If I could get anywhere near that as a new customer I would go back to EE, how much was you paying before if I can ask?

I originally got my sim only last year on Black Friday. It was a £39.99 tariff with £20 off, unlimited mins/text & 20gb of data.

Then a few months back I upped it to a 4GEE Max plan for £24 with an extra 10gb of data.

I was then told I could upgrade the other week and I just got a bit more money off (now £17) and a few more gb of data (now 33gb).

Good call on the Black Friday deals. I’m tied in with three on my all you can eat plan until feb but keen to move to EE so I can use my watch too.

£19 for unlimited data currently but reviewing my actual usage I’m not using more than 6GB a month for the past year or so. Happy to drop down to a smaller data plan and sacrifice my all you can eat plan. The service along my commute, where I use most my data has been p*ss poor so might need to test out EE with payg to see if it’s better

What’s the Max plan add?

Max plan adds their highest speed 4g, roaming in USA and some other places plus more. http://newsroom.ee.co.uk/ee-launche...s-with-roam-like-home-and-inclusive-bt-sport/

So pre-order day just got a little trickier for myself. I've got to be somewhere for 9:30-9:45 that's a good 75 minute drive.
I should be able to get my order in and then set off but if the site is slow or errors start happening I'm going to miss out.

Just order it and speed. Lol.

Or go half way and stop somewhere to get some breakfast and just continue the other half if he journey after the pre order.

get to where you are going before 8am and wait it out.

I upgraded my sim only plan last week and got 4GEE Max, unlimited minutes/texts, 33gb of data for £17.99!

Think Three were doing the same so they were matching it.
Likewise, I'm on a 30GB EE MAX plan for £17.99.

I jumped on to EE with their £20 Black Friday deal. Now I'm paying £2 less a month for 10GB more data, faster 4G, and US roaming.

IMO EE has the best network. The ideal situation is to jump on them when they're doing a major public deal, and then after the first year you can hold out until a competitor puts on a really good deal and you can get a sweet retention deal.

A week in to using EE and its clear its 4G coverage and speed is better than O2 in the areas I've been using it. In particular it has filled a few holes where O2 would drop down to 3G or Edge, so have been very pleased so far.

Just tried to get on the 33GB for £17.99 with EE, it's a no go. Tried all the tricks I've picked up over the years. However they have given me an extra 2GB for the same price. 25GB for £26 a month.

Yeah thats the best i can see but i’m Not a current customer so thats why.

I guess price wise i wanted to see what the difference would be to join EE on contract or sim only. All depends on what the contracts will be for the 256GB model. If it’s less than £89 a month then it could be cheaper than doing the EE sim only and the Apple upgrade program

I'm a long time customer and only "upgraded" last month. Looks like I missed out on this one. They said I could only pay more or move across, not get more for less..

If you are comparing between EE device contract vs Apple + sim only, then you need to compare Apple payments plan rather than Upgrade Prog (doesn't include AppleCare) so like for like. That is £54pm for 256GB and therefore with £26 sim would mean £80pm.

Think I’m going to hold out for the Black Friday deal at the end of nov. My three deal runs until February so I can hold out and anyway probably won’t even have the X by then!

Might get a cheap payg to try out the EE speeds where three is causing me an issue

After lots of turmoil trying to decide between upgrading my 6+ to a 7+ or X I broke down and just ordered my IPhone 8+ 256GB.

The X just didn't appeal to me the more and more I looked into it and I had already lost interest with it after I heard that it had dropped TouchID. With all the same internals as the X (as well as TouchID!) the 8+ seemed like a good compromise and i have signed up to Sky Mobile's "switch12" scheme so if the "XS" is a decent improvement over the rather rushed and flawed X (JMHO) then I'll certainly jump on the bandwagon 12 months from now.

Only thing is I'll have to wait 10 business days for it, has anyone else encountered such large waiting periods for the 8+? I wasn't expecting it to be honest and is there any chance I'll be getting it any sooner than that?

Might be 'just your honest opinion' but in fairness how do you know it's 'rushed and flawed'?? The X is not even out yet so you like the rest of us haven't actually had one to try (I assume)!

I really don't get all these comments that people will wait til next year as no doubt next year whatever is released will also have another lot of people stating that there is some massive flaw or deal breaker that means they'll wait til the following year.

However am sure you'll enjoy your 8+ as it's a pretty decent step up from the 6+! Not noticed anyone posting times on Sky's delivery timescales.

I had been following the development of the X for years and had forgone upgrading to the 7 in anticipation of the X with it's promised specs. The reality of what was announced is somewhat disappointing- dropping TouchID, negligible useable screen increase and a weird aspect ratio.

For sure if the XS has touchID built into the screen (as Apple have been working on for years but couldn't get working for X) and/or doesn't feature that annoying "ridge" for the FaceID sensors then I'll be upgrading in 12 months time.

I MAY have been tempted to go in for the X had the price been more resonable but I'd have wanted the 256GB version and Sky offered a pretty decent deal for the 256GB 8+.

Yes, very much looking foreword to the 8+, the 6+ has served me well but has been showing it's age for a long time now and is really on its last legs. Just a shame I have to wait another few weeks.

Payment is a no go as i want to have the annual upgrade option each year.

To be fair, you’d be following rumours of its development for years, and its rumoured specs..

It's pointless........ annual upgrade just means you can hand back after year and they will clear the remaining finance....... which will be less than you could see it for yourself either on Facebook, ebay or the buyback sites. After 12 months you will get at least 50% of the original cost on resale.
