Only just had a chance to post on this, I managed to get in just past the hour and go through the app went through at 8:03 and got one for launch day, but 20 mins later I got the text saying they declined it :( Went back on and tried to order another, shipping had slipped but could get one at the Trafford centre so ordered that. An hour later I could get back into orders and found I had two orders, as the bank had cleared it. So ive got two 256gb Greys, one getting delivered on the 3rd, the other for pickup on the afternoon of the 3rd. So it all worked out ok. Wasn’t sure either were going through until I got a chance to logon as I’ve been driving and meetings all day

For stores like musicMagpie, can I get a quote to lock my price in for 14 days, but back out without penalty if there are any issues getting my replacement on time? They’re offering £220 for my IPhone 6s which is pretty good but sure to drop soon. But I might try selling privately and also want to make sure I’m not stuck without a phone in case my X is slow arriving

A Tozo Case on amazon for 8 quid. Looks quite decent. Tempted to get it
I Have had this case before but for the 7+, I will say that for the price it was great, very thin and will protect from light scratches but will give you 0 protection from anything else. Im thinking of getting one too again, I've bought a temporary cheap clear case to protect it till I decide what I want to do but the problem with the Tozo case or similar is that they aren't clear and for once I want to phone to show through completely. I'm therefore looking for the thinnest clear case I can find to show off the sexy stainless edge!
[doublepost=1509136099][/doublepost]Anyone looking to get a sale on their old phone, I just did an order to sell mine to Envirofone, a little less than some others but rather go with a trusted name. They lock the price in for 14 days and send you a pack to package the phone up to send to them.

Also if you use code EXTRA5 you get an extra 5% on top, so I got £380 for my 7+ 32gb

Are you keeping both?

as mentioned in the T+Cs, for Envirofone they lock the price in for 14 days and if you send it after that, they just pay you the market price at the time. They do say if you won't send it in the 14 days then let them know but there's no mention of penalties. Dont know if music magpie is different

Exactly, I want a see through case, you know any good ones?
[doublepost=1509136341][/doublepost]Did anyone pre order through Argos? And if so what date did it give you? Check your Argos order account history cos it’s saying order will be delivered in Janurary despite saying it’ll be delivered next Friday. They also emailed saying they’ll let us know in two days when item will be dispatched.

Usually both, but remember there phones are locked to the network of the first sim you out in them. You can put any one in there, but once you’ve done it your locked to that network

That's not correct. iPhone's sold by John Lewis are always unlocked. I bought my 6s from John Lewis and never had any issues changing networks.

I'd think they would have to mention such a thing somewhere as well

What is SIM Free?

You'll receive the iPhone Unlocked without having to commit to any network, leaving you free to decide which SIM card to use in the device. This gives you the opportunity to find the most suitable plan, whether that’s contract or pay-as-you-go, throughout the lifetime of the phone. You also have the option to add a foreign SIM card, so you can use the iPhone overseas.

I’m on the iUP and I’m disappointed that we don’t get a head start.

The workaround is to order for delivery or in-store collection and take it I , refund it then purchase it again on the iUP. I did this last year with the jet black - all done and dusted in a couple of minutes.

As long as it’s completed within two hours of the refund, the item doesn’t go back to returned stock.

I asked in JL about this very clause and they said that it still relies on you getting your network to unlock it when you want to change, so technically the wording is correct but still locks to first network. I believe CPW are the only ones now who don't lock the phones to the first network, apart from apple of course

I can assure you the iPhone I purchased remained unlocked the whole time I had it. I used it on EE and O2. Used it on EE first and never requested it to be unlocked before using O2.

Seems they reversed it now thankfully. Original thread here: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...carphone-if-you-want-unlocked-iphone.1920425/

This seems to have been reversed as pointed out above. I had one and returned it as I use different sims in different countries, this was a 7 so it was still happening last launch
