On android it tells you when your phone is fast charging, does it do the same with the iPhone 8?

If anyone is interested in the Anker Power Touch 5, a 5w wireless charger (same speed of charging as a standard iPhone plug) it's available from Amazon (link below) for £11.04 rather than the usual £16.99 using the discount code KON4XZKW, and that includes Amazon Prime next day delivery where applicable.

That's what I'd call a bargain! Very cheap wireless charging from a known and trusted brand.

If you can wait a bit there's a new one coming on October 1st.

Do you know how long this promo code is valid for?

Started September 25th 00:00 GMT 2017, ends September 26th 23:59 GMT 2017.

Discount quantity is limited according to the email I got from Anker. First come, first served apparently.

Thanks. Ordered one today, if it's any good I'll grab a couple more.

Spoke to o2. Asked them for my PAC and they asked why. Told them Sky had a better offer and there's was ridiculously priced (iphone 8+ 256gb). They eventually offered the phone on a refresh deal (what I wanted so I have option to upgrade next year). Works out to £52 per month (but grabbed insurance). Will probably lower my monthly cost by chucking a couple of hundred quid at the phone over Xmas. Happy with this. Been a customer for a long old time so it was nice they gave the effort to keep me. Phone arriving tomorrow.

Existing phone (gonna recycle for £220) is an iphone 6s+. Which has been the best iphone I've ever owned.

Just ordered this, along with the fast charging plug for £26.99. Now fingers crossed I can actually get an X!
If you have an Anker charging hub with fast charge port - assume that will work fine and don't need the fast charge plug as well?

Sorry for a bit of a thread hijacking but wanted some opinions.

Noticed yesterday on my 8 that there is a patch showing (particularly when wiped with a damp cloth) which I think could be a problem with the oleophobic coating (?missing in this spot) as per this thread: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/discolouration-patch-on-rear-glass-iphone-8.2071914/

Apple advised to return under 14 day policy, however they have no stock of this phone (looking at 1-2 weeks) and all nearby apple stores are up of stock (plus the nearest is over an hour away).

So should I just live with it or do what I’m planning and return it next week (at the end of 14 day window) for an exchange and hope they will have sufficient stock to send a replacement straight out?

I’ve put the phone back in a case for now but will probably change my mind again in a few/weeks month (I’m forever going between case and caseless!).

Most definitely get it replaced. You paid a lot of money for that device. They’ll surely have replacement handsets soon. I think you’ll regret not having it replaced for the sake of a couple of weeks.

Dont suppose your local to Birmingham id give you £250 for it?

Just returned my iPhone 8 at a drop off location and they said that they don’t give you a receipt. Is that right?

Certainly wouldn’t live with it!! It’s one of those things, once you know it’s there your eyes get sucked towards that specific bit of screen!!
We’re ages from a store too and it’s a pain on things like this .. I had one faulty one I had to turn and apple arranged that I could have a longer return window so that the new one would be available. I think I agreed to order a new one though as a new order and then had longer allowed to return the original. That would only work if you have the funds for it!
I’d definitely phone them though and ask for a longer return window as faulty. They did it because I just could t g t to a store.
Hope you get it sorted without too much hassle.

I had it when my local Spar was the drop off point .. it was a bit disconcerting but all worked out ok!

That does not sound right, what kind of drop off location was this? I take stuff to my corner shop to return to Amazon and they always give me a receipt.

Right guys, took my first phonecall today on my 8+ and there is a slight crackling on my speaker. It’s like a ticking but constant. Doesn’t happen on loudspeaker.

I’m going to return it but can’t be without a phone, would a return/exchange via EE be the best option or would going direct to Apple be the best option?

I’m annoyed as I’ve paid out for a screen protector for it as well.
