I say that having had a new iPhone every year since the very first one in November 2007. I've had every model except the 5c and the SE.
That article is not very encouraging in my view.

There are clear production issues to do with 3D sensors and 10m units for a world wide launch in November doesn't sound a lot. Nor for that matter does 40 million by Christmas.
Ah, but if you are getting the X, the 8 does not count.I've had every model except the 3G and the 6 and now the 8!
I've had 3G, 3GS, 4, 4S, 5, 6P, 7P from memory with a huge amount of android phones in-between, but this year onwards I am going to force myself to stick to iOS only.

It's a bit better than 10,000 being produced per day but either way you look at it if you don't get it immediately be prepared to wait or look for another phone.

Turns out its not an exclusive though, they're the only carrier who can support it as things stand. Which still seems strange to me - I'd have thought it would be worthwhile for others to invest in.
Did any more analysts back up the single story from last week saying the X hadn't even started production yet?
... I know but I laughed as I was nearly forgetting that it (the 8) will be another I've not had. Maybe that's why some people are getting (it) until the X so they can say they had every model.
If anyone is interested in the Anker Power Touch 5, a 5w wireless charger (same speed of charging as a standard iPhone plug) it's available from Amazon (link below) for £11.04 rather than the usual £16.99 using the discount code KON4XZKW, and that includes Amazon Prime next day delivery where applicable.

That's what I'd call a bargain! Very cheap wireless charging from a known and trusted brand.
I have been using a Galaxy S8+ for the last week and I have to say that it is a seriously impressive piece of kit.
Yes it's a beautiful phone but I know what you mean about iPhones (I've had so many).I’ve been using the S8 since launch day back in April (moved from iPhone 7+), all started well, but the battery life is nothing short of the worst I’ve ever had, which is a far cry from when I first got it when it was the best I’d ever had. People did say that over time the battery drain gets worse.
One thing I will say that when I pick up the S8 after using the iPhone 8+ it still feels amazing in the hand and makes the iPhone look like a very old phone....but I still love my iPhone
My cousin is currently working in the US. She is getting her phone there. They've told her the warranty is world wide.
She's offered to pick me one up too. Not sure what to do. Warranty wise being in the UK I know I get two years. But it works out at £560 for the 64gb 8.
Mine is a bedside charger, but it worked fine last night (only arrived yesterday). How did you guess what I was up to?

Well, my discounted Anker Power Touch 5 was delivered today but it seems to be faulty. The blue light comes on but I can't get it to charge any of 3 phones that I have tried (either with or without cases). It's a bit disappointing.
Anyone else got theirs? If so, any problems?
First foray into the world of Apple Watch. Ordered this morning and finally collected! Should keep me busy until the X comes along!

EE get speeds up to 60MB Vodafone certainly don’t get near these speeds. I left Vodafone 2-3 years ago due to their shocking signal in most places.
You don’t get 2 years in the UK, but that is a common misconception.
I would get one in the US for sure, in fact I was thinking of picking up an X, as I’m there running the New York marathon, which is on release day weekend.

I know you done officially. But Apple have always sorted my phone for me in the second year if it's developed a problem.

Surprised to hear about the battery degradation. At the moment it is excellent, far better than my 7+ was. I haven't used the 8+ enough to form a solid opinion about the battery in that.
I know, I was just trying to make the point that it’s not a “2 years warranty in the UK” thing, it’s something Apple do (assuming as you say, that they were the original retailer). If you buy directly from Apple you do get 2 years cover now, the second year is termed “consumer law warranty”. I’ve had 3 phones and an iPad replaced in the second year now, this only applies if Apple were the direct retailer.
Here’s how it’s described on the most recent one I did.
