defo the 256 in that case, I still think it will be 128, 256 & 512... its a cheap enough change for apple to help them somewhat justify the higher starting price
[doublepost=1505216634][/doublepost]500 posts already!

I reckon they’re gonna do 64GB for $999.

Keeps the price just under the psychological 1000 mark, but makes the storage lower than what some people would want for that price.

We shall see. If it’s 128GB for $999 / £949 I’ll be doing cartwheels.

I am going to be optimistic. My pricing predictions for the iPhone X or whatever its called:

£949 for base model (64GB?)
£1099 for 256GB

Obviously Apple Care on top. My wallet is already crying in pain after my recent purchase of an iPad Pro & new car.

I don’t know if they’ll do a One More Thing.

We might get HomePod release date/pre-order open but I don’t see any other surprises and using “One More Thing” for anything we know about (like the iPhone X) would ruin it.

I think we will get a One More Thing, as it's the 10th anniversary of the iPhone and in the Steve Jobs Theatre.

gutted I won't be watching live.. this thread will have doubled in size by the time I can watch the replay and look back here!

Well if there is, I’d like One More Thing to be a system-wide dark mode which turns off the black pixels on OLED displays conserving power, and improves use for the eyes at night on non-OLED displays.

Launching with iOS 11.1 and an update to macOS High Sierra later in the year, with an API for devs, in beta for developers from today.

Anything else ruins the genuine surprises ‘One More Thing’ was famed for under SJ.

Similar but with an Xbox One X Scorpio Edition pre-order too

...so with the iPhone Upgrade Program, does all the finance on the phone have to be paid off before you upgrade to the next version?!

So as an example, if I did the upgrade program for the 8, and was paying around £30 a month for the phone, this would not be paid off in full before iPhone 9 comes out next year, so how would I be eligible to upgrade to it?!

I'm pretty sure you have to keep it for (12 months?) but at upgrade time you just hand the device back and start the 2 years again on the new phone

You have to have paid 11 or more payments, and handing back your handset at upgrade time wipes out the remaining 9 repayments.

They wipe off the remaining debt when you upgrade as long as you upgrade every year your fine or you can choose to keep on paying it if you decide to keep it.

Given current resale values, what you have paid now over last 12 months isn't much different from the depreciation since purchase. So unless phone is in poor condition you can start a new agreement with nothing to pay. That's how I see it - almost like a car PCP agreement/hire purchase.

Do you have to close/open the store app when it's online (during pre-order Friday) or will it refresh automatically?

I think this keynote will be a test of how much someone is actually willing to part with for a phone, I can already see the iPhone X going on eBay for £1300 or more!

I wonder if anyone would be willing to pay £50-60+ a month for the IUP program plus the price of a sim only contract as well

Well if anyone like myself who wants the X and is on the program will have to.

My sim is £17 for 12gb data so low enough that I'll be ok spending £50 on the X every month.

Somehow I doubt this... ;)

I don't know about that, I hear a lot of people saying this and I'm kinda thinking this as well.

We all know we're getting ****ed paying over a 1000 dollars for an iPhone and are already not feeling very well about it. Getting ****ed with the storage as well might just be the tipping point for a lot of people.

I mean if all is true then a 256GB iPhone X will almost be twice as much as a Galaxy S8 is costing now (at least in Europe). Think about that for a minute.

64GB will be $999/£949
256GB will be $1,099/£1,049
512GB will be $1,299/£1,229

As I mentioned in an earlier thread - the price increments between capacities changed with the 10.5 iPad Pro, so the 256 - 512 jump is now more.

...ok, cheers for clarifying.

So what about this scenario then: If opt to start the iPhone 8 with the Upgrade Program, would I be allowed to hand in my current, mint condition, iPhone 7 (which is currently being financed via Apple's PayPal Credit option), as a trade in, towards the cost of the 8?

Will have £440 remaining to pay on my 7 plus 256. I've locked in £520 with envirofone. If you hand your phone back to Apple when you upgrade (as expected) it's all done there-and-then. If I sell my phone to enviro, I then have to contact Barclays finance, pay them, get them to lear the finance agreement and then do the upgrade (which isn't an upgrade, so to speak). I'll just give it back to Apple, less hassle and things to go wrong.

Doubt it ... not even sure that's legit .... would expect handing in the 7 would clear the PayPal credit option?
