Does Apple send you an email or notification if they try to take payment but it fails (i.e because your bank declined it for fraud reasons)? Saw people's post here saying they had to retry payment, and I don't want to lose my delivery estimate because my bank declined the transaction before the phone ships!

Watch you Apple Order on the Apple website, if payment is declined they will show it and offer a tab to change payment details or retry apple pay.

This is why you've got to go SIM free and get on Tesco Mobile. Don't give these scum companies your money.

Good prices, good customer service and the network has never failed me as they use O2.

2 x 256gb space grey - one is pickup at 0900 on the 3rd Nov and the other is delivery on 3rd Nov

Ordered at 08.04.

Don’t actually need the delivery one now as well as i got in store pick up so will prefer to do that!

However it’s changed to preparing for dispatch so i cant cancel it! So I will have to return it when it arrives.

Feel bad now as someone else could’ve got it :)

Sell it man. Surely you could at least make a 400 quid profit.

lol honestly I don't have the time to constantly monitor my order status as I have other things to do, so I was wondering if anyone knows whether Apple sends you some sort of email or notification to let you know that they were unable to charge the card, I mean I am sure they do, but just want to hear it from someone who has experienced it.

I also placed an order and received s second email like your second pic but how do you pull up that info on the top pic you have

Edit... never mind found it

My heart sank a moment ago saw a pop up from HSBC on my ipad and thought oh crap what now, it was from 8.37am this morning confirming the payment... phew!

Unfortunately it was ordered through my companty (i am a joint director) so if I sell it, i am liable to pay corporation tax on any profits...pointless really! I either return it or sell it face value :)

Also not interested in flipping it for profit...pathetic, shameful behaviour !!

I received no email, I picked it up with the notification from Apple Pay on my screen. I checked order status and details about payment problem and how to correct was shown. Ok if you are unable to check the status once a day then be prepared to lose order if no emails are forthcoming.

Ordered 0806 on Apple website
Apple Store App wouldn’t load

I’ve placed 3 orders, I didn’t get into the app until 08:10 for some strange reason. I was refreshing on both my iPhone and iPad. 2-3 weeks delivery from Apple.

Managed to get a order placed at Argos and CPW for the 3rd.

Will more than likely cancel the Argos one as it’s silver and I really wanted black

I received both an email and a text/iMessage when my payment wasn’t authorised.

Can anyone explain how the IUP worked this year for them please? Was it still a mad rush like this morning buying outright?

Do you have to go through a few more clicks to chose what you want for the IUP, and then it has to be a store pickup? you can't get delivery? what if a store near you hasn't got stock, but a buying outright would have availability just tough?

If you were giving back your original iPhone, what if its worth more? can you just pay up etc etc?

I managed to get a IUP pickup in a store and a delivery thats all so not sure what to do

thanks

I am trying not to worry, however I finally managed to place an order for my iPhone X at 08:14 and got a 2-3 week dispatch time.

My order is still showing as placed and hasn't moved to Order in Progress. Ive never know any of my previous orders to stay at placed and not progressed for this length of time.

Is anyone else with a 2-3 week delivery slot in the same boat?

Took 5hrs to sort out my payment issue after the apple pay payment was declined this morning. Halifax didn't block my transaction when I checked either.

When I was finally able to update the card manually on the website it kept failing saying not authorised no matter how I tried. Tried contacting apple via the phone but they were so busy I couldn't even get in the queue, and even the web chat kept saying they were full.

Finally able to schedule a call via the support app and I had a nice person call me from Texas.

Explained everything and I gave him my card details and the payment went through first time perfectly. What a bloody nightmare to sort out. Still scheduled for a 3rd November though and it's preparing for dispatch so all is well :D

Exact same thing happened to me! When I finally got it sorted an hour or so ago Apple said it was because Apple Pay was limited to £100. I don’t know if that is true or not but it’s all sorted now so...

Mine failed (Apple Pay) and I noted this in the app and fixed it with phone calls to my bank and Apple.

I didn’t get any email saying it has failed and now it’s preparing for dispatch.

I put through £2,500 no problems through Apple Pay this morning so not limited to £100

Had an absolute nightmare waiting for the app this morning. Managed to place my order about 20 past 8 on the website whilst at my desk at work. Currently waiting on a 4-5 week lead time, so going to cancel and see what else I can do

My order (2 - 3 week delivery) was showing as placed when I checked it earlier this afternoon - I managed to order at about 8.15 this morning.

However I just checked now after reading your post and it's changed to "Order in Progress".

I wanted to find out if anyone knows if changing the delivery address at this time would cause any delays? Basically, it defaulted to being delivered to my home address, but I'd like to change it to my work address as there's normally no-one at home during the day in the working week.
