That’s the worry if everyone who missed out on launch day think the same. At least there will be some cancelled Apple orders to improve deliveries for other I guess.
Yeah that’s the thing I’m not too bothered about waiting, I could be persuaded if my shipment gets delayed I ordered the 6 Plus pretty late and waited 4 weeks it was quite awful - so despite 2-3 weeks I’m looking on the brighter side of it

But I will check my paypal and order status compulsively in the mean time...

wow might pick up a bargain X on eBay :D

With EE the phone legally still belongs to them for the first 6 months when you either upgrade or take a new line. They even say it on the phone. I’ve been told that if EE find out that the phone has been sold they will block the IMEI.

Officially EE own the handset for the first 6 months and do not allow the phone to be sold on during that time.

If the phone is detected running a different sim EE put a lock on the phone and from what I have read it then cannot be undone.

That is a lot of money to lose for the buyer if EE enforce this.

Just posted the same thing :p

It’s not really a worry though is it.
I mean. If that’s what is worrying people I need to move planets.

Pink sand silicone case is coming tomorrow via UKMail :D shame about the phone though hahah well good luck to me on Friday morning....

Does anyone else think it's really unfair how the US have access to things such as 'UPS My Choice' and we are left with very little tracking information? The status of my X order has been on 'preparing for dispatch' since Saturday. I'm interested to see when it changes to shipped now as mine should be arriving on the 3rd.

UPS My Choice exists here too. Plus if you got a second batch (or later) shipment, you'd probably be able to track it through UPS My Choice because it would likely come straight from China by UPS, unlike the launch day ones which are held in Hinckley first.

But in my opinion we have a much better experience than the US:
  • SIM-free models from day one
  • Pre-ordering without carrier verification (which is a cause of so much anguish in the US)
  • Ability to reserve for in-store pickup without up-front payment
  • One hour delivery slots from DPD and UK Mail
  • No need to worry about things being delayed en route from China

UPS My Choice is available in the UK. You just need to register and set it up. Always get notifications of packages being sent to me before I even get a shipping email.

I tried to sign up to UPS my choice but it's quite useless as Apple haven't provided a tracking number. I've used things such as my mobile number, order number (-2 digits of the number) and my post code etc. I do agree that we have a much better experience though, DPD is the best.

View attachment 729776 Just had a notification to say my Apple order has shipped! Surely not....

Was in fact my Aubergine Apple leather case for my iPhone X Silver :D
Estimated delivery of 6-8 Nov. Will now arrive 2 Nov. Bring on Friday with DPD delivery from Apple.

So can we just confirm noone actually has a delivery date range that is after launch day, but before the 13-20 window? Because if that is the case surely there wont be 10 days of no deliveries?

Made this point before I know, but with some deliveries being bumped in the europe thread wondering if anyone is expecting anything? I remember with the Apple Watch (1st gen) something similar happened.

The whole point of UPS My Choice is that it will tell you about shipments before you find out yourself. So when you sign up, they will post a letter to your address with a code on to confirm the registration, and then on you can see all shipments addressed to you without the tracking number.

But it probably won't be coming by UPS anyway.

Never a good idea to share the order number even if it is just a case!

That's correct, it went straight to 2-3 weeks here.

It is possible that there are ten days of no deliveries. In previous years orders seemed to go out in huge batches on a weekly-or-so basis.

UPS My Choice has nothing to do with Apple. You will only get a notification if Apple actually ship it though UPS. If the item comes from the UK (which looking at past launches is more than likely) then you won't get a notification from UPS until Thursday when they actually ship.

The customers in the US are getting notifications because some of their orders are being shipped from the factories in China.

Patience.....lol

UK orders ship from within the UK (if from the initial batch) so they dont even get assigned a carrier until Wednesday night/Thursday morning because delivery only takes 24 hours. US Orders ship direct from China, so get dispatched much earlier. Nothing to do with fairness.

I genuinely thought that our iPhones shipped from China.. That's so interesting, so the initial UK batch was sent way before the ones that are currently being shipped to the US?

Mostly correct, mine has been dispatched by DPD from o2 today to the store I’m collecting from which means that some of them have moved away from Syncreon for carrier packing.

Considering Hinckley is a 20-minute drive that is very annoying to find out!

Every year since the 6, it’s been a breeze. Yeah, the prices aren’t great but o2 have been exceptional for me. EE was tempting but I don’t need to change right now.
