Not sure with Apple. You could get PayPal Credit. Think that is 4 months interest free.
Now you’re asking this was two years ago. I remember trying to order just when you first could but the app kept going down so my order didn’t go through until about 12 minutes late I think. Shipping was I think 3-4 weeks.
This is what I’m dreading, if the app/site works for some but not for others and the date slips before I can even get in!
I just noticed that the apple store app on my phone has an apple pay option at checkout, but on my ipad it uses my stored debit card and needs me to type in my 3 digit security code. Will the iphone version be a tiny bit quicker as an option? Both are signed into my account and have the X saved as favourite and my preferred store for pickup.
I haven't used apple pay for a large purchase using the apple store app before - but I use it daily for purchases. No issues with additional validation?

Got my iPad Pro 10.5” using Apple Pay and it was nice and speedy .. I have it enabled on phone and iPad

hmm. On my ipad pro 10.5 I have touch ID but it still asks for my 3 digit security code. Can't see where I can set up apple pay as an option. Tried when I preordered an 8 (which I then cancelled)
My advice after ordering every iPhone since the 3G on launch day....
There’s no guarantee of anything, when their servers are under so much load the website will be crashing and timing out frequently.
The app is the easiest way of ordering but you will most likely find some quirks with it due to the hammering it will be getting.
In all honesty I’ve always managed to get one for launch day. However nothing is a given and we have no idea of stock levels, will the high price help out by putting some people off? Etc etc.
It’s mostly down to luck I’m afraid.
I tend to have the website and the app on the go and generally find nothing comes up until 8.04 ish. Last year it was nearly 8.10 by the time it came to life!!

Sorry forgot to clarify, my account is logged in and I can see my favourites but whenever I want to place an order I have to log in again.
If I recall rightly (and it was certainly the case last month with the watch orders) you cant reserve for IUP via the app. You have to do that via the website. I got a gold 7+ for launch last year but it was the jet black I wanted and I ended up exchanging for the matt black.
Congrats! Have you picked your baby specification yet? Do you think it will arrive on the expected launch day? Have you worked out how to pay for it? Finally something more expensive than an Apple product!!

Was it 8.10ish for everyone or just some? because it was the same for me and I assumed I was just unlucky! By the time I got in the 7+ 128 matte black was on 2-3 weeks so I thought some people must have got in?

If you remember the site wasn’t available until at least 08.04am from memory. It wasn’t up dead on 8am.
My 7+ jb order confirmation was at 8.06 and dates had slipped to 2-3 weeks by then
I just pretended to buy a phone and on the 'bag' checkout screen I have two options. The one on the left says 'buy with other payment options' and on the right it says 'Buy with
Pay'.Not sure to make that happen if it doesn’t though sorry!
What exactly is the right way to 'refresh' the Apple Store app at 8am? Do you just wait in your account page and keep tapping on iPhone X (in your favourites) until 'Add to Bag' button is available?
That wont work as the whole Store is usually taken down from the night before. I think best way is to keep force quitting and reloading app.
Nope unless you use a credit card or Paypal with 0% interest. For the iUP and the other payment plan you have to go in store with your documents and pass the credit check there.
You will be able to reserve the phone for store pick up though 🙂
Yes! i mistakenly selected the option to pay in full when I ordered my 8. When i collected it from store I switched to the 20 months payment plan (not incl AppleCare) 🙂 You can only apply for the iUP or payment plan IN STORE
Just make sure they do refund you......I didn't notice until a couple of days later but Apple sorted it out for me and I had the money back within a couple of days
