As usual carriers and retailers have no idea about when the deliveries will start, just like with last year's Jet Black iPhones, and you just get a different answer depending on who you talk to - some day delivery on 3rd and some say delivery on 10th. I am honestly surprised how companies who sell communication devices fail so hard at communicating with their customers

I'm using these: 29W USB-C Power Adapter and USB-C to Lightning Cable, both from Apple. I'm not sure if 3rd party chargers/cables are available, and whether that will give the higher charge rate etc. The USB-C to Lightning cable is more chunky than the standard USB cable.
Just bought those two through ebay for £50.98 (genuine ones ofc). Apple is selling it for such a rip-off price it's insane. Hopefully the chunkier cable means that they're more durable...

No, credit is a great way of financing for things you would otherwise have to struggle to afford outright.

Someone must have hacked your account the other night.

I think it's sad you would get a loan from a bank for a PHONE... truly tragic but hey whatever gets u the newest iphone right

In the same thread the guy who hacked your account said it was against your morals to finance a phone instead of paying cash. Hopefully you changed your password.

I’ve got an offer of £605 for my IPhone 8 Plus from O2 Recycle. I got 10% more using the code 10MORE for anyone that wants to try it.

I think that’s a very good price. Obviously £799 retail price. But id be lucky to sell it locked for £700 on eBay and by the time you add fees it’s probably around the £600 mark plus the hassle of potential times wasters as well.

What you guys think?

It’s because Apple is very secretive about how the stock arrives. Unless you’re high up, you won’t know a lot. The phones kinda just turn up at around a time that companies are expecting it to arrive, from there it’s up to the carrier to do all of the crazy logistics to get you your phone to your door.

In the end I picked up a wireless Belkin one from the apple store in Watford today.

Wanted one that could support the slightly faster charging when Apple enable it. For me it’ll be nice to keep the phone topped up when I am chilling in the living room and i can just set it down in between uses to charge it.

Which reseller was it? There's only one Apple Authorized Reseller in my city (Oxford), called Western Computers. I hope they have some stock on Nov 3rd!

iStore. Yes, the resellers can be good. They would normally get a smaller batch of stock but people go to the official Apple Stores for the 'experience'. Personally, the experience of waiting in line overnight never appeals to me.

Your local reseller is likely to have the stock delivered on Thursday afternoon so get chummy with the manager and find out how many units they have.

Ah ok I'll just give them a call on Thursday and ask if they will be getting any 64GB Silver the next day, and if they do, I'll come to the store the moment it opens to get it.

Yeah I know, that's why carriers and retailers should clearly say something like "Expected delivery from 3rd Nov" or provide an accurate delivery estimate. Many of them promise or guarantee you and are not careful with the wording on their websites with regards to delivery/shipping.

If they clearly say, in bold, that the shipping date is an estimate and it's not guaranteed or anything, then its fine. But they don't and lie, just to sign up as many people as possible for contracts.

To be fair, o2 said exactly that. I'm not sure about everyone else. Business is always about lying, it's rare to see a company that is truly honest. It's a shame but it's probably how they have reached so far.

So any luck with the delivery estimates changing anyone?
Unfortunately not. My order is delivery 13th - 20th Nov. Still a bit peeved that I did not manage to secure delivery on 3rd Nov (damn that Apple App!). I have been checking my order status & this thread frequently (well more like obsessively!) since Friday, in the hope that there may be a sign of delivery estimates improving...not holding out much hope, but you never know.

What time did you order with CPW?

I ordered 07.55 and I am still being told 3rd over the phone and via Twitter (having given then my order number)

This whole reason of confusion is why I’m not cancelling my Apple 2-3 week delivery order.
I was late to the CPW "party" and only ordered around 11:45 but as I say, they're still saying the 3rd for me. They did contact me yesterday as my CC company blocked payment but that's all sorted now. I too still have an Apple order for the 13th so if they mess me about I'll just go with that.

In a similar position, my old card details were there so my first attempt bounced - so I changed to my Paypal which delayed my order, sadly missing my launch day estimate :(

My phone case has been dispatched and billed to me, PayPal authorisation was a few days back so if my phone (13th-20th) has an authorisation appear it might mean the estimates are gonna change and will let you all know!

It's not even a loophole - Apple will actively encourage this if they can give you more (And they will for anyone who bought a 7 at launch, because it'll be worth more than than the loan now that you've had it more than a year...)

I've actually gone ahead and paid off the iUP loan today so that it'll have a chance to update everywhere and get marked as settled before the new iUP application on Friday in the hopes it won't look like I'm trying to take out 2 iUPs.

Sorry to drag this up from yesterday, but if Your phone is worth more than the balance of IUP remaining, will Apple refund or credit this to you?

I owe £350ish but Apple are offering £450 for my iPhone as a trade in (for I store credit).

I guess it’s easier to go through Apple and lose out on £100 than the hassle of selling privately and paying off my old agreement.

What are people thinking?

If you do it as a new iUP purchase, then they will put the money into your bank rather than store credit - but then you have to pay off the existing iUP yourself.

If you want Apple to pay it off for you automatically, you'll just get the equivalent of whatever is left on your loan.

I have a question about iUP and insurance. If for example, my iPhone X gets lost and my insurance provides me with a new one, what will happen next year? Will Apple not take the replacement handset as payment against the remaining balance as it is technically not the one I bought this year?

Have you just decided to by the X? I don’t understand why anyone would have bought the 8 only to change it now.

Thanks, when you say ‘you’ll get the equivalent of whatever is left on your loan’, what do you mean? I’m sorry I’m probably not thinking straight, it’s been a long old week!
