Sadly won't know if stores are getting stock until a day or so before launch but cab keep an eye out.

Edit: just checked when I got into work and now the silver is showing internally as 3rd. Going by past launches this is usually pretty accurate

Thanks, really hope this is the case! Keep us updated if you find anything else out ;)

It's not even a loophole - Apple will actively encourage this if they can give you more (And they will for anyone who bought a 7 at launch, because it'll be worth more than than the loan now that you've had it more than a year...)

I've actually gone ahead and paid off the iUP loan today so that it'll have a chance to update everywhere and get marked as settled before the new iUP application on Friday in the hopes it won't look like I'm trying to take out 2 iUPs.

So would this be doable in-store do you think? ie when I go to pick up the X, say to the specialist about trading in my 7 plus and starting a new iup agreement? Would they then be able to sort out the admin with Barclays or would I have to do that before/after.

I don’t understand the bit about partial refund on AppleCare either. Can someone explain?

Yeh. 100%. I actually got them to try it with my iPhone 7 Plus 128GB today. It showed £311 left on the iUP loan, or £380 from Apple on trade up program.

If you don't go for the £311 iUP upgrade though, it's up to you to call Barclays to sort out the existing iUP.

See the difference? You can choose which SIM to insert when you get the phone because it's unlocked, but AFTER you insert and activate the phone, you can no longer insert another SIM.

But if a phone is advertised as SIM FREE, that's what it is. Whenever I have bought a SIM FREE phone I have been able to switch many sim cards without a problem.

That's right, but unfortunately Carphone Warehouse and Argos used to sell "SIM-free" iPhones that followed the activation policy of the network of the first SIM card put into it. This doesn't happen anymore (as I recently learned) but that is where @ssrij is coming from.

Thanks for the info. I am actually tempted to just go for iPhone payments instead of iup. Never dropped and broken my Phone. That way I could trade in anyway?

That sucks. I won't consider them an option next time.

Yup, exactly! Up to you when you pay off the existing loan - but obviously be aware that if you don't do it before your new application for iPhone Payments, it will be on your credit file and might affect your chances of being approved.

Thank you Lunfai!

I have exactly the same screen as you, “in progress” and no date given.

Glad you found it! What time did you order?

Yes it just comes up with my order for my 7+ from last year. I’ve spoken to O2 and they’ve confirmed the order was placed successfully

I’m sure it’ll show up soon, give them a ring if you have a chance to see what’s going on.

So when is everyone trading in their phones? I would love to get the process underway now but with 13-20 delivery date, It's a little far off at the moment!

I’ve seen on here before you can if you’ve paid off your IUP. You definitely can if you bought outright to start as per https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT202704 - can’t see why it would be different if you’ve paid off your loan, as you now own the phone and AC+ that comes with it.

So does that include when you give the phone back to them when you get the X on the iup? Or only if you have paid it off beforehand. Cheers

I got the hard back for my 7+ last year & it still going strong . I used the :apple: leather case for a week or so, it just did’nt offer the full protection I needed
Thanks! Usually get the :apple: silicone case, but the Torras one looks almost identical but nearly a third of the price.

Looks decent. I liked the Apple silicone as well but may be tempted.

Only thing worked with on the X and cases though is the required swipe up from bottom for high on everything, and wonder if cases with even tiny lips on will interfere.

Apple silicone and leather have the cut out on bottom so would be handy

Going to take it to CPW as soon as my number transfers over from three

That’s my concern with most of the non-Apple cases too. There are a few with cut-outs though.
