Collected my 8 this afternoon from Cardiff

Very fast and efficient service although they almost forgot to refund me.......!!

Getting £180 for my old 6 via Envirofone so very happy with that.

First impressions of the 8 is that it is FAST! Definitely a nice upgrade from my 6. Very pleased

Can anyone recommend a screen protector for the 8 Plus please? One I can order of Amazon, I want it delivered to the office tomorrow. Do any screen protectors go to the edges of the phone??

Cheaper than Apple’s own one (that’s not available until next year) too.

The ones built into furniture are interesting, but the single and triple ones a bit less so.

The single is £30 and this triple is £60.

I’m probably getting a cheap £15 anker one and then will see what Apple price the airpower pad at.

Knowing Apple it will be ~£100 for the airpower I bet.

Any one having second thoughts about your 8 plus? I really like mine but in the back of my head im thinking i going to want the x when it comes out so was thinking of returning my 8 plus and waiting. Cant make my mind up tho.

So what are people doing with cases? I’m caseless at the moment but I’m terrified of dropping it... I’ve always gone Apple cases before but their so expensive :/ want a really minimal one...

I want clear tempered glass front and rear and a bumper around the edge to give some lip to keep the screen off the surface

Mean to say that I was dead against the X and all in for the 8. Kinda feeling a bit ‘meh’ about it though

As long as it’s a decent brand I think you’re ok. I’ll be going for an Anker one.

I’ve got a devil on my shoulder telling I should have tried a Plus phone... would they let me swap the 8 for an 8+ instore if I got it on the upgrade programme?

I may be wrong but I'm sure I heard that they would have to cancel your iUP for the 8 and start a complete brand new one for your 8 Plus.

Yes I had to do that last year when I swapped my gold out for space grey. It was iPhone Payments as opposed to IUP but don't see why it would be different.

I got this one. It's very good indeed. Good quality and works well. Has a blue light to show it's connected to the power supply. This turns green when the phone is charging:

I really don't know what couloir to get now the bezel around the screen is black. I would have been spray grey/ black but might go for silver now

managed to get 5 minutes in the Apple store today and I actually walked passed the 8's on display thinking they were 7's! there's just not enough in the handsets from the 7 that would have made me change for an 8. I did have a play with the 8 and it felt tiny holding that form factor again, but being able to reach all corners of the phone one handed was great.. really looking forward to the X and the bigger screen in the form factor of the 8.

I'm leaning towards the silver this year tbh, last three phones have been space grey so need a change.

I love the combo of my white 5s with the saddle brown leather case.. going to go back to that this year. I do think given that the fronts are all black and the phone is in a case, it makes to difference what colour i get!

They actually had two options in stock, the stainless steel in 42mm and a space grey in 38".. Chap said they are getting more stock on Tuesday and will in in store for opening of business that day (9am)..

Think I'm going to end up with one even though I was dead against them a few months ago Defo need a 42" and its either space grey or space black for me.. think I need to go in store and have a proper play.

Nope not at all, I’ll get the better version of the X next year.

Picked my iPhone 8 plus up on launch day from my local Apple store. Arrived 10 minutes early expecting a queue, but there was nobody there.

Anyway, had it a few days now and even done a review on it (below, for those interested).

Not sure I'll be keeping it - I might exchange for the X when it's released.

Yes, they look the same. Maybe the only difference is branding.

Had to laugh when I heard that Tim Cooke is "thrilled" at how well the launch of the iPhone 8 has gone, bearing in mind that it is widely believed on pretty compelling evidence that sales are significantly down.

I just don't believe what these guys say anymore.

I want to preorder the iPhone X when it is available for launch day and get it on iUP as I was on it last year, does anyone know if I need to wait for the iPhone to release in order to reserve it or can you reserve for pick up on the pre order day?
