I'd definitely wait as it will make your new phone all the more different / exciting. I would wait but the X is a bit further away and I may well need to update when my s3 Watch arrives if not for app updates in the meantime.

I'm definitely waiting until I get my 8 Plus before using iOS 11 - not gonna update my 7!!

Say what? Seriously! What about the 'only £10 more a month for the X'? You are not going to end up as indecisive and cutiekitty last year? The saga ;-)

....yea, I know - I am SO indecisive!!! :rolleyes:o_O:p

Well, I know I said it's only another £10 for the X but I wasn't really taking into account the cost of the 8 Plus as well! The 8 Plus is less than a tenner extra a month than what i am currently paying for the 7 but the X will be 'just another tenner' on top of that !!! So i'd be looking at around £40 odd for the iPhone X and £30 ish for my monthly EE sim only deal - not sure I am happy to pay around £70 a month for phone & contract + I'm not totally sold on the 'no home button' thing of the X!!!

What is your deadline for sending your handset to Envirofone? Have you taken up their usual 7 extension offer? If they still do that - they did last year. If you have time you could always get the 8+ on IUP and try for a few days to see if you like the size etc.

I received an email from them, on 17th Sept stating that I hadn't yet sent in my iPhone 7 to them and that my price was locked in for 14 days. My original confirm email from them was on 12th Sep, so I guess I will essentially have had 3 weeks worth of that locked in price!!

DPD are awesome never ever had one problem with them and I would happily pay for DPD over any other free courier any day of the week.

So who thinks they may get theirs a day early then?

That's good then. Obviously things have either changed or the information I was provided was incorrect. I'm at my 11 months so I hand my phone to apple on friday and get my 8 Plus.

Just spotted these on the iUP page as well:

Can I upgrade even if I haven’t made my 11 monthly payments yet?
Yes, you can by making an early upgrade payment equivalent to the loan balance up to 11 monthly payments, when you upgrade at an Apple Store.

Do I need to contact Barclays to close my loan before visiting the store?
No, we’ll close the loan for you when you upgrade through the iPhone Upgrade Programme. If you haven’t made 11 monthly payments, we can take the early upgrade payment in store when you pick up your new iPhone.

My order for Store Pickup STILL hasn't changed from processing.

I mean come on are they driving it up tomorrow morning, Pfft. Not ordered for store pickup before its always been for home delivery. There have been than many stutters with Apple saying they couldn't Auth the payment when my card provider said it was fine.

Well fingers still crossed for tomorrow pick up but I have my doubts. o_O

Just got an email from Envirofone saying:
"Your price is locked for 14 days. If we receive your device after 14 days then we can only give you the website price."
They're implying price won't stay locked after 14 days... has this always happened, and they give an extension anyway with the original agreed price, or have they changed their policies this year?
Anyone else waiting to send theirs?

....I would assume it would not be locked in after this period but some posts above mine suggest otherwise....?!

Just checked the Envirofone website (not signed into my account) and iPhone 7 (32gb) is now offered at £330 (I have £366 locked in).

I don't understand - if you're having doubts about getting the X then surely that means you want the X?

I think the launch day is Friday (22nd). Just saying so you don't make a trip to the store tomorrow...

For the past 2 years they have sent an email out on around the 9th/10th day asking of you have changed your mind or if you want another 7 days with a link to click for each

My first and last post in this thread explained my disappointment in Apple and the pricing of the new iPhone. I thought it was £100 over priced for the 64gb plus. Fast forward a week and I have ended up buying myself the new iPhone

I managed to keep myself from paying £799 for the 8 plus 64gb. I managed to get it through CPW for £698. I will be keeping my £18 3 SIM which gives me 600 mins unlimited texts and all you can eat data with 30gb tethering.

Inspired by this post, and against my instinct, I’ve started looking at CPW deals. If you are considering them with Voda and want Wi-fi calling, be aware of the following. I also asked about their ‘unlocked’ iPhones

Also, for the first time I’m considering buying a (cellular) Apple Watch and therefore going with EE this year. Anyone know how / if the watch will work with Wi-fi calling? It would be great to leave the phone behind and be able to use WFC on the watch....

....sorry I don't follow??! The reason I am not overly sold on the X is the whole 'no home button' thing! Yes, I know it has face recognition but I see that as very gimmicky (there are loads of situations where it would be very impractical trying to look at your phone just to unlock it!).

My email I received from Envirofone last year offering extension.

.....ok, cool - thats good to know that I can still expect to receive this email! That'll give me more time to try out my 8 Plus before sending in my 7!
:)

My iPhone 7 preorder last year came with DPD and my cases for my iPhone 8 plus preorder came from synchreon but arrived with DPD.
Personally DPD are the best UK courier so hopefully I get mine with them again!

When would you need to look at your phone and not unlock it though?

It still has raise to wake so time can be seen, siri is from side button. If it unlocked and you don't want it to, tap side button or put it down and it will lock again.

I’m off to the Apple store to get the screen replaced on my 7+, before I pass it on to my son...
any idea if apple would repair a screen with light scratches under apple care+?

I locked in on the 12th and then received a 'Reminder Email' on the 17th :

.....saying I'm locked in for a further 14 days.

Does this then mean I'm likely to get a third email asking if I want to extend?!

My iPhone 6 Plus 64GB is worth £243 to Envirfone in good working condition.

Does anyone know what it would be worth with a smashed screen? Just wondering wether I send it off to those guys for a quote or have the screen repaired first.

DPD are awesome never ever had one problem with them and I would happily pay for DPD over any other free courier any day of the week.

I know my DPD guys first and last name i have regular monthly deliveries with them from multiple companies and we always have a chat about the gadgets he knows when theres a big launch of a product i'll be on his delivery list. DPD are probably the best delivery service we have in the UK i don't mind paying extra for that level of service. Unfortunately some companies don't give you the option of DPD i currently have a pre order for the project scorpio xbox one with Game and Amazon Game use DPD while Amazon use their own delivery service which is nowhere near the quality of DPD. I do have a nice discount on the Amazon order so i will probably end up going with them though.

I would suspect that they will take off at least the cost of an Apple official screen replacement if not a bit more for the hassle.
You could always send it in, they do say that if it's damaged they'll value it and email you a revalued price. If you don't like the new price they'll return the handset FOC.

Not a further 14 days, 14 days from the date you locked that price in (12th)

You should receive the extension email shortly. However, just because they did this in previous years doesn't guarantee they will this year.

I am flying out to Greece this Friday from Birmingham airport. Anyone ever bought a new iPhone from the Dixons store in the airport? Might see if they have any 8+ in stock Friday morning. Or perhaps I should wait and get from Apple or JL when back in the UK.
