Yes, total 21 days from the date you locked in after extension. Kind of confusing confirmation message. Adds 7 days to the lock in date but reads as if that’s when it has to be sent in by. In any case, it’ll be 14 days after the date confirmed on the screen you see attached (this trade was confirmed on the 6th)

I am flying out to Greece this Friday from Birmingham airport. Anyone ever bought a new iPhone from the Dixons store in the airport? Might see if they have any 8+ in stock Friday morning. Or perhaps I should wait and get from Apple or JL when back in the UK.

I tried this with the SE but Dixon’s at Heathrow didn’t have launch day stock.

Have a tracking number for my iPhone 8 Plus now (via my02) so am hoping I'll be as lucky as I was last year; by the time I'd arrived home DPD had been!

Well, I know I said it's only another £10 for the X but I wasn't really taking into account the cost of the 8 Plus as well! The 8 Plus is less than a tenner extra a month than what i am currently paying for the 7 but the X will be 'just another tenner' on top of that !!! So i'd be looking at around £40 odd for the iPhone X and £30 ish for my monthly EE sim only deal - not sure I am happy to pay around £70 a month for phone & contract + I'm not totally sold on the 'no home button' thing of the X!!!



I received an email from them, on 17th Sept stating that I hadn't yet sent in my iPhone 7 to them and that my price was locked in for 14 days. My original confirm email from them was on 12th Sep, so I guess I will essentially have had 3 weeks worth of that locked in price!!

Fair enough - everything adds up doesn't it? Although I would have thought you could get your EE tariff down to £20ish. They have an 18gb tariff for £21 per month

Just checked the Envirofone website (not signed into my account) and iPhone 7 (32gb) is now offered at £330 (I have £366 locked in).

I locked in on the 12th and then received a 'Reminder Email' on the 17th :

As others have maybe mentioned since you need to get the third email and click on the link to opt into an extension but beware I didn't get it last year so had to contact them and ask for the 7 day extension. At least I am pretty sure I didn't get it but I had about 4 trade in deal set up with them over various date to try and extend my time due to delay with the Jet Black models. I got offered extensions for most but not for the one I was actually relying on using!!

So please don't assume it will automatically happen! You could even contact them now and ask for the 7 day extension to the original date (say you have had to go away with work or some other lame excuse )

Also sometimes their prices fluctuate upwards a little. I noticed last year it increased a little again after a few days of the price going down. I guess they have to stay competitive with other trade in companies and may increase if they need to boost their stock for selling.

I assume that they wont do this for the Iphone payments plan though............

I wouldn't have any aversions to doing so but I would have thought that the chances of them having stock on launch day to be very slim to nil.

Me too. I ordered Saturday at 1PM although my phones were still in stock (delivered 22nd of Sept) on the Apple website 2 days later but I have no idea how much stock EE will hold.

I'd like to think I'll get it Friday as stock seemed to hold up quite well.

Bloody hell. I ordered two 8+'s 64GB, one Silver one Space Grey. Hoping for Friday too but I know Silver is in less demand than Space Grey

For the first time ever I’ll try caseless. Considering IUP comes with Apple Care+ I can afford 2 broken screens for the price of Apples leather case.

I am very careful with my phones so hopefully I’ll be okay.

I got one of these and will go without protection on front and back.
worth noting that 7/Plus cases should fit the 8/Plus as Apple advertise theirs as fitting both generations.

Oh well never had one so it the functionality comes in stages thats fine! Seemed quite an overly critical review IMO though..

Have you had an Apple leather case before? I stated on another post that never again until the start a 2 or 3 month free upgrade programme! Just got so grubby and dirty I couldn't stand it on my phone any longer. Some people like the wron in grungy look but it's not for me. In fairness it was a really light colour - cream or taupe and was on my 6s but

Not thought about a case for the X yet (plenty time and not ordering until I know when my X is coming) but I love my Jet Black Spigen case on my 7+ particularly since I wanted and couldn't get a Jet Black 7+.

I ordered mine through o2 as well. Paying £63 per month for an iPhone 8 Plus with a free screen replacement 20GB data (10GB extra for being an existing customer) and a free upgrade next year. I

Did I read correctly that the band on the X is steel so is subject to scratches? I have started to use skins again and they feel so much nicer than a case, zero drop protection but if your careful you should be ok

Yes, it's steel, but you can buff out scratches on the "untreated" SS like on the watch

It’s not certain what’s going to happen as this’ll be the first year that we upgrade. To start the upgrade programme you had to go into the store to set up but seeing they already have the information I don’t see why we can’t get the new phone delivered.

As for AppleCare plus, it’ll just start again with the new phone.
