If only I had a time machine so I could go to next Friday already. Also is there a thread for iPhone X accessories? Saw this really nice case and wanted opinions on it. Deffo buying one just Incase but wanna see how the X feels without one. Also in terms of screen protector, don’t want none of the crap that has an outline like the 7plus ones. Might just end up paying 20 for those Belkin ones Apple sell.

My reservation won’t be available till december 2nd... is this bad? Or could it have been worse?

Kinda gutted to wait so long but don’t think there is an alternative.

Had a tell of a time this morning when the works WiFi wasn’t working so was trying to use the app with 3G and the website was still saying ‘come back’
 
It’s beyond stupid there are so many way to order the phone.

That reserve and pay in store option was no where to be seen on the site. I have placed 2 orders to be sent to store but I would have preferred to pay on pick up... if I had been able to find that link!

We have delivery, collect and reserve. Payment plans, Carrier contracts and IPU programme. And there are not all next to the buy button which is where they should be!
At least we don't have to verify through a carrier before ordering like they do in the States!
 
No, but I know that for a lot of people, including me, the app didn’t go live until I switched from WiFi to 4G
I was at home but switched to 4G as my WiFi upload speed was awful, used the app at 8:03 got launch day phone. My new fibre broadband connected at one pm but was a bit late by then!
 
Nah - it's kinda a weird quirk of the paid pickup system. It's as if you were buying something online for same day store pickup, where your order comes out of the store's existing stock. So nothing is actually shipped to the store for you. Just on Thursday night, they'll print off all the reservation name stickers and that's when the status changes to "ready for collection".

I managed to get on the app at 8:15. My upgrade date is November 18.

How do lines work for pickup in the window?

When I queued overnight (in Bath) for the 6 Plus, there ended up being 2 queues - one for those who had queued overnight on a "first come, first served" basis (where people were eventually allocated stock in the queue around 7am) and a second, much shorter, queue for those who had a specific slot.

I didn't enjoy the overnight queue experience, so have paid online since, but I expect the system will be similar now

I was 90 seconds out from launch day :( the app just wouldn't open anything till 08:08..

Same. App on both my iPhone and iPad refused anything except 'we’ll be right back' for about 20 minutes by which time it was too late. Stumbled through TMBG the website instead.

Next time I’ll make sure I have the website ready and all my details stored, rather than out my faith too heavily in the app which many of us did this time.

I don’t mind the app being unavailable for a while, but I do mind it being so wildly variable for different people
 
When you arrive, there should be 2 lines. One for people with a booked slot for either paid pickup, iUP new or iUP upgrade, and one for walk ins. You will obviously have priority.

Never been on the IUP before, reserved mine at my local store (Norwich, UK). Got to the confirmation page, have it in my Apple Wallet and all, but still not received any confirmation email, more than 12 hours later.
Same its shown on app on my iPhone and online logged in, so must be ok

That’s usually the case. I’m picking mine up from Chapelfield as well, 14.00. What time is yours?
