Which? as I do think this will help. Might try ones of those or a very thin ones although it's hard to find one that is same material as Apple one

This is one which I saw in my Facebook feed earlier today... I’m thinking of getting it.

For those asking about AppleCare refunds when ending IUP....

If you cancel your IUP by paying it off, then your phone still has AppleCare that can be cancelled. In effect by paying it off you’ve paid the full £199 for 2 years of AppleCare.

If you exercise your right to upgrade after making 11 payments then handing it back to Apple and starting a new plan, then you won’t be able to refund on AppleCare as you’ve only paid 11/20ths of the 2 year Apple care cost.

LOL if it’s all over the website then link to it.

Mine is coming from Apple so no problem but it’s not clear. I agree so far all I’ve seen is word of mouth in here - which may be true but I wouldn’t want to take that risk.

I’ve mentioned this in my posts, it’s hard to keep up as its fast moving so can be missed. People seem to want to ask questions on here and then are not happy with the responses.

There is the option the search this thread, yes it’s a long one but it can be found. There’s also google or doing what I did which was phoning CPW and asking clearly if they did or not. But anyway

Glad you found it! What time did you order?
[doublepost=1509207974][/doublepost]

I’m sure it’ll show up soon, give them a ring if you have a chance to see what’s going on.
m experience nothing will change on O2's website until its preparing to ship, which could be right up to Thursday evening. Its squeaky bum time.

The US launch day stock has always delivered from China and trackable, in the UK launch day stock usually only becomes trackable once dispatched from the Syncreon hub in Hinckley. Usually Thursday.

I’m wondering if this year is different, things seem to have gone into preparing for dispatch much earlier than normal? Perhaps suggesting a tracked shipment from China.

The thing is, it doesn't say if the phone locks to the first SIM or not. I already know the phone comes unlocked, however whether it locks to the first SIM (no matter which UK carrier) or not is not mentioned anywhere, and some people say it doesn't, and some people say it does.

I'd like to hear from someone who has actually bought an iPhone this year and have successfully used it with overseas SIM. Or maybe someone can point to a page on CPW website where it specifically says it doesn't lock to the first SIM.

There’s been so many posts recently but I’m sure there has been. I’ve spoken to them directly as confirm they stay unlocked, they have explicitly confirmed they no longer lock to first carrier. If you need that confirmation, to avoid ambiguity I’d advice you speak to them and/or ask for some written confirmation.

If you buy from CPW an iPhone on contract it WILL lock to whatever carrier you take it out with as your number has to be associated with it BUT

If you just buy the phone it WILL be fully unlocked. That’s the difference.

I bought the 8 plus from CPW they are fully unlocked, can use any SIM card you want anytime you want. They do not lock to the first sim.

Is there any issue with doing this? I plan on doing the same!!
Last year there wasn't. I got declined so I just paid in full instead. Was kinda sad since before I even got declined the employee had the iphone infront of me saying I was lucky to get a release day pickup. So glad I had the money to buy outright.

I’ve ordered three different iPhone from CPW all on the O2 Network and was able to use them abroad in Dubai using a local sim there

It shouldn’t be a problem is that facility is already available on the iPad and my iPad is a case on it and I have no problems with swiping up

The bezels are bigger on the iPad though. You can easily hit the bottom of the screen without touching any case on it... with the X being much smaller it might be harder to do?

Ah yes....good point. I have several cases including one without a covering at the bottom. If the 'full' covers prove to be obstructive then I will send them back
