Go into the app, you can search for a store you prefer and ‘save’ it, then select from that list. Saves a few more seconds.

Have the day off on Friday. Just in case I don’t get an early delivery date and I need to ring around/check out operator or other routes

Makes no difference for me, my nearest 2 stores aren’t the easiest to get to, the one I prefer is 3rd on the list when looking at stores to collect from for IUP, adding it as a favourite doesn’t put it at the top or save any time, am I doing something wrong?

Does anyone think the space grey will get easily scratched on the sides of the phone compared to the silver or is it vice versa?

Making a decision on which one I should go for.

Doesn’t sound great. Hopefully Apple will be air freighting them in to keep initial supplied regularly topped up while they ramp up

Yup not great, plus another report stating that only 20M will be made in 2017. iPhone sales on opening weekend are usually around 10 million alone. If we don't get in there in the first 3 minutes we're looking at January

Likely vice versa - coated should be more hard wearing. However - while plain stainless steel may scratch easier, you can also polish it out. You can’t do that on a coated finish..

I had that issue last year. Ordered with Apple pay but when it came to taking payment it failed. I called lloyds bank and they told me that the Apple pay payment was showing on their system as a ATM cash withdrawal, which of course you can’t take more than a couple hundred out at a time.

So I just called Apple and changed my payment method to a regular card payment and it was fine. My delivery date was unaffected.

So do Apple not take the money straight away for the preorder then? i.e. if something were to happen like you describe above, they wouldn't kick you out of the preorder 'queue' as the payment does not occur until later?

That’s correct Apple don’t take the money straight away. And yes my delivery date was unaffected by the above issue.

Are you using Apple Pay again on Friday? Do you recommend calling Lloyds first to warn them or does it not matter with AP as the payment is taken later?

Definitely going for silver, I think it shows off the phone better, and the front looks the same on both anyway. On my space black apple watch, the coating is pretty hard I have to say, however I read somewhere that the coating on the phone may not be the same, but that might not be correct.

Either way, for me, the silver looks better and will be insanely easy to polish therefore providing I don't scratch either glass surfaces, it should be able to look as good as new when time to sell comes

which case? Ive got a case here, just a cheap clear case to get me through until I get something better but im seriously thinking of going caseless for the first time. A good skin would be good though, but with all the shiny surfaces I don't want to ruin the look.

Looking at this one

Lol I love how optimistic everything in this thread is.

I expect that there will be NO launch day stock at all in Europe. If they have only made 2-3 million in total I get the feeling it will be sent to the US and China (as those are the biggest markets).

I think a early pre-order will be lucky to get 2-3 weeks for delivery. And that will be the soonest Apple will ship to anyone in Europe.

And even in the US I expect if your not on in the first minute you will be waiting the same period of time.

Bad timing - look at the front page. I still believe the constraint is greatly exaggerated.

I’ll just order with apple pay simply for the speed of the process. Using apple pay wasn’t a problem in placing the order. I’ll give lloyds a ring after the order is placed and see what they say. If it’s a problem i’ll just amend my payment method with apple again before they attempt to take payment.

Your joking right? If this was the case Apple will state it clearly however they have recently posted a update on their newsroom - https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2017/10/iphone-x-available-for-pre-order-on-friday-october-27/

What a EE customer got when asking about the 256GB prices

I'm still due to get my trade in for my old iPhone and payday is still a few days away from launch day, if I pre order and the full balance isn't in my account will it not go through, or will it be ok until it's about to be shipped?

Regarding the front page story - the UK press release has now gone out with the same wording. So in-store walk-in availability is for the UK as well, not just the US.

I'm going to be pre-ordering one for the wife as well as myself on Friday, am I best off doing these as two separate orders or just one?
