Thanks. I don't want to join the IUP though. I always buy my phones outright every two years.

Which is good because I don't actually have any photo ID!
 
When selecting a store for the iUP online does it give you a choice of date and time or is it for the same day or the day after? I want to go to a store in London on Tuesday but not sure if I can try and sign up now or if I need to wait till Monday night or even Tuesday morning?

You reserve from 6am for the same day, you can't choose a date in the future and if you don't collect it that day it will be released for anyone to reserve the next day

This is what i'm doing. I'm going to wait until the second generation iPhone X. I'll wait until its more refined. At the moment I'm not wowed by it.

That said, i'm LOVING the 8 Plus. I'm coming from this 6s Plus.

Even touching my 7 (to reset back to factory settings) makes it feel TINY in comparison - I don't know how I managed with the size of the 7 screen (never had a Plus sized iPhone before!!) for all these years!!!!

Am planning to go from a 7+ to a X. The 7+ was my first plus and I love it. Non plus feels too small now. Just sometimes, as you say, I would like it to be a little smaller to fit into pockets and purses.

Maybe pretend and reserve online for IUP then arrive at store and oh gosh you forgot or don't have the right ID so you'll just pay outright.:D

Going to the Apple Store tomorrow to check out the watch colours. Don't like the new gold colour (far too pink o_O) and just as everyone said the 38mm might just be a little small. Would like compare against 42mm which unfortunately I didn't have the opportunity to do before ordering. Will have a wee look at the 8's while am there but sure I won't be tempted. #34 days to pre orders!

Ditto. Same plans tomorrow.. the missus was wondering why I was so keen to go shopping!

Keen to see the silver and space grey glass 8s. Will give me a better clue in the X model I want.

Seriously tempted by the watch too, mostly I think to fill the void of having no new phone yet!

Charged very quickly last night on a cheap double wireless pad I picked from amazon.
Will use the other half of the pad for my watch (when I get it)

Anyone looking for cases don’t forget the the 7/7+ Cases will fit fine.

Also ended up in the Trafford Center Apple store today, seemed just as busy as previous new phones Sat.

I had that last year. Apparently they couldn't get in the yard at work.. when I questioned where they left the card.. tucked in the door. The one they couldn't get to! Told no delivery until Monday, then when spoke to someone I would get delivery on Saturday. I did get it Saturday... by the same driver who attempted the previous day. He didn't know where to put himself when I started questioning his actions bearing in mind we can see the yard, and he allegedly put the card in the door.. I hope you have got your phone now.
 
Having seen the iPhone 8 today and was thinking about a new 8X. I am extremely disappointed. I was thinking that the glass would be similar to the 4, The best iPhone in my opinion. So no way. With the possibility of Apple producing the Finger id next year together with face Id I am not prepared to waste £1000. Staying with my 6 ! seeing the falling share price, Apple I think your bubble may have burst.!

Same here - camera, screen and sound are all better. The sound is more bassy - I always found the 7+ a bit harsh.

I also had problems with GPS in the 7+ - it would bounce around all over the place. Took it in and they replaced it but the replacement was exactly the same. The 8+ GPS is much better.

The series 3 isn’t QI compatible, it only works with the new Apple Airpower pad to be released next year.
 
I’ve got a devil on my shoulder telling I should have tried a Plus phone... would they let me swap the 8 for an 8+ instore if I got it on the upgrade programme?

Going to be interesting how much stock EE gets with the x. If the apple watch stock is anything to go by i'm worried.
