I ordered from CPW after Apple store wouldn't load and Argos said January delivery. Got a text saying the transaction was decline, texted back to clear it and rang CPW.

The transaction went through and they said it would be delivered on 3rd. But I don't know if they're just saying that because thats what their website said for ages. Did anyone else have the 3rd confirmed?

No, delivery dates from CPW isn't confirmed for anyone until Nov 3rd or a day before, which is when the stock arrives at their warehouse, and that is when you'll get a more accurate estimate if your delivery time/day.

All third party retailers and carriers have no idea about their stock until Nov 3rd or a day before, they only have a rough idea about how much stock they will be getting, so it's impossible to hand a "confirmation" or "guarantee" re: delivery date or stock

Only if you buy from Apple you can get a guaranteed or confirmed estimate. If CPW says you that your order is confirmed for Nov 3rd delivery, don't full believe it.

First time I've had the chance to post in here all day! I was at work on my phone trying from 8am, managed to order through the app with confirmation email at 08:10 with 2-3 weeks on dispatch.. I paid by Apple Pay and I've had nothing to say it's been declined but it's not in my wallet as a transaction! On the Apple website, my order has 'Order in Progress' as the status.. not sure if I should message Apple or Halifax just to make sure things are ok?

Anyone else the same or similar?

Ok.. so I could still end up queuing up outside the Apple store at all hours just to get one.

My order page on Apple my shipping date is 13th - 20th Nov, so just wanted to know when they take payment, before or once they start the shipping process?

I placed a second order at 8.25am - for collection from an apple store on Friday.

The delivery to home were all showing several weeks!

Obviously a bit late now for everyone but next year check the pickup availablity first before selecting home delivery!

It seems quite a few of you could have gotten your phones on Launch day from a store instead of waiting weeks.

The day it ships is when they charge.

I had issues with Apple Pay and Halifax. Wouldn’t hurt to call both and put your mind at rest.

I have a slight dilemma, after a significant donation from the parents, I'm going to order a 64GB X. Now do I just order it online with the 5-6 week wait in the hope it comes sooner or do I try pick one up in store, in Belfast. Queuing on 3/11 isn't an option and the stocking and reservations seems a bit of a lottery.

Any advice??

Yes, see previous posts, I also posted two screenshots

Wow, that’s pretty lucky! Could be legit considering the payment processing issues this morning. Fingers crossed for you.
Edit... just noticed you’re going for pickup... that’s possibly even more lucky!

8.25am and I still got one for pickup.

Can't believe it's PFD already!

I'm guessing it's going to be like that until Thursday! It's the first time I've managed to get an iPhone on launch day! :D So the next question is... do we think the iPhones being delivered next Friday are already in the country?

Apple must not use the same statuses which exist in the online order status?
Nah - it's kinda a weird quirk of the paid pickup system. It's as if you were buying something online for same day store pickup, where your order comes out of the store's existing stock. So nothing is actually shipped to the store for you. Just on Thursday night, they'll print off all the reservation name stickers and that's when the status changes to "ready for collection".

Those who didn't manage to grab one for next Friday can attempt to reserve for in store collection from Nov 4 here.
IIRC stores will receive new deliveries just days after launch.

It’s beyond stupid there are so many way to order the phone.

That reserve and pay in store option was no where to be seen on the site. I have placed 2 orders to be sent to store but I would have preferred to pay on pick up... if I had been able to find that link!

We have delivery, collect and reserve. Payment plans, Carrier contracts and IPU programme. And there are not all next to the buy button which is where they should be!

I just contacted Apple on live chat and they said it all looks good from their end, just suggested to phone Halifax and let them know a large transaction will go through over the next 2-3 weeks so when they do charge my card/Apple pay then it won't get blocked!

No, but I know that for a lot of people, including me, the app didn’t go live until I switched from WiFi to 4G

Okay so I was refreshing it from 7:55 to 8:01, my app came up exactly at 8:01:42 seconds, I finished my order at 8:02:01, then I can't even see the order status, that's when apple's server went crazy. so it was sheer luck I got the order before most of people who refreshed their app at 8:01.

My confirmation email time stamp is exactly on 8:02.
