I paid via Apple Pay and the order went through (pickup at store on nov 3rd) but on my bank account there is no authorisation?

Mine’s preparing for dispatch

My order is 'order in progress', not preparing for dispatch like yours. Is that because I'm picking mine up in store (I didn't reserve - I ordered and paid thru apple pay but clicked pickup in store)

Took 5hrs to sort out my payment issue after the apple pay payment was declined this morning. Halifax didn't block my transaction when I checked either.

When I was finally able to update the card manually on the website it kept failing saying not authorised no matter how I tried. Tried contacting apple via the phone but they were so busy I couldn't even get in the queue, and even the web chat kept saying they were full.

Finally able to schedule a call via the support app and I had a nice person call me from Texas.

Explained everything and I gave him my card details and the payment went through first time perfectly. What a bloody nightmare to sort out. Still scheduled for a 3rd November though and it's preparing for dispatch so all is well :D
Same here... all sorted now though. Preparing for dispatch. Time to start wishing away another week!

Yeah, should have got my family in Guernsey to order one for me, but couldn't wait... lol

Yeh, same boat here tbh... we're not 100% that the Jersey ones will arrive on 3rd... so I don't mind paying the normal price if I don't have to wait from CPW (who have 100% confirmed 3rd delivery, I'll believe it when I see it)

Can anyone tell me if I should be worried...

Reserved 64GB for pickup in store on 3rd, buying via iUP.

I can see my reservation in the app and on the desktop site, but I haven’t had an email or anything. Are you supposed to get email confirmation when buying via iUP or is it only for people buying outright?

whenu say reserved, u mean u already paid for it and going to pick up ? or just reserved hand set and u will pay at the store ?

Apple just loves to see people jumping through hoops to buy its products. I'm sure the 'shortages' are deliberate. It's a well known capitalist formula - anything perceived as 'scarce' or 'difficult to get hold of' creates demand and fosters high prices. I'm sure were there a steady supply from release day many would wait, have a look at the product, read reviews and then make an informed decision . . .

Have you ever tried shipping a highly complex cutting edge product in quantities of tens of millions per quarter? Are you suggesting they should wait until they have stockpiled a whole years worth of stock before they start shipping? How about a quarter's worth? A month?

Apple are a bit unique in the industry in that they only release the iPhone once a year and at any point in time only sell a few models. If they were to wait until they had enough stock to satisfy everyone who intends to buy on launch day then they'd probably need to delay launch 3-4 months, and during that time incur crippling cost of inventory losses. It would also mean waiting 6 months after product announcement to actually buy it or alternatively they would start building before announcement and just have leak after leak about the product and give competitors a big advantage by getting to see what Apple are releasing 6 months down the line.

So, what they seem to be doing is getting through advanced prototypes and probably doing small batches of each candidate (hence conflicting leaks during that phase) before settling on the final product. They then can start ramping production while conducting the launch event and gauging market interest and product mix expectations so they can tweak the production accordingly. Finally, they wait for the optimum point between having enough inventory to satisfy a large number of early adopters without waiting so long that people lose interest and inventory costs get too high.

Most people are happy to wait a few weeks to get their phone and the people who can't or don't want to wait just have to do all they can to grab one of the first batch of units. The scarcity you speak of is a result of the huge demand, not some artificial supply constraint. You can be sure Apple are making these phones just as fast and early as they possibly can.

checked spam?
and to answer your question no you should not be worried. If the reservation is in your app then it is confirmed

Guys I've smashed my iPhone and I'm on the iUP with a reservation for the iPX on Friday. Do I need to get this fixed before Friday or can I just pay the fee on Friday? Anyone help me on this?

I'm actually in Guernsey next weekend, but I know for a fact they won't have them at least for a few weeks...

How the heck did people get their orders in this morning earlier than about 08:10 in the UK?

I had my iPad on wifi, my iPhone SE on Vodafone 4G refreshing every flippin second, and the Apple store app only went live for me at about 08:09. Then after everyone saying to make sure you favourite the phone a day or so before so its quicker to select when your ordering. When I clicked on Favourites I got an error box coming up, so had to go in an select the phone which wasted a few seconds I guess, but after I paid with Apple pay I got the conformation email at 08:11. Delivery 13-20 Nov. Which means what exactly, delivery on the 15th Perhaps ?

2-3 weeks till it ships. Can add on 5-7 more days whilst it works it’s way through the 10 countries or so my 7+ did last year

Always get caught out with that!!

Such a busy day so not been able to keep up or come on the forum. Just checked my order and it is preparing for dispatch whoo hoo!! 3 Nov here we come.

I have a feeling I was just lucky. Had my iPhone and iPad. Closed both Apple Store apps, soon as it hit 08:01 and I was off. About 15 seconds later I had finished. Confirmation received at 08:02.
