Think the app was the way to go. Kept refreshing. Ordered from my favourites. Pickup in store 9-9:30 next Fri. Email confirmation at 8:06.

Refreshed Safari at about 8:10 and store was still down. Tried Firefox... same story.

Aside from it not being up dead on 8:01, it was a breeze on the app. Easier than trying to pre-order the 7 last year in the USA.
 
seems very much out of order to seemingly limit access to the app. I was trying (like others) since 8:01 and my app was still down at 8:13, yet others were on immediately. If you can't handle the traffic, just don't open anyone until you can. Lottery sucks

Exactly the same experience here. Just a bad experience. By the time I had gotten to the reservations page it said I could get one for the 11th Nov, but I couldn't lock it in and by the time I did, it finalized at the 2nd of Dec.
 
Even though it was on the hotel wi-fi I was in and done within a minute and got my confirmation email by 10:02 (08:02 UK time). 256 SG delivery on the 3rd! So chuffed! Had problems with the app not opening up to the store the past couple of years, so glad it went without a hitch this year
 
Guys mine messed up

Went through with Friday 3rd delivery - got email confirmation but then 5 minutes later got a notification saying Apple Pay transaction declined

The online order has no date for delivery and says order placed.

Has this happend to anyone before?
 
Luckily my girlfriend saved the day for me.. after ordering her two. Firefox and Apple Store app were having none of it for me (even after dropping back to 4G from wifi) - had chosen a Leeds pickup time for the 3rd Nov - and was at the TouchID waiting for me to PingIt the cash. Go for TouchID, says "Processing", then an error. Try again and now didn't have pickup option only delivery form Nov 13-Nov 20.
Oh well! Could've been worse as shipping dropped to 4-5 weeks quickly. Now they're unavailable.

Now shipping is 4-5 weeks :rolleyes:

Well my banks getting an earful, idiots!
 
My order doesn't appear to be tied to my Apple ID for some reason. I can go into it with the order number but not with my ID, anyone else have this problem?

Now shipping is 4-5 weeks :rolleyes:

just tried to take money for 256GB SG 3rd delivery, nationwide credit card declined for fraud check! what happens next? oh no
 
App and website didn’t load up for me until around 8:14... tbh I probably wasn’t smashing the refresh quick enough.

Anyway ordered silver 64 for 2-3 weeks.

It’s strange that they aren’t shipping any in 1-2 weeks

Interesting I tried to get a pick up in Edinburgh on the app at 08.04 but it said unavailable but managed quickly to still snag one for home delivery on the 3rd. Would have preferred a store pick up as wanted to do the iphone payments plan but couldn't get into the website on safari until after 08.10 by which time I was leaving the house so not refreshing the screen so regularly and when I got into the reservations pages they had stopped taking them.

More difficulty getting into this forum after 8.10!!


So Silver 256gb delivers 3 Nov :) :) Wouldn't say app was a breeze as I had to change delivery and payment method part way through but still had it done at 8.04 and email by 8.05. I wasn't 100% certain i got 3/11 delivery until I got the email confirmation.

Had an issue with my first choice of Grey 256 on the IUP on my iPad...got the following screen and every time i clicked the "Reserve" button i kept getting that popup...

must have been pressing it for like 4-5 mins.
moved over to the phone and did via app for a Silver 256 and that one went through with confirmation for 18/11. So strange what happened on the iPad.

Yeah I did, paid with Apple Pay though the app - first time that's happened but I guess it's because there's such a high demand this year. Tbh I prefer it as it's one less thing to worry about next week :)
 
Seems to me that Apple picks who gets to open the store first, maybe by area and then picks randomly who gets launch and who gets after, there are people who ordered minutes before others but got 2-3 weeks or worse compared to them getting the 3rd.

Just really seems to be more to it than just how quickly you order, probably to spread the load.

Managed to order one on Safari for 2-3 weeks delivery.

On the iUP too but when I got through on the app, only managed to get a reservation for 2nd December.

I'll get the phone on my paid for order 13 - 20 Nov, hopefully take that into the Apple Store and convert into iUP upgrade. If they won't do that then hold on the couple of weeks for the reservation and return the one that I've bought.

Anyone know if they'll convert the purchase into the iUP upgrade? I'm thinking that it will be processed as a refund and then use the same phone to do the upgrade.

EXACTLY the same happened to me!! First Direct

Called them up last night to tell them specific about, time, and which card, and I STILL got a decline!!
(Order placed to have delivery on 3 Nov too!)

Bank's advice: "Just try ordering again".... Yeah, too ***** late

Trying to get through to Apple now (NIGHTMARE), as sometimes they re-attempt payment, which should be fine as they've lifted the block

(Also, only notification of rejected payment happened to be a push notification on phone - no call, no email from Apple, no email from bank... would they have bothered to inform me any other way?!)
