I tried this on my 8 Plus, like I used to on my 7 Plus, and my phone just screamed at me and launched SOS!!

You need to press and hold, not press press press, SOS mode is activated by 5 presses of the power button so if it’s gone to SOS it’s read the power button holding as multiple presses.

Not sure if this has been answered before, but does anyone know if the iPhone X colours will be the same as the Silver and Space Grey of the 8? Thinking I might want to go and play with the models if so to get an idea which colour I want to get for the X...
I believe so. They are both really good too!

Had a crazy thought.... I could sell my OnePlus 5 plus the money I got for my S8 which would give me enough to buy the iPhone 8 Plus 64gb in cash pretty much then come Oct/Nov I can upgrade my contract on Vodafone and get the X haha.

Interesting, as I did what I've done about a million times on my 7 Plus. Will try again later

That’s my kind of thinking!

I got the 8+ today to replace my 7+ and I’m enjoying it but somehow I know that I will be ordering the iPhone X come the 27th October.

I can’t help myself! :D

LOL I will try and get this thought out of my head as I really want to stick to buying Vodafone out and going onto IUP with the X but I know what I am like and will end up down the Apple Store at some point before Oct 27th!

Noob question.

Does wireless charging work in a case?

If it does I'll order a wireless charger but if not I'll give it a miss.

Just tried my new 8+ that’s wearing my Apple case (from my 7+) and that works fine

Evict him!!! ;)

Agree - this is a fundamental

Or use all this to buy the X almost outright?

I assume Macrumors is getting hot hard with our frenzy today!

Not possible but you can make payments direct to Barclays to reduce the term of the loan.

Nice work on the 'profit'! I used to always be up when I sold my iPhone before upgrading when on contract especially whe eBay used to be a good, hassle free place to sell. If I were to trade in with Envirofone and settle my Barclays finance for iPhone payments today I'd be about £100 up but am waiting for the X. As long as I can cover the settlement amount and ideally the £69 upfront payment on my next phone I'll be happy. I feel fairly confident that even with a delay in getting the X that this should still be feasible since the settlement and trade in fee will both fall.

I notice that EE website has no dates for the watch delivery now - just a we'll get it to you as soon as we have it type message. Hopefully your wait wont be long or the same saga as the jet black phones last year!

I know I could make more if I eBay it, but this was hassle free. Hand over phone and get cash in hand.
Sight into EE and pick up my new. But the only pain was EE wanting the payment done on card, so a trip to bank after to stick in the cash.

Yeah I’m hoping not another jet black balls up with the watch. But was warned when I order them yesterday that it could be 28 days.

Also my Apple case from the 7+ fits my new 8+

Debating returning mine for the following small issue

When on phone calls I can hear a bit of crackling as if there is interference when on the phone call. People have said they can hear me fine, not sure if this is just the stero speaker and i've got to adjust to it, or if its a problem with the device

Any guidance from anyone would be appreciated

I could but there is something about paying down 1k for a phone and still paying £62 a month for a contract doesn't sit right with me, if I was out of contract I would though.

Yes well can't argue with that and I suppose you could sell the iP8 for a good price if you prefer the X.

I wasn't suggesting you eBay it. Too many stories of sellers being scammed by buyers for that now plus eBay fees tend to wipe out the additional profit over a trade in. I stopped using eBay to sell iPhones about 3 or 4 years ago.

Checked the price at cex and they give £520 for an unlocked iphone 8 plus 64gb which would mean losing £280 immediately for the sake of waiting 35 days, think I will stick with my original plan.
