Every other year as far back as the iPhone 6 the launch day deliveries were already in the UK.
But if they were not launch day then it would occasionally come from China. If all your orders have come from China then you have been slow basicallyas they are not launch day.
You are mistaken about the country your phone was shipped from if it was a UK delivery. They are always in the UK waiting for next day. (Of course all are made in China).

I have ordered every single year except the 3GS. The 7 was already high stock I think, mine came from the UK.
Took 5hrs to sort out my payment issue after the apple pay payment was declined this morning. Halifax didn't block my transaction when I checked either.
When I was finally able to update the card manually on the website it kept failing saying not authorised no matter how I tried. Tried contacting apple via the phone but they were so busy I couldn't even get in the queue, and even the web chat kept saying they were full.
Finally able to schedule a call via the support app and I had a nice person call me from Texas.
Explained everything and I gave him my card details and the payment went through first time perfectly. What a bloody nightmare to sort out. Still scheduled for a 3rd November though and it's preparing for dispatch so all is well

Well, the price is the price (unless you're going to buy on Ebay / from another source via a scalper). Scarcity in this case does nothing to change what Apple get for the phone, it just means they get the money later. I don't think many successful businesses leave money on the table deliberately: I think "this stuff is complicated and hard to manufacture at scale" is a much more likely explanation.

Carphone Warehouse is now showing delivery as the 10th November for the space grey. Might be a good sign for those getting estimated delivery as the 03rd
Delivery, was paid for using Apple Pay, wondering if the issues this morning are affecting it, it shows as approved in my Wallet though.

Yup it's crazy and people are paying £1400 to £1999 for them, lowest price was £1179 so they will probably be worse off with the paypal and ebay fees!
I ordered the iPX 256gb in Space Grey earlier this morning at 08.06. Like many others, I also ordered via Apple Pay and had a decline notification 20 minutes later. After a phone call to the bank it was confirmed there was not a problem with the bank but rather the merchant.
I then checked my Apple order status to find 'Awaiting Payment', I tried to update payment to the details on my card various times to no avail.
Finally, I got through to Apple CS department to have the problem resolved almost instantly, clearly he had experienced the same problem multiple times throughout the day.
I am happy to say I will be joining the iPX club next Friday!
In hindsight, I believe without using Apple Pay I would not be receiving the device on release date.

Could be just a delay in status. Haven’t ordered one myself but was checking it wasn’t a pickup as they don’t change status until the day before pickup.
Was ordered at around 8:15 this morning, just confusing. Won't let me try and change payment method to card either.

I've done the same as others.. I missed 3rd delivery from Apple - I'm on 2-3 weeks, so took a punt with CPW too.. I placed the order at 11:53 and it seems to be arriving on 3rd......although my friend works in Jersey and has ordered 2x 256Gb iPhone X's from a reseller there for £998 instead of £1149... joys of tax free
