One of the benefits to EE would be to upgrade after 12 months on an annual upgrade. More speed is always good but the sell of upgrading after 12 months and getting the series 3 watch is a sell to go with them but If getting the x on the apple upgrade program is more likely i will just do that and stick with three.

Why did you get turned down?

No idea my credit rating on Experian is as high as it goes, on Equifax it's pretty much right at the top which is what Barclays use, I guess they don't like me lol

Not sure if you are aware but Vodafone now do Flexi-updates so you can upgrade anytime after 6 months and it's similar to o2 refresh where you just pay off the handset.

Mine is worked out to be S8 at £501.50 / 24 = £20.89 * 18 (upgrade after 6 months) = £376 but you can sell the handset to anyone or any company to pay for it so it's a bit more flexible and of course the longer you wait the cheaper it becomes.

Mobile tariffs have shot up in price lately over here, but there are some deals floating around.

I used to pay £15/month on Three for unlimited data, now I pay £23 a month with Vodafone for 32GB data, but with Spotify included.

Thats a good price I was paying £22.20 for 20gb with Spotify with £120 cash back so it worked out a tenner a month for 12 months which was really nice, then I was an idiot and upgraded to a contract :(

On my way up to London and have a iPhone 8 plus reserved to collect. But I am so not sure whether to get it! .

...will iOS frustrate me or please me after years on android?!

...Seems like a big thing to switch back to iOS!

You can only tell by giving it a go. Don't forget, you have 14 days to return an iPhone for a full refund.

Wasn’t aware Vodafone did that. Seems reasonable.

Think they have posted some prices for the x the other week

What does worry me with this launch is the apple upgrade program. I have a bad feeling that you order on launch day then they say there are not available stock to pick up. I could certainly see this happening.

Didn't they do this for the jet black iPhone 7 as well last year where it was not available for pickup?

I’m sure it was mentioned much earlier on in the thread about PayPal Credit and the fact they don’t increase credit limits?

Have had a letter from this morning; mine’s going up from £350.00 to £600 next month.

Does state they reserve the right to restrict or withdraw the offer at any time.

Yep they sure did

They weren’t on display either

I think they will do the same with the iPhone 10 as well, I think I can see myself being an idiot and purchasing the iPhone 10 through Paypal on Apple and ordering it on Vodafone on the 04/11 (they won't let me do anything prior to that date) just so I can snag one.

Then if I get it on Paypal I will buy out Vodafone and go sim only and try IUP next year again.

My Paypal credit is £4000 and I get 4 months interest free as well which is a bonus, is this what you have?

Yeah i will have to order on apple upgrade program and EE and see what happens. If there is no stock apple are going to get destroyed by the media for this. Due to paying off a few other things i won’t be paying outright for the x so upgrade program and through EE is the only option this year.

If I can scrape together a bit more money buying out Vodafone would be better for me in the long term, short term it will cost me more.

Totally agree Apple really do need to make sure they meet this pent up demand.

Going to be really frustrating if we, who have waited patiently to pre-order later than expected (many of us having sold our old phones in preparation), fail to get an X on the 3rd of November.

It all seems a real mess this year. I’m losing the will to care.

I think apple just need to be honest and say before the pre orders go up the chances of getting an iphone x to pick up on launch day. Otherwise people will depend on that service and not get the new phone until at least next year.

I just hope the carriers don’t lie to us or at least apple give them enough info on stock. As if i order with EE i will order the 256GB iphone x and order the Apple Watch at the same time.

If i get the Apple Watch it’s wether i go with the regular stainless steel with the silver iPhone as that will go better with the watch I reckon.

I never trust sales they will do whatever they can to get that sale even if it means telling you a phone is in stock when it's not, at least if you do it in store you know you can get it there and then if you are willing to wait.

Delivered (8 Plus) early morning. Already have the phone set up. Got a case arriving tomorrow. Just need to pick up a wireless charger. Need to play around with the phone tbh to get a feel for it but already feels more snappy than the 6s+ (which was still quite beastly imo). I wanted a refresh, a bridge towards 12 months from now when I might (might) make the jump to the next revision of the X (if they do a Plus size version).

My Powerbeats 3 are interest free as part of a promotion Apple were running back at the time but my Series 1 Watch I ordered last week is 14.9% APR.

Not sure which will be quicker guessing online will be quicker to process

Online will be quicker, I reckon, going PayPal on pre-order day and Vodafone on 04/11 so covering both bases so hopefully that will work for me, so you should be ok as well going EE and IUP and see which one works for you.

As my daughter will be off that week I will get into work early before 7.30am so I can get prepped otherwise my wife and daughter won't leave me alone and I will miss the chance to pre-order one at 8.00am on the dot.

Well i’m That sad that i have booked Friday,Saturday,Sunday off work to make sure this pre order goes as smooth as possible. The work wifi is shocking where you get 1MB so i know there’s no chance i could order from work so least at home i have 78mb so connecting quickly shouldn’t be an issue. I know the apple page is likely to crash or be slow but will see.

It’s why i will have the apple app and the EE web page in spiltscreen mode and try and do them at the same time although i think it might be wise to do the apple app process first.

I can't get the day off and I start work at 8:15am and would normally be on my way to work at that time. So I'm going to have to get to work early and get prepared to go online on the Apple Store app and try and bag myself one.

What do you need the Saturday and Sunday off for if pre-order is Friday?

love how many have made sacrifices in preparation for pre-order day.. only 31 more days to get through.. how much small talk are we going to be able to cover on here until it all kicks off!

I had to re-arrange some pre-booked trains which were originally departing at 10am.. no way i'd have given my self enough enough of a buffer to get my pre-order in and leg it to St. Pancras. cost me £40 to cancel and rebook on another train!

Picked up my 256GB Space Grey 8 earlier - upgrade was even simpler than last year.

I was playing with both phones in the store and I've come to the conclusion that I am a regular iPhone guy and it's ok to prefer the 4.7" screen. It really is the sweet spot in terms of one handed usage and usability. Really happy with my choice.

Now if they could bring the Plus camera to the regular iPhone then we'd be in business!

I'm pretty confident that with the staggered launch this year and the fact that supply is unlikely to meet demand until possibly the middle of next year, this thread will exceed the mega thread for the iPhone 4 a few years ago. :)
