More Carphone Warehouse confusion! Had to ring them as my payment was blocked. Sorted that out and then asked the girl if their phones still locked to the first sim put in. She didn’t really understand what I was on about but went away, asked someone, then came back and said yes, they do lock to the first sim inserted! Need 100% clarification on this. Anyone?

I asked on twitter and they said it definitely wont be locked to the first sim.

Exact same situation with dates and a CPW order as this. Not cancelling either order until I know ones on the way! What time did you order with CPW/recieve the second email off them? 256 silver also here.

I ordered CPW too. 64GB SG SIM free, 1st acknowledgement email 07.55 and second 10.08. Also phoned yesterday to be told 3rd November is accurate. However, I'm not cancelling my 2-3 week Apple order until I have definitive knowledge of CPW order (i.e. delayed date or phone in hand).

I’ve known since last month when I spoke to them numerous times to ask, no idea actually when the policy changed. It’s all over their website too

LOL if it’s all over the website then link to it.

Mine is coming from Apple so no problem but it’s not clear. I agree so far all I’ve seen is word of mouth in here - which may be true but I wouldn’t want to take that risk.

Spoke to them again. If you buy just the phone it’s definitely unlocked and won’t lock to first sim inserted. If you buy on contract it will lock because the phone will be allocated a number. Happy now it’ll be an unlocked iPhone exactly the same as one bought direct from Apple

Just in a side note I wouldn’t bother ordering an iPhone case from Apple that is due in several weeks. (Although you can cancel so no harm).

They will definitely have stock of cases on launch day - they always do. And I’d expect the folio case too in Apple stores.

I’ve ordered a few cases from amazon and some screen protectors (just in case) and I plan on picking up an Apple case next Friday in store.

Do you think they’ll have Apple iPhone X cases in-store on Friday, separate from ordered-online stock? I want the saddle brown, but if I order online for pickup it’s already slipped from 6th to 7th of November. Don’t feel great about going caseless the first few days...

I think they normally do. Be safe order a cheap TPU case from Amazon in case though. I'm doing same gave a pickup on 3rd. I want the silicone and delivery dates are 6-7th Nov. I've got a clear case and pouch ready though

Mine is confirmed for November 1st so may as well order online?

I cancelled my CPW order this morning and wait for my Apple order for 13th to 20th November. This first lock\unlock was giving me a lot of headache. Let me have peace of mind and wait for another week+ than worry about CPW mix information. It's not worth it for me tbh

Does anyone know what iOS version will be loaded onto the iPhone X for Nov 3rd delivery? Most likely 11.0.3 I guess, any chance of 11.1?

does anybody have idea what delivery service they are using this year ? i really hope its DPD! getting that 7am text telling me what hours they will deliver the phone is absolutely the most exciting hours of the whole release day

Our phones are unlocked!

Most of the phones we sell aren't locked to a network, including almost all of our SIM free phones. That means you can put any UK SIM card into your phone and enjoy the benefits of whichever UK network you prefer.

Just had a thought.....Apple says my 7 plus is worth £440. I have £355 left on my iup credit agreement.

Is it therefore possible to trade in the 7 plus and start a new iup, essentially giving myself £85 credit. I mean, there is nothing stopping me from selling the phone and then paying the remaining £355 anyway is there? Is this potentially a loophole that can be exploited?

Seems like stock levels are good. My current estimate is still silly though! could be waiting til December as my pre order went in very late!

Im in two minds as to if I should cancel the order

Nothing stopping you at all. Plus you can get a partial refund on the unused portion of AppleCare+ if I remember correctly too.

There is nothing stopping you from doing that at all.
