I understand but you’re still paying the same amount for the phone right? And recouping a similar if not less amount when trading it in vs selling privately?

For some people they don't have that much money to shell out in in one go.
I know some would say that people shouldn't buy a phone that they can't afford (outright) but hey not many people can afford to buy their home outright and so take a mortgage. IUP (or apple payments without Applecare)

.................anything is possible and have to hope for the best, but expect the worst I guess. :(

Good motto in this case. I remember someone once saying to me 'high hopes and low expectations' which is same sort of thing!

True, and this isn't the place for that debate but a house is not in the same league as a non essential piece of technology IMO. Neither is a car or any of those other things people buy on credit. I have a mortgage, yes, and I can see how it is seen as the same thing, which is why everybody has different views on things. And yes I have multiple credit cards, but they get paid off the same day as using them, I only use them for section 75/airmiles etc.

Having said all that, the iUp is almost tempting just down the ease of not having to sell your phone privately afterwards, so I can see how it could be beneficial for some.

Has anyone noticed on the FAQs on the IUP, the requirements that you NEED to bring to sign up - Bank details, personal info, photo ID, AND CURRENT MOBILE PHONE..
Am I supposed to hand them my current iphone? Of course I would have it with me, but it reads like I have to swap it, and as a new upgrader.... I would want to hand it down to a family member.

That’s only relevant if you’re upgrading and are already on the IUP.

You have the option of trading in your existing phone if you want but it’s not a requirement for a new IUP

Yes that is the whole point you swap the iPhone for a new one! When you say you want to hand down to a family member you are talking about an iPhone you took out out IUP last year? If you mean you are signing up for first time to IUP then of course not!!

If I get a quote for life insurance it’s £21.50 per month for 20 years £220k. A joint cover with my wife is £41. But surely it would make more sense for us each to get separate cover?

Can you have multiple coverage?

AFAIK you don't need to do the whole 'arch' thing to switch between apps. A simple pan gesture along the home function area will switch left/right. This works in the simulator, and pretty sure that's how it was demoed in the Keynote
It’s funny (and annoying) how pre-release hardware so often seems to end up in the hands of people who don’t know how to use it properly.

Hehehe I wanted a mega like button for this one not a pathetic thumbs up!

Guys on Friday if I'm reserving through the iUP (I'm already enrolled with my iPhone 7) what is the quickest route?

Hi Not been on here for sometime but my take on the X is that the 8/8+ did not sell well,so as Apple's 50% or more revenue comes from the iPhone, and it will be on sale in 55 countries, 2-3 million is just another selling tool by Apple.
I would say there will be more like 10 million for the launch weekend.Think about it.

Guys, let’s just worry about what you need to do to pre-order no need to speculate. Just hit that button and pre-order, it’s global chain of logistics that doesn’t concern us lol, all we need to worry about is: 1. Have enough money to pay for it. 2. Your address is correct. 3. Get up early on Friday.

Just spoke to Apple. Don’t want to put anyone off (as if!) but they said they think this will be the worst ever launch for supply.
