Thinking of returning my 8 now and just sticking with my 6S for a bit longer... maybe wait and see if there's an SE update early next year... :-/
managed to get 5 minutes in the Apple store today and I actually walked passed the 8's on display thinking they were 7's! there's just not enough in the handsets from the 7 that would have made me change for an 8. I did have a play with the 8 and it felt tiny holding that form factor again, but being able to reach all corners of the phone one handed was great.. really looking forward to the X and the bigger screen in the form factor of the 8.
I'm leaning towards the silver this year tbh, last three phones have been space grey so need a change.
I love the combo of my white 5s with the saddle brown leather case.. going to go back to that this year. I do think given that the fronts are all black and the phone is in a case, it makes to difference what colour i get!
[doublepost=1506280966][/doublepost]going OT here but I was in the Bromley store today and asked for stock of the series 3 LTE watch. They actually had two options in stock, the stainless steel in 42mm and a space grey in 38".. Chap said they are getting more stock on Tuesday and will in in store for opening of business that day (9am)..
Think I'm going to end up with one even though I was dead against them a few months agoDefo need a 42" and its either space grey or space black for me.. think I need to go in store and have a proper play.
Oh and move to EE once my sim only deal expire![]()
I also thinking of returning my 8 plus and just using my 6s for another year. Decisions decisionsThinking of returning my 8 now and just sticking with my 6S for a bit longer... maybe wait and see if there's an SE update early next year... :-/
If he is genuinely thrilled it may be because he thinks this means higher than expected iPhone X sales to come despite the breathtaking prices he and his fellow bean counters have imposed on us all. He may be right but there again....Maybe he's thrilled in comparison to how bad he thought it might be?
Could anyone tell me if you can preorder for collection? I want to preorder the iPhone X when it is available for launch day and get it on iUP as I was on it last year, does anyone know if I need to wait for the iPhone to release in order to reserve it or can you reserve for pick up on the pre order day?
Yes all these unheard of makes do all look the same, I would rather a known brand (e.g. Anker) but can’t seem to find any.Yes, they look the same. Maybe the only difference is branding.
You do need a wall plug. I would recommend something like this:

You can reserve for IUP from the preorder day.

Do you only need the extra wall plug for fast charging? Would the Apple IPhone plug work for normal wireless charging speeds?
Thank you!! Do you just pre order as an in store pick up?
There’s an option in the app under the store section for the upgrade program.
It’s tricky to know exactly where to go as there is no active pre-order, as the 8 is now released.
I'm guessing you'll be able to join the iUP and reserve an X then be able to say in store that you want the monthly price without Applecare?
As strange as it sounds, that was my reason for replacing my 7+ with an 8+ on the iUP.Availability for all models looks to be quite good on the online store. Currently only a 5-7 day lead time on all models except for the 256gb gold Plus which is at 7-14 days right now.
Sounds like good news as I'll only be intending to keep my 8 for a year until I can upgrade to the X2 in 2018.
If you wanted to do that, the iPhone Payment plan might be best as you aren’t obliged to take AppleCare+ with it. But yes, you can keep the phone at the end of 20 months (it’s a 20 month term not 24) but your IUP ends then so you’d have to start a new one when you want the new phone.I have a question about the iUP.
So if you decide to replace your phone after 12 months, you have to trade the phone back in.
But if you don’t upgrade for 2 years, and pay all the monthly payments, you keep the phone? And can then get another phone if you continue the program?
Maybe I’m missing something, but wouldn’t it be better to upgrade every 2 years if this is the case?
You'll take quite a hit yo the wallet if you sell the 8 in a month's time.Picked my iPhone 8 plus up on launch day from my local Apple store. Arrived 10 minutes early expecting a queue, but there was nobody there.
Anyway, had it a few days now and even done a review on it (below, for those interested).
Not sure I'll be keeping it - I might exchange for the X when it's released.
Cheers,
Jonny
I think that the whole point of the iUP is to provide an affordable way to upgrade your iPhone every year.iMaybe I’m missing something, but wouldn’t it be better to upgrade every 2 years if this is the case?
There's no continuation - after 20 months of payment the programme ends completely. You would need to start with an all-new iUP plan.I have a question about the iUP.

What's the difference between the upgrade programme and the payment plan then? Is it just that the payment plan doesn't include Apple care?
Is it possible to buy out of the upgrade programme at any time? I'm interested in a 8 plus using it but I'm coming back from android so if it doesn't work out I'd like to know I'm not signing myself into a lifetime of iPhones!

I’ve gone with a Renvoo silver bumper ‘case’ for my 8+.
Could well be my fave phone/case combo.
So what are people doing with cases? I’m caseless at the moment but I’m terrified of dropping it... I’ve always gone Apple cases before but their so expensive :/ want a really minimal one...
