Ok seems like it's a no brainer then.

Another question I have is, if I pay off the loan this week, do you think it'll show on my credit report by Friday? Bit worried than when I go and take out the fresh iUP loan they'll still see the £300 odd loan I already have on there and then refuse me...

Nope, it’ll take about 15 days for Barclays when they do the bulk update.

Mine took a month.

They are good prices - I’m very happy with £605 for a locked EE 8 Plus 64GB - and as I said before even if it sold for £700 it would end up as less with eBay fees and then you also potentially have time wasters and it could still sell for less.

Assuming your EE 8+ is a contract? If so, are you aware of the T&C’s which state you are not allowed to sell the phone in the first 6 months?

Hmm... reckon this might affect my ability to take out a new loan on Friday? Has anyone ever heard of anyone getting declined? I have a good credit score, just worried this will hit it.

Are all these for lauch/pickup? I’ve got the pending transaction on my Paypal but not the actual holding charge
Mine is for pickup on 3/11. I got an app notification and an email to tell me they were unable to authorise. The update payment information page on the apple store site goes from "Payment not authorised" to "we can not process your transaction at this time".

A lady was declined when she tried to refund and go iUP. She left without a phone.

I don’t know how risk averse they are, sadly since I’m no longer on iUP... virgin media screwed up my bill and then didn’t do the Debit, putting me into arrears.

I’m still trying to fight it.

Last year I got the 20-27 shipping timelines, somehow shipping was expedited and it was delivered on the 20th. Here’s hoping history repeats itself :) and with a stroke of luck it turns up on the 13th

Thanks to person above who posted the O2 code. Just got £451 locked in on my 256gb 7+. Anyone recent experience with them? Last couple of years I've used Envirofone with no issue. O2 price is nearly another £10 on pice I have locked in on Envirofone
How do you lock it in? what if you change your mind?

Don't forget guys that if you're an O2 customer and you recycle your phone with them, you get an extra 10% on what they offer you!
My sister is on O2, could I use her details to get the extra 10%, I'm on EE, my iPhone is SIM free form Apple so not locked. Is it an extra 10% cash as well? could get paid to her and then transferred to me?

Do you need the box and accessories with O2recycle, trying to see, as Envirofone you dont seem to have to?

Also looks like you have to pay to send back as well as they recommend RM special delivery so they must not provide insurance, which is a must really. Can you not do it in a O2 shop?

thanks

I know with CPW you can trade it in store where you just hand over the phone and they give you a proof of receipt

it's then in your account within 5 days.

I did this with my 6s plus and currently CPW are giving the best price for my 7 plus

I'm not with CPW will I be able to walk in store and trade in and they BT me? Is it just the actual iPhone they need, no box or accessories etc? Much more convenient than having to send etc thats all.

What are you currently getting for the 7+? thats hat I have, do CPW customers get extra? Would mean I could goto Apple on Fri pickup my X, then was to CPW or O2 and hand in my 7+ thats ideal with no hassle then!

quoting £400, for me, says walk in, and they'll credit to bank card instantly, would be so easy this way, less than sell private probably, do you need box etc?

no doesn't matter which carrier you are with.

I just went into my local store and said I wanted to trade it in and they give me a price and I just handed the phone over with no cables or anything. wasn't even in a bag or box.

The annoying this with this whole process, is that it's forced me into a bit of a gamble to try and get the phone on launch day - which I am extremely skeptical will be possible, although I live in hope.

Basically tried to connect to the Apple Store at the moment pre-releases started, but couldn't connect until something like 6 minutes past the hour. Then I realised that it only had my debit, and not credit card, on file so I had to race down the stairs (yes, I was lazily doing from my bed) to put those details in, by which time my expected delivery date was early December.

This was annoying in part because it would be really useful to get the phone on the 3rd Nov, as my best mate is down for the weekend that day (he lives a distance away) and his iPhone 6 has just died, so there would be a well-timed possibility to pass mine onto him.

Moaning about it on the way to work to my gf on the phone, she checked the Three website (we both have 3 SIM contracts) and they were still saying 3rd November, so I swerved into a lay-by and went through the process there and then on the site. A quick calculation showed me that over 24months, the Three deal would cost me £16 more in total than buying the phone outright from Apple and continuing with my SIM only deal, which I could live with.

But I'm kinda living on my nerves now, fully expecting Three to send a 'Sorry your order will be delayed' email at any moment. Last year I went through the whole China-watch thing with my MBP and frankly I could do without all that shenanigans again (getting nervy with each oddly worded status update), but ordering this way seems like more of a leap of faith as I don't have access to any order progress info. Really not sure which is worse.

Talking of ordering woes, my gf placed an order at the same time but for in-store collection. All good until she realised that she has to take ID which matches her bank account name....she has a married name for most things, but never changed her bank a/c name. She called 3 and was told she would be denied the phone on those grounds when she went to collect, so she requested it be sent to her house (where the credit check was made), but they are refusing because 'we can't send to an address different to the one used for the credit check'...the whole thing has her pulling her hair out and a hairs breadth away from cancelling all together.

It shouldn't be this difficult!

Does it say anything on your account online, not the app?

If it’s not Barclaycard, call Apple to manually run it.
