I have set my alarm for 7am tomorrow so I can get to work early before 8.01 and get everything ready, never done this before for a phone and hopefully next year it will be as easy to order as the iPhone 8 or 8 plus.

Will grab myself a much needed coffee at 7.30am, go upstairs into our meeting room and wait an agonising 30 minutes before the pre orders open.

Then straight after go onto the forums here and see what’s happening,

I'm not 100% certain but surely tapping out into Account then back into your preferred configuration should do the trick? It seems to do a reload when you do. But again, that's guesswork.

It does seem to refresh and this seems a lot faster than closing the app and going back in each time.

Will have the Apple store open on my pc at the same time as well just to see which one picks it up first.

I have a question, ahaha. As the poll shows that most people will go for the silver 255gb , will Apple be expecting this and manufacture more of that variant?. If not , would there then be more chance of getting a phone if you go for a 64gb silver?.
Still trying to decide between the two , would prefer 256 but if there’s more chance of getting a 64gb I might be tempted.:)

I agree it does seem to refresh, wonder if anyone knows from previously doing it if this works or if the app does in fact need killing and reopening.

no one knows what apple's production plans are but we're all here to speculate, and boy we've done a lot of that since the keynote!

remember this is a poll on an enthusiasts site.. most people will be 'power' users who want or need the bigger capacity.

the other 95% of people who make up Apple's customers might just want an X and as cheap as possible

I think only stipulation is whether doing a refresh that way is sufficient to get the Apple store app to recognise that you can now buy the phone?

I wouldn't risk it personally, hopefully a few seconds difference won't matter but if using this trick doesn't work it could mess things up

The app usually goes down completely I think (Can’t use it at all)

The Apple Store App displays the same 'We'll be back soon' page as the Apple Website, Hence it displays none of the Navigation options on the tab bar.

exactly.. the app will not show anything apart from the we'll be back soon message... Force close and reopen to make sure you're not seeing a cached page

So on my hunt to work out who you can Pre-order an iPhone X from tomorrow morning I have found out:

Apple: Well duh...
Stormfront (APR): Tomorrow 8:01am (UPDATE: Very limited stock for launch day delivery)
John Lewis: 8am 3rd November (I saw someone earlier mention 700 of each variant available)
Argos: UPDATE: Pre-orders tomorrow (No Confirmed time)

If anyone has anywhere else they think might stock unlocked iPhone X's reply and Ill try to get in contact with the store/chain.

What’s carphone warehouse like for pre orders?

They're only accepting pre-orders if you buy it on contract. If you want £25 off you can sign up for the deposit scheme where you pay £25 and they add £25, and they'll take the £50 off the upfront cost.

But only for contracts. They wont be selling SIM - Free units.

Carphone looks to be cheaper than Vodafone for now. CPW £26GB for £68pm with £99 up front is almost certainly the VF £68pm for 26GB plan. But VF is £150 up front, and CPW will contribute £25 to the deposit if you preregistration today. So effectively £75 up front which is half price.

Still comes out to about £29 per month for the mobile plan which is a lot more than the VF £20 for 20GB plan

Created a John Lewis account as well and added the iPhone 10 my wish list as a backup plan.

Would anyone guess if you could order the phone at just gone midnight on the 02/11 seems you can buy the phone on the 03/11?

It's from "8am on the 3rd" for John Lewis sadly.

In the past they used to put them up at midnight, but recently they changed to the 8am launch day structure.

I am working from home tomorrow so at 7.55 tomorrow I will have my fully charged iPhone, iPad and MacBook ready to go sat right next to my router. My ipad will be using 4G rather than my wifi....in case Sky Fibre goes down. I am taking no chances :)
