My delivery status was tracked as "not completed" at lunch time, there were two people at home awaiting the delivery, there was no calling card either. So i called them up and was told he left a calling card in my brown front door, i said i don't have a brown front door it's a white door.

Now have to wait again to see if he can try again later, otherwise it will be Monday 🙁

Well, Ive already packed up the iPhone 8 I received this morning, ready for return to Apple. I just don’t see any improvements over the 7 Plus that I have. Admittedly, I did get an 8 and it seemed ridiculously small compared to my Plus but there just did not seem to be any great improvements. I’m going to hold on for the X which does look like a “new” iPhone. I don’t want to put anyone off getting the 8 or 8 Plus but this is just my opinion. I also got a gold one that Ive never had before and again I wast impressed with this either.

It’s more of a upgrade for the 6 / 6s owners I guess

Incredibly underwhelmed. opened up package, switched it on and instantly saw a bright white screen at the top and yellow at the bottom. so ugly I gave up setting it up halfway through. on phone to apple, best they can do is book me an appointment next week where they may or may not have a replacement. epic fail Apple 🙁

gone back to the 6s

been on hold for 10 mins
 
So I arrived at 1050 for my 1100 appointment. Was seen straight in, phone brought out, iUP sign up and credit check completed. Brought the Belkin dock I was looking at and left. All in under 25 minutes.

Phone set up on a restore from iCloud backup as it was the only way I could see to transfer across my Apple watch info. I'll go through tonight and remove any apps I no longer need that have been downloaded.

First impressions, it's quick, very quick. A little heavier in the hand than the 6Plus I'm coming over from. All in all, I'm happy with it.

Nope. Probably won't be either until it's launched.

Noob question.

Does wireless charging work in a case?

If it does I'll order a wireless charger but if not I'll give it a miss.
 
Just finishing setting up my Space Grey 8 Plus

From what I've seen up to now not overly keen on this True Tone, makes the screen look dim and a bit yellowish colour. When I turn it off it goes back to being white. Will give it a try tonight when I'm out and see how it looks

From my experience with Samsung S7, I'd imagine it all depends how thick the case is - I'm using a Spine case and it's still charging wirelessly

Hi hum... I can’t believe we have to wait over a month before we can even preorder! I want to buy something! I’ve been browsing the apple site but there’s nothing I can justify! (Like I can justify the X either 😛)
Ready for a shiny new apple product!

...so does the 'Restore from iCloud backup' also restore ALL the Apple Watch info as well (i.e. Do I have to unpair my watch from my iPhone 7 and do a backup, then do a Restore from iCloud on my 8 Plus and then pair back the watch, or does the Restore from backup also restore the paired watch to the new phone?)?
 
Is it strange that the battery was at 0% on my 8 plus when I tried powering on for first time? Had to plug it into power for a few mins before I could start setting up.

That is odd mine have always come at least 50 to 60% charged out the box
 
Furious with UKMail.. got a ‘sorry we missed you’ note which said I could collect from the depot.. website and phones says I cannot do this.

Also tried to arrange redelivery for later today but get an error and it now says Delivery is Monday 25th!.

Called them again and get an ‘if you have missed your iPhone 8 delivery window, we will attempt redelivery between 7AM-2PM on Saturday 23rd. Which one is it UKMail?! Upset as today was to be my first ever iPhone launch day product. I will wait until tomorrow but it sucks!

Yep first time, I thought the phone wasn’t working at first .. seems to be doing ok now but I’ll monitor the battery life

That sucks did they really miss you or did they just pretend they tried to deliver it to you?
 
Not sure if this has been answered before, but does anyone know if the iPhone X colours will be the same as the Silver and Space Grey of the 8? Thinking I might want to go and play with the models if so to get an idea which colour I want to get for the X...
