That's what I'm hoping.at least you should be able to pre-order and get your choice on release day!
I wonder if I'm going to be the only UK based MacRumors member who will be ordering the iPhone 8?![]()
OH. MY. GOD.Apple Store is down! It’s happening!!!
OH. MY. GOD.
only 6 hours to kill.. i really hate the first part of the keynote when they tell us how great the app store is and and how they've contributed to education/health care or what ever it will be this year... no doubt there'll be some coverage of the recent natural disasters in the states too... there'll be plenty of people patiently tapping their fingers waiting for the good stuff

Interestingly, the iPhone Upgrade programme's "How it Works" page is now offline like the rest of the Apple Store. While this could just be a quirk of the site, other pages such as trade-in to buy iPhone 7 are still working.
It would be nice if they upgraded the UK IUP to allow phones to be delivered from central stock, rather than from limited store allocation, with the existing contract amended over the phone or online - or just by going into Apple Store within (say) 2 weeks.
This is my fear too, for precisely the same reason.Unfortunately I do expect the entry iPhone X to be £999. When I bought my MBP it was £1749 and $1799 in the US.
£1749 in dollars is $2322 D:
I can see Tim skipping the Updates this time around. It'll be the same as last year.
- Updates
- Apple watch
- Apple TV
- iPhone
It’s likely that Friday will be pre orders only and the launch would be the following Friday. BUT given all the noise about production levels and availability there could be close to zero day one stock or Apple may just say the X launch will happen from a later date.
I’d prefer that option rather than told they launch 22nd and the delivery dates start at 3-4 weeks and slip from there
I suspect now they will price 64gb at £949 and for me that is way too much to pay for little storage, if it's a base of 128gb I could of been tempted.

- Hello, really busy today so let’s dispense with the updates but everything is great
- Apple TV 4K
- Apple Watch Series 3
- iPhone - 10 years ago since we launched, today we’re introducing 3 new iPhones:
-- iPhone 8 and 8 Plus
-- iPhone X
That’s how I see it going (maybe TV and Watch will swap in the running order). Not sure where they will slot in the OS updates.
no... 'one more thing....'?
"one more thing... they guy who leaked the iOS 11 GM has been moved to work at foxconn to speed up output'
I’ll take that. With iCloud, I’m okay with it. My Photos library needs 256GB minimum to fit on the device in its entirety, so having 64 or 128 doesn’t make a difference for me as it Optimises Storage.
On the 128GB iPhone 6 I’m using in the interim I’ve used 44GB of 128GB. I’ll just about be able to live with 64GB if it’s £949/949. I might go to 256GB if it’s no more than £1049. If it’s £1099 I’m going down a size I think.
All my stuff fits onto my 512GB iPad Pro, so obviously the dream would be a 512GB iPhone X but at £1200-1300 it’s absolutely untenable.

I think this keynote will be a test of how much someone is actually willing to part with for a phone, I can already see the iPhone X going on eBay for £1300 or more!
I wonder if anyone would be willing to pay £50-60+ a month for the IUP program plus the price of a sim only contract as well
i've had to move to the 200GB iCloud storage which currently 25% used.. but I have 5 devices using that and will share with the missus to save her paying for her additional storage.
i have 47GB of 128GB on my 7+ available... I think this is all pushing me to stick with the 128 again now I'm thinking about it.
with HEIF in theory the photos and videos will consume less space too

if you have a decent cheap sim only deal; that plus the cost of IUP would probably still be better than any of the new contracts that will come out this week.
There won’t be a 128GB to stick with, if rumours are to be believed. You must choose between 64GB and 256GB (potentially £999 and £1099).
iCloud Photo Library is remarkably efficient at handling storage so you’d probably be okay on 64GB even though on your 128GB you’ve used more than that.
defo the 256 in that case, I still think it will be 128, 256 & 512... its a cheap enough change for apple to help them somewhat justify the higher starting price
