need to make it a bigger font as well as bold to seem more right?)

Go try and find the old “locks to first sim” warning that used to be on the bottom of each iPhone page on the CPW website.

OK so I called them to ask.

the iPhones CPW now sell are unlocked and do not lock to the first sim carrier you put in. This has changed recently from the practise of locking to the first sim.

Are Carphone Warehouse Business phones unlocked?

We prefer to give our customers the freedom to change networks therefore most of our phones we sell aren’t locked to a network.

The main exception to this rule are iPhones. Apple’s software means although you will buy it SIM free, it will become locked to the first network you use it with, e.g. as soon as you put your new SIM in your new iPhone it will then become locked to that network"

Click on your link, and then go to the 2nd CPW result (ignoring the 2015 Giffgaff forum link above it).

All Apple iPhones are now unlocked when purchasing through Carphone Warehouse.

What does a business contract page from 2014 have to do with sim free unlocked handsets?

OK lads lets put this one to bed :)

As mentioned in my previous post, CPW have confirmed they no longer lock iPhones to the first sim inserted. This is a recent change in practise.

This is correct, and hopefully other users won’t continue perpetuating the old story.

Yes, I saw that on the website, too, so I'm still not 100% convinced. Just two or three months ago there was small print on the CPW website saying iPhones would lock to the first SIM installed. That seems to have disappeared now, though.

OK, just seen your post with the webchat. Assuming 'Thabo' knows what he is talking about, that's good news...

also confirmed over the phone to me too.

Anybody order the Apple Watch series 3 to go with your 8 or 8 plus? I see the wait on those are now 3-4 weeks.

I've never even once looked at a smart watch android wear or apple as for me the downside is having to charge it just as much as a phone if not more.

OT post but for everyone who has an Apple Watch what do you use the for besides telling the time!

The biggest thing for me is notifications ... knowing straight away if something needs further attention or not. Saves me constantly getting my phone out of my pocket. After that, the activity stuff.
