Have you seen the post on the MR home page? A lot of people having this problem, may be a software thing. (Mine also does it)

We’re ages from a store too and it’s a pain on things like this .. I had one faulty one I had to turn and apple arranged that I could have a longer return window so that the new one would be available. I think I agreed to order a new one though as a new order and then had longer allowed to return the original. That would only work if you have the funds for it!
I’d definitely phone them though and ask for a longer return window as faulty. They did it because I just could t g t to a store.
Hope you get it sorted without too much hassle.

I had it when my local Spar was the drop off point .. it was a bit disconcerting but all worked out ok!

Definitely not! For the money that you have paid you should have a top class product without any flaws, even if it can't be replaced immediately.

Ah cheers for that just found it. Don’t know what to do. I have 14 days for a direct swap before I then go to handset only swap up to 28 days then after that it’s down to warranty which is a refurb. I’d be p***** if I had a refurb after a month

Many thanks for the replies. Will see about getting the return window extended and possibly order new at the same time then just await refund but will definitely get it returned.

I'd always try a return to Apple first.

So I’ve gone from getting the X to thinking it over and deciding that a £30 increase in my payments just isn’t on my radar at this moment in time so I’ve made my peace and decided to go for the Space Grey iPhone 8 256gb.

Picking it up tomorrow. Can’t wait!

Am sure you couldn't pre order watches to apple stores so I assume he was lucky and it was in stock when he visited or he reserved today. There is the odd stainless steel model around particularly with the stainless steel Milanese loop strap - presumably because it's a higher price model. Am hoping there will be some more stock hitting stores tomorrow / this week so I don't have to wait 3-4 weeks for mine. There was a 38mm in Edinburgh on Sunday but I've decided the 38mm yptoo small (like everyone told me!)

Worth the wait! I have a S2 SS-Black and it’s beautiful. Not upgrading tho since this year is pretty eh on updates but I’m glad more people are getting the watch! Prepare for the crazy amount of bands you’ll be collecting :p

Fingers crossed! Bromley had a couple of cellular models yesterday, one was the stainless steel. The chap said they’d have some tomorrow morning. I’m going to be checking out the online stock in the morning.

What model and colour are you hoping for?

There is a thread for European Watch preorders and a lot that were given mid October date have been dispatched so look like they may deliver earlier than expected.

I didn't reserve today, as above, I went in for different reasons and had intended to get the 42mm SS watch, but after 40 mins, they managed to sell it to a guy who came after me because they asked me to wait there for someone to process the refund first.

They may or may not have refurb models but if you try to exchange in store you're likely to get a brown box unit. Those are just the phones on their own in plain boxes for warranty replacements. It means you won't get one in retail packaging off the shelf and your new phones serial number won't match that on the original retail phone box.
