Thanks. I think I'm doing it wrong as its not finding stock of anything anywhere.

i don't think the reservations system is 'live' yet.. think it will be 6am tomorrow, hopefully that will start showing stock from then.

I'm not understanding what this cable actually is meant for (isn't all we need, just the standard USB to lightning cable)?! Can someone please explain?!
Dino, read the first post.. I added a bunch of info on the charging there..

I wasn't suggesting you eBay it. Too many stories of sellers being scammed by buyers for that now plus eBay fees tend to wipe out the additional profit over a trade in. I stopped using eBay to sell iPhones about 3 or 4 years ago.

Yes, I stopped selling my used iPhones on eBay about 2 years ago. I never got stung fortunately but there is always that risk and, overall, there are too many pitfalls. Just not worth the hassle.

...so essentially, all this does is charge the iPhone 8 Plus slightly faster than the enclosed lightning cable which comes with the phone? £49 is VERY steep for that charger if the only benefit quicker charging.....
yes, apple say you can get 50% in 30 minutes using the 29W USB-C charger + cable... if you charge your phone at night, and seeing you went for a plus size, you should get through the day no problem. Its an expensive outlay if you don't have the charger already. I wouldn't bother if I didn't already have the block which came with my MacBook

Noob question.

Does wireless charging work in a case?

If it does I'll order a wireless charger but if not I'll give it a miss.

yes Apple's standard leather and silicon cases support wireless charging. Not all cases will though, as it depends on thickness and material, so if you're going third party then check with the manufacturer.

Furious with UKMail.. got a ‘sorry we missed you’ note which said I could collect from the depot.. website and phones says I cannot do this.

Also tried to arrange redelivery for later today but get an error and it now says Delivery is Monday 25th!.

Called them again and get an ‘if you have missed your iPhone 8 delivery window, we will attempt redelivery between 7AM-2PM on Saturday 23rd. Which one is it UKMail?! Upset as today was to be my first ever iPhone launch day product. I will wait until tomorrow but it sucks!
bummer, UK Mail do suck.. that's my most people jump for joy when they get DPD. pot luck so its unfortunate for you.

Just picked mine up was in and out the shop signed up to the IUP. They didn’t have any Dark Olive silicone cases left though for the 8+

Loving the Space Grey!

Wasn’t Buchanan Street by any chance? They were out of Dark Olive cases before 1pm today!

Syncreon aka ukmail.

Syncreon are just the logistics company who then will tender deliveries to a variety of firms which include UK Mail and DPD (UPS in previous launches too). None of us will know how they allocate stock to who, so its a little bit of pot luck on who will delivery your phone.

people who get stock which comes direct from China (so people who missed the launch day stock), will likely get Delivery via UPS

Debating returning mine for the following small issue

When on phone calls I can hear a bit of crackling as if there is interference when on the phone call. People have said they can hear me fine, not sure if this is just the stero speaker and i've got to adjust to it, or if its a problem with the device

Any guidance from anyone would be appreciated
get it sorted, book an appointment with apple rather than posting the phone back. If you can live with it until they replace it in store, then I'd do that.

That’s my kind of thinking!

I got the 8+ today to replace my 7+ and I’m enjoying it but somehow I know that I will be ordering the iPhone X come the 27th October.

I can’t help myself! :D

I'm thinking LOADS of people will be doing this. Anticipating plenty of reduced price open box/refurbished iPhone 8/8+ come November/December at all iPhone retailers - including Apple.

Have to say I’m impressed with the improved camera!

Much better in lower light; still some noise but vastly improved over the iPhone 7 Plus.

Might be a gimmick to some and it’s far from perfect but the Portrait Lighting is quite a nice feature too.

I think I am going to be sensible (this is a first for me lol) if I upgrade my contract with Vodafone rather than paying it off I will have enough money left over to buy an Apple Watch S3 (non LTE) and still get an X on contract or to pay for applecare+ outright.

Then in 12 months time sell the X pay off the Vodafone contract and go the IUP route.

Just need to try and convince Vodafone to let me do the pre-order on the 27th to grab the phone in time for the 03/11 which is my early upgrade date.

Its not giving me the option to update to 11 via my phone and am not able to connect to itunes at the moment to do it manually. I tried rebooting phone but still say's iOS 10.3.3 is up to date!

Try turning WiFi off, force quit Settings, and then check for update again. If you see it, WiFi back on to install.
If that doesn’t work, restart the phone and try once more.
If you’re still not getting OTA, plug to iTunes and update through it.
