Not anytime soon you won't. Wouldn't be a smart business decision from EE to put out better deals than going on contract and you can't really wait around hoping something will come up

should of took the offer they had the other day..

looks like I will be doing the £87.99 a month annual upgrade contract.

I was offered 20gb for £19 only a few weeks back. I told them I’d be ringing back in a few weeks time when my contract expires.

If I don’t get what I’m after I’ll talk to the retention’s team.

There’s always a way around if your savvy enough

You a existing customer? Think for new customers it’s far harder.

Haha. Realised as soon as I posted it.

Ask a stupid question.... lol

Heh. I'll be playing Stardew Valley on the Switch until i feed the baby ~ 11:30 and then try and get some sleep.

Am working tomorrow so good chance i'll need to potter by waterloo station trying to use 4G and my app at 8am before getting on the waterloo and city line :-(

Paying monthly to a provider is just a way of hiding to yourself that you are spending £1000 on a phone. If you have the money in savings then its best to buy it straight out, and setup a monthly transfer from your current account back into your savings account until you pay yourself back.

Definitely, buy upfront then put money aside for next years model

Just report any ebay listings like that - that's what I do as seeing them peeve me off.
They're against ebay terms of services so they'll take it down.

What’s everyone going to do if they don’t get an X in a decent time frame? Cancel and go for an 8 and wait for next years model or just hold out till it arrives?

Virgin Mobile contract prices are very cheap and there's zero upfront cost:
  • 1.2 GB, 300 mins and unlimited texts for £37 a month
  • 5 GB, 1500 mins and unlimited texts for £40 a month
  • 8 GB, 2500 mins and unlimited texts for £43 a month
  • 40GB, 5000 mins and unlimited texts for £46 a month
Although these are 36 month contracts, so I guess its more suited for people who don't upgrade every year, but every three years. I guess even if you upgrade every two years, you can simply trade in your phone and pay off the remaining installments with the money and start a new contract.

Can’t imagine getting into a 3 year contract!

I'll get an 8+, I have spotted many people on eBay selling brand new unopened 8+ 64GB or 256GB for nearly £100-150 off, some of them are carrier locked, some are unlocked. I don't mind buying a carrier locked one if it's the Vodafone model. But £100-150 off? I'll take that.

Next year is going to be interesting because of the delays with the iPhone X. If Apple go back to traditional September releases with the iPhone 11, most people on the UIP programme or a carrier contract will only be 10 months in to their contract

Come on where is the iPhone 9 ?

Yeah I think I’ll do that same, I don’t mind waiting till before Christmas but any longer and I’ll get an 8+ too

Vodafone just told me that their 256GB price is £200 upfront, £4.94 delivery charge and £68 per month, (which you can enjoy a 15% rebate if eligible). This is for 16GB+10GB (promo), unlimited minutes, unlimited calls, 24 months contract. Seems much more sensible. Also, phone comes with 2 years warranty if bought from them.

Not bad. 15% off of you already have a line with them? I have two but not sure if I’d qualify if I want to keep my number from a sim only?

Their previous pricing said £68 per month with £150 up front for the 64GB. So maybe that will drop as only £50 more for the 256 doesn’t add up

I'd like one before Christmas but i'm not desperate, my 6s is still a fully functional (rubbish battery) phone. I'll wait it out.

Also i keep forgetting, its not £1000. It's £1050. Because apple leather case right.

Whats the best method to preorder/ugrade to iPhone X via Three? What time is Three's preorder and what part of their site is the page to refresh?

Plan to preorder with Apple but also upgrade with Three and cancel the slowest to ship and keep whatever comes first, but bit confused on Three's preorder method....

Everything crossed for the morning. Best of luck everyone. Will be incredibly hard to look on if unsuccessful in getting one for launch.

I hope my local Apple Authorized Reseller in Oxford has some iPhone X units on Nov 3rd, will just go there and pick one up. Oxford is a tiny city so I don't expect the reseller to sell out of iPhones quickly.

I actually am going to do this, I have also favourited a case if they become available tomorrow morning. I'd rather have it all done and dusted. Just been on Apple website to check all my details and delivery address etc even got the money in my account just incase

Seriously, lesson from prior releases - it's not worth adding anything else to your order, much better to get your order for the handset in and then worry about AppleCare, covers, etc. You can add AppleCare to your phone for up to 60 days from purchase, and you can order a case separately once you've got your phone order locked in. Getting that order in matters, especially when stock is (expected to be) limited.

The phone comes with 2 years warranty no matter where you buy it from. EU law.
