...ok, cheers for clarifying.

So what about this scenario then: If opt to start the iPhone 8 with the Upgrade Program, would I be allowed to hand in my current, mint condition, iPhone 7 (which is currently being financed via Apple's PayPal Credit option), as a trade in, towards the cost of the 8?

you'd need to settle the finance and then do what others do and get a phone recycler to buy your current handset.. apple do it but I'm sure others would be more competitive..

unfortunately its not like buying a car

I personally would say no you wouldn't - because you would have had to set up the loan agreement with Barclays as I had to, but it wouldn't hurt to ask Apple before Friday.

Will have £440 remaining to pay on my 7 plus 256. I've locked in £520 with envirofone. If you hand your phone back to Apple when you upgrade (as expected) it's all done there-and-then. If I sell my phone to enviro, I then have to contact Barclays finance, pay them, get them to lear the finance agreement and then do the upgrade (which isn't an upgrade, so to speak). I'll just give it back to Apple, less hassle and things to go wrong.

Envirofone shows they'll give me £349 for my iPhone 7, which is awesome, seeing that my the outstanding finance on it with Apple's PayPaly Credit service is only £340!

How do I 'lock in' that price - do I have to complete the signup process, and actually process a 'sell' of my phone?

i've had to move to the 200GB iCloud storage which currently 25% used.. but I have 5 devices using that and will share with the missus to save her paying for her additional storage.

i have 47GB of 128GB on my 7+ available... I think this is all pushing me to stick with the 128 again now I'm thinking about it.

with HEIF in theory the photos and videos will consume less space too

if you have a decent cheap sim only deal; that plus the cost of IUP would probably still be better than any of the new contracts that will come out this week.

That would be nice to get an announce on a reduction on the 200GB plan tonight as an aside, given we're just storing higher res pictures with each phone iteration.
Whilst it's a small amount from each user it is after all a steady revenue stream (/sarcasm - the amount of revenue it is compared to everything else is probably lost change down the sofa).

Either way I think I will have to up my plan; my 50GB plan is nearly full and I don't need to keep photos on my device any more. But my daughter may well inherit my 6 next year (once the battery has been replaced) and will take loads under my family plan. She takes enough now on my old iPod touch...

Use code EXTRA5 for another 5% on top. Then just complete the order to get that price for 14 days. If you haven't sent your phone by about the 10th day, they will give you an offer to extend by another 7 days.

You would need to sell your 7 to pay off whats remaining then take out a new agreement for the 8/X on IUP.

Try CPW they give £320 (I guessed you have the 32gb) but it's paid into your bank from within the store, no hassle about sending it, paying for insurance, or even worse they coming back with a lower price. etc

I would have to do it the other way around (otherwise I''l be left without a phone - don;t have a spare!), i.e. Order the 8 on the IUP and then sell my 7 to envirofone and pay off the finance on the 7.

Be careful though the second the pricing is announced all older models will suddenly plummet in price as they know people will be desperate to get rid of them.

Timing is crucial so you are not out of pocket.

Im currently stuck in Orlando, Florida and you have all kept me sane the last few days!

Looking forward to the announcement and upgrading to the 8 from my 6S

I did mine yesterday. Always had best success the day before the event.

...with code, its now showing they'll give me £366!! is that for real?! Would I genuinely be given this exact amount?! Also, I'm not sure i am happy to enter bank account and sort code into that website...?!

I'm flight crew so have been sent here to rescue stranded passengers and bring them home to the UK. But been here 3 nights now with the hotel boarded up, on lockdown and with curfews etc. So will be nice to potentially be going home today

It's cool, I used them for my 6 plus and 6s plus. As long as it's not battered up, you'll get that price. I've never been knocked down or had problems.

I've never sold a phone to them before are they trustworthy and will they actually give you £349 or does it depend on condition?

Do they force you to trade in?

Do they force you to trade in?

Nope it's totally up to you a lot of people may just keep paying and skip every other generation
[doublepost=1505219958][/doublepost]A bit off topic but I don't seem to recall the Apple Store going down so early in previous years? Always thought it was within a couple of hours of the keynote speech.

....so I guess the only way to lock in that price is to sign up now to lock it in. If I sign up tomorrow, after tonight's announcement, as @durkasmurk posted above, prices for the 7 are likely to drop heavily.....

Yep. You aren't obligated to sell it to them either. Just email them if you change your mind and get them to cancel the sale. Last year I had 3 "sales" for the same device on the go at the same time, each with different prices vs different expiry dates. I just got them to cancel 2 of them when I knew when I'd get my new phone and could send in my old one.

...I wonder if Apple's trade in program will give more than envirofone (which is currently, £366)? Only thing is, is that the trade website currently just shows £0 for the iPhone 7 - i guess because there is no phone to upgrade to yet (there will be after tonight!)?!!
