It’s not certain what’s going to happen as this’ll be the first year that we upgrade. To start the upgrade programme you had to go into the store to set up but seeing they already have the information I don’t see why we can’t get the new phone delivered.

As for AppleCare plus, it’ll just start again with the new phone.

I'm on the iUP from last year when I got my 7 Plus. When I went through the upgrade process last Friday via the app, I had to select to pick up in-store, so picking my 8 Plus up on Friday

So you've not had to put a deposit down or anything?

did you get your phone last year on the launch day?

the only times I've had a pre-order ship from China is when I've not been able to secure a launch day phone, the 7+ had slipped to 2-3 weeks and came from China via about 6 other countries.

It was an iPhone jet black, in the initial order queue, can’t remember if I got it launch day or not but I remember loads of people complaining about getting a safe after mine

You need to undergo a fresh credit check, etc.

IMO it should be really done online...

For the first time ever I’ll try caseless. Considering IUP comes with Apple Care+ I can afford 2 broken screens for the price of Apples leather case.

I am very careful with my phones so hopefully I’ll be okay.

I hadn't thought of it like that. I like the case-less look but was considering the leather case. The Apple leather case I have on my 6plus is physically falling apart after 3 years.

On the iUP with Apple care, anyone know what the cost is if you smash the back of it?

For the 8 and Plus: £25 screen, £79 anything else

Yep, I'm really considering this with my iPhone X, when I get it.. if I get it.

Just seen on EE that the 8 plus for annual upgrade for 100GB of data is £82.99 a month! If it costs that much for the 8 plus god knows what they will charge with the iphone x.

Makes me think IUP might be my best bet

I guess we should see some movement either this evening or tomorrow morning ... possibly tomorrow evening?

They're charging £82.99 for the 64GB X with 100GB.

The X prices for EE are already up.

Does anyone know what courier Apple uses for Northern Ireland ?
I’m working all day so trying to call to a depot to collect it

Thanks

That's really poor for it to fail that badly.
I'm really interested in a non LTE 3 because my 0 is slow at anything other than the basics (and the battery is regularly dying by 6pm) but I'm still stupidly holding out for them to bring the non-LTE SS version..
Many tech sites now reporting that this a wifi bug. I wouldn’t let it put you off a cellular model, Grubers review for example said the watch worked perfectly on LTE for calls / texts / Siri.

I'm probably biased as i think i'm going to go with EE this time but if you add the IUP and a sim only its not far off that price and you get 100gb and apple music for 6 month which most sim only deals don't. For me i think thats the one i'm going to go for as i do use alot of date and hopefully EE allow tethering with the 100gb could all change though still over a month before pre orders start.

Those aren’t confirmed prices though as the 256GB version hasn’t been displayed yet

I wanted to go with EE as I have plans to get the LTE watch and maybe if the tariffs are huge it might put people off lol

I’m also in NI - not sure of the answer but will be home all day so may be able to tell you if it arrives early on!

not sure i'd pay much more than 82.99 for an iphone x and i can manage with 64gb currently on 44gb on my 7plus 256gb. Although if it was another £5 but with a bigger deposit then i'd probably go for the 256gb.

I can see the 256gb iphone x being nearly 100 pounds monthly on EE though as they know people will always be tempted by the larger capacity.

IUP is only over 20 months which makes the comparisons seem closer. 4 months isn’t much but it’s over 300 quid on some of these contracts. There’s also AppleCare to consider.

If you need 100GB then fair enough, but the 20GB EE contract is probably only a tenner cheaper which is really a rip off.
