Hmmm.... read all the comments which seem to be either panic and moaning or scepticism as to whether the report is accurate or as bleak as suggested. Hopefully it will make more people plump for an 8 and slightly lessen demand but I think the impact/ chances of that are minimal.

I will be poised and ready to order at 8.01am but if I have to wait a few more weeks beyond November 3rd I can live with that (esp if most others are too). Since am getting my first :apple: Watch on Friday and am still perfectly happy with my 7+ I don't mind as much as might ordinarily but I'd really like by Christmas or failing that my birthday/ holiday in March. Though maybe not the latter since it will impact on my ability and justification to get the next model in autumn 2018. January can be a miserable month so a new toy would be lovely then :D

Not much chance of that will be getting my daughter ready for school unless I get her ready a bit earlier so I can quickly grab my laptop and try pre-ordering on IUP.

Let her dress herself at day!! This is serious

I know this is a very broad question but, is Apple care worth it in your opinion? I’m insured with my Lloyd’s TSB account (with £100 excess) but being put off using that reading people’s comments with insurance in this thread. So I’m looking at apples new prices for screen damage and I would not be happy spending £175 for screen replacement and £400 for other damage and thinking Apple care seems like a good investment (£150 for 8 plus)

No not if you have that insurance. I have it too (TSB) We discussed this a few pages back and also AppleCare doesn't cover theft or loss. Though some people were unhappy with quality of insurance repairs and suggested may not use genuine Apple parts which could invalidate warranties.

o_O

I think Apple are just delaying to ensure this becomes the longest and longest running thread on Macrumours!

Many tech sites now reporting that this a wifi bug. I wouldn’t let it put you off a cellular model, Grubers review for example said the watch worked perfectly on LTE for calls / texts / Siri.

Yep, it is a wifi bug. The iPhone suffers from the same thing. At work mine will hold onto our wifi hotspots for dear life, even when the signal is unusable, rather than switch to 4G. Perhaps Apple can sort it out once and for all across the whole range...

All the X rumours have been pretty spot on, similar rumblings for production issues with the Jet Black last year rang true. I’ll just plan for a long wait and if anything I’ll just be pleasantly surprised!

Getting the LTE watch? Never been keen on the watch previously but this year my heads been turned. Don’t really want to lose my cheap all you can eat sim only deal to move to EE

Inspired by this post, and against my instinct, I’ve started looking at CPW deals. If you are considering them with Voda and want Wi-fi calling, be aware of the following. I also asked about their ‘unlocked’ iPhones

Also, for the first time I’m considering buying a (cellular) Apple Watch and therefore going with EE this year. Anyone know how / if the watch will work with Wi-fi calling? It would be great to leave the phone behind and be able to use WFC on the watch....

By the way the deal I got was that I paid £759 up front for the device and took out a 1 month contract at £13.99. I will cancel the contract immediately meaning for the £799 i'll pay £773 (£26 saving) quidco have £75 cashback with them so once I get that my saving will be £101. The cashback is with any iPhone 8 or 8 Plus.

If you can pay upfront or maybe use the paypal 4 months interest free (if they accept it) you may save some money. This would allow you to get a vodafone red sim or an EE one if you wanted to get the a cellular watch 3.

Hopefully the X does not go to January, if that's the case I'll probs just pick up a 8+ even tho the difference is minimal compared to a 7+ :(

Me and three friends want to buy in one order, how many iPhone X's can you order at once?

Still no movement on my 8+ on EE's order page. Just says preorder confirmed. Guess I'm not getting it Friday. Even though they've taken the upfront payment already...

Well that's weird my EE order just updated and now has an expected delivery date of today. Can't see that happening.

maybe you will get a text today if it is to be delivered tomorrow

Haven’t heard anything from Carphone Warehouse regarding dispatch of my order yet, not sure whether to get worried or not! They’re still advertising a 22 Sep delivery date for all silver/gold iPhone 8s though.

No movement on Apple which is odd as they've always shipped them on Wednesdays.

If you ordered from Apple and are expecting delivery tomorrow then you will see movement on your order later this afternoon/evening. The phone will be at Syncreon in Hinckley and you will get notification as the assign couriers and they collect the devices. From then (usually UK Mail, DPD or UPS) will provide a tracking reference.

Apologies if this has been asked but, when doing the iUP instore, it says I need to bring employment details and my addresses for the last 3 years. Do I need to bring payslips and utility bills? Or what else..?

That's one of my bugbears about the iPhone when out and about. Same thing can happen when it comes across a hotspot and you're in the middle of doing something as it tries to get on to it and you're left with nothing happening at all.

Is this an iPhone behaviour or does it happen on all mobile platforms?
