The two words I don’t want to see today are “Shipping November”. I just hope we can at least preorder Friday morning and then wait it out until delivery

I believe there's two ways of doing it. The Apple + PayPal credit online offer of paying monthly is not the same as the monthly installments from the iUP.

...so I guess, the difference between the Apple Upgrade Offer and PayPal Credit is that if you purchase via Paypal Credit, the interest charged is around 14%. This pic is from my iPhone 7 offer:

Apple's Upgrade Offer, is zero% interest which begs the question - WHY DIDN'T I SIGN UP TO THE UPGRADE OFFER LAST YEAR??!?!?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
[doublepost=1505202767][/doublepost]
someone posted on here that the US apple site has updated to show some kind of mail in for iUP sadly the UK site doesn't seem to be showing the same thing =(

...yea I saw that this morning - that's for the U.S. but as you say, can't see the same offer on the U.K version.
[doublepost=1505202952][/doublepost]...so with this 'Reserve for in-store pick-up' thing, will it be possible to reserve an iPhone 8, on release day (assuming its a Friday) and then going to your local store to pick up, on the Sunday (my local store is Bromley)?

Morning every one. With the expected announcement of the iPhone X this evening and that massive rumoured price of the new phone I was wondering how it would be bought here in the UK.

Contracts are surely going to be mega expensive and it if reach of many due to the high cost of the handset, so how will you go about buying yours.

It seems in the US leasing the phone is way to go now and contracts seem a thing if the past yet here we still seem to be buying phones the old fashioned way which at some point with increasing prices just isn't feasible.

Personally I'm going to buy outright when pre-orders go live, hopefully this Friday at 8am here in the UK. I think a lot of people will either get the 8 or 8 Plus on contract, but those that do opt for the iPhone X will know that it costs more and will pay more on contract.

Once the launch day arrives and the ability to check stock at local stores is available, then yes you can reserve and pay in store.

I just don’t know what option for reserving and paying in store there will be for pre orders.

Last year I was able to reserve for pick up at store at pre-order time. I have the email on 9th Sept confirming reservation for Fri 16th. This was for Apple Upgrade Programme but I think you could choose to pay in store in other ways when reserving.

If stocks are limited for iPhone X, then I presume each store will have very limited allocations.

I think most folk will buy on contract. Worth mentioning that in Sept 2014 an iPhone 6 at approx £45 PM could be snagged for £37.50 PM 2 months later on EE.
So prices on contract will drop, but maybe for iPhone 8 only, iPhone X is a bit of an unknown quantity.
I pay £12.00 sim only so tend to buy outright.
At these prices - £1000 - I'm holding back and waiting till dust settles around December.

I realise this may have been asked but there’s a lot of pages on this thread already if I wanted to get the X on the upgrade programme will there be any way of preordering or reserving online or do I need to wait till a store has physical stock then go in in person?

You'll check the reserve page, then reserve one, then go into the store and tell them you're wanting to go on the program and then go through the procedures.

Is there a way to watch it later as I'm going to match to watch Sunderlands latest defeat :(

Check out the first post. I’ve put a link to the spoiler free article in Macrumors. This article gets updated with the direct link to the video so you don’t even have to see the updated Apple site for spoilers!

I can upgrade my Vodafone contract early in November so going to see how much more I would need to pay for the privilege of having the iPhone X.

Already paying £62 a month for a Galaxy S8 with 32gb of data so expecting this to go up to at least £68 or possibly higher.

Do you think it will be possible to reserve one on the Friday (assuming, Friday is indeed the release day) and then go and collect on the Sunday or will we have to collect the same day (i.e. Friday)?

Yikes!, is that 12 or 18 months at £62?

It’s likely that Friday will be pre orders only and the launch would be the following Friday. BUT given all the noise about production levels and availability there could be close to zero day one stock or Apple may just say the X launch will happen from a later date.

I’d prefer that option rather than told they launch 22nd and the delivery dates start at 3-4 weeks and slip from there
